The Mean Girls actress' dramatic performance was New York City-coded from the exposed brick set and casual fire escape acrobatics
Her new album Bite Me is available to stream, and she will embark on her tour in support of it in SeptemberReneé Rapp is anything but shy in her latest performance.
The Mean Girls star appeared on the Thursday, July 31 episode of The Late Show with Stephen Colbert to perform "Shy" from her sophomore album Bite Me.
Rapp, 25, sings on a set decorated like a small apartment before leaning backwards out of a brick window and gracefully climbing to the fire escape — while still carrying a tune and wearing heels.
"Don't handle me with care / When you're pullin' my hair / Baby, ruin my life," she croons. "I want it bad, I swear / That I'm really not scared / I'm just a little bit shy."
"Shy" appears on Rapp's new album Bite Me, which she announced in May and came out on Friday, Aug. 1.
She spoke about how her mom manifested her becoming a pop star during an appearance on Amy Poehler's podcast Good Hang with Amy Poehler in May, thanks to her name's alliteration.

"My mom chose my first and last name to be, well, okay, arguably chose my first and last name to both have [two letter R's]," she recalled. "She was like, 'Alliteration, just in case she wants to be a pop star' before I was born."
Though Rapp admitted that her mom's decision was "conceited," she is "obsessed with the way [her mother] did it." "I'm like, thank you, God," she added.
Poehler, 53, was impressed with how things came to be. "She gave you a pop star name just in case, because Reneé Rapp is a huge pop star name," the Parks and Recreation star said.
Rapp, who released her album Snow Angel in August 2023, told PEOPLE about the inspiration behind the project.
"All the songs I write obviously are about things that I've been through personally, but I think that any relationship I've ever had in my life is all culminated into one on this project and in these songs," she said at the time.

"I love relationships. I love so hard. I am very protective of the people that I love. I'm very protective of myself, and all of these situations were taken from relationships that I had, whether they be good or bad."
She also said that Snow Angel featured a "really mature version of myself" with "a little more bite."
"I think that a lot of my EP thematically had more of a, 'Oh, no, this is what's happening to me," Rapp said. "This is what I'm going through' thing, which is great, but I think that Snow Angel is a bit more resilient and it's a bit more matter of fact and has a little bit more bite."
Up next for the Sex Lives of College Girls actress is a tour through North America in support of her latest album. Kicking off on Sept. 23, Rapp will stop in New York, Boston, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Atlanta and Toronto, among other cities, through Oct. 29.
Bite Me is available to stream.

Renee Rapp Criticizes Fan's Labubu Doll

This is Reneé Rapp — icon, pop star, truthteller, and queen of saying the quiet part out loud. Like on Friday, when she got really honest with a fan about what she thought of their Labubu doll. Labubu, if you don't know, is a line of collectible monster toys designed by Chinese illustrator Kasing Lung. They're usually furry and colorful, with rabbit-like ears and jagged, mischievous smiles. They originated in Lung's 2015 series The Monsters, but surged in popularity this year, with many fans wearing them on their belts and bags. Reneé was at a release party for her new album, Bite Me, when a fan approached her and asked her to sign their doll. Reneé looked visibly taken aback as the fan encouraged her to "just sign its face." Taking the doll, Reneé said, "Bro. These are so fucking ugly." The fan laughed, "No, you love it." "I don't," Reneé replied, laughing. Still, she signed the doll, and when the fan playfully apologized for interrupting her event, Reneé replied, "It's okay. It's nice to meet you." But she still couldn't get over the doll's odd appearance because she then repeated, "This shit is so ugly to me." The clip of the moment quickly went viral online, with many praising Reneé's unfiltered comments — and echoing her thoughts. One Reddit user called her so "honest and real." Another confessed, "This kinda made me stan her." "I appreciate how she made it clear she wasn't criticizing the person filming - just the doll itself," someone added, while another fan praised this "age of celebs being relatable with fans." But not everyone enjoyed the exchange. Some viewers thought Renee's comments were a smidge rude. "i agree but she could've just signed it and moved on. she didn't need to make the person feel bad about something they were excited about," one critic said. Another added, "I mean… isn't that the whole point, that they're supposed to be ugly? It's still kinda rude to be so snarky about it to someone who clearly enjoys it…" A third chimed in to say, "They ain't for me— I'm a lifelong Sanrio gal— but can't we just let people like what they like? I find it especially awkward to say something is ugly to the person who clearly loved it enough to buy it and carry it with them." "People allergic to joy," someone else wrote. "If collecting them makes people happy, who cares what you think? Nobody judges people who collect Pokémon cards or Funko Pops. We're going through a hellish time right now. People are dying. Who cares what little toy people are obsessed with? Let people live." And this last person didn't hold back on their thoughts at all, writing, "Theyre ugly, but idk why people bitch about others liking them. The world is burning let them have their ugly dolls." What do you think of Labubus and this fan exchange? Tell me in the comments.

Prince Harry denies author's claims he punched Prince Andrew leaving him with a 'bloody nose'

Prince Harry has rejected an author's claims that "punches were thrown" between him and Prince Andrew years before he stepped back from royal duties. The story surfaced in writer Andrew Lownie's new book Entitled: The Rise and Fall of the House of York. In the book, Lownie claims tensions escalated between the Duke of Sussex and his uncle after Harry learned of "something Andrew said behind [his] back". It further claims the argument led to a physical confrontation in which "Harry got the better of Andrew" and left his uncle with a "bloody nose". The alleged fight is said to have taken place over a decade ago, and Lownie writes that the pair's relationship has not improved in the years since. Lownie also wrote that Prince Andrew told his nephew he was "bonkers" for marrying Meghan Markle, now the Duchess of Sussex, and that the marriage would "not last more than a month". The claims have been refuted by Prince Harry's staff, who told People magazine: "I can confirm neither of those things are true. Prince Harry and Prince Andrew have never had a physical fight, nor did Prince Andrew ever make those comments about the Duchess of Sussex to Prince Harry. 'Nor did Prince Andrew ever make the comments he is alleged to have made about the Duchess of Sussex to Prince Harry.' Extracts of Lownie's book have been serialised by The Daily Mail this weekend, and allege Prince Andrew has a "problematic" relationship with his two nephews. The insider quoted in Lownie's book further alleges that Harry told his brother William, now Prince of Wales, that 'he hated Andrew'. The book adds there were "tensions between the two men for years', in addition to claims Andrew was rude about the Princess of Wales. In June, it was reported Prince Harry is planning to reach out to his family by inviting them to the 2027 Invictus Games, in what is seen as a significant step towards reconciliation after years of tension. Prince Harry is said to be seeking to mend relations with his father and brother following the fallout from his 2023 memoir Spare, with formal invitations expected to be sent later this month. A source told the Mail on Sunday: "Harry has agreed that Invictus should extend an invitation to his family. Invictus hopes the Royal Family will come along to support the wounded veterans taking part. Harry is hopeful his father will set aside their differences to attend the Invictus Games and support veterans. "The Royals have always been hugely supportive of Invictus and proud of what Harry has achieved in that arena. This is one olive branch from him which might be reciprocated."

In a video of the tribute posted on X, WWE announcer Michael Cole said, 'Hulk Hogan was larger than life, sports entertainment personified [and] the greatest performer in our history.' 'He was undefeated [at SummerSlam] … just so many great moments, too many to talk about really in the career of a man who carried professional wrestling on his back for three decades. Rest in peace brother,' he concluded.
