Two stars of Coronation Street share more than just their talent for captivating audiences.
The popular ITV soap has a history of featuring real-life family members on its iconic cobbles, including siblings, cousins, and even parent-child duos.
Cousins Brooke Vincent and Ellie Leach have both enjoyed successful stints on the show, while the late Rick Neelan (played by Greg Wood) was actually the real-life brother of footballer Tommy Orpington (portrayed by Matt Milburn).
However, they're not the only ones with familial ties both on and off screen. Fans were recently taken aback by the revelation of a mother-son duo who graced the soap years ago.

In 1985, Sue Jenkins joined the cast of Coronation Street as Gloria Todd, becoming a regular face at the Rovers Return pub. She worked alongside Julie Goodyear, who famously played landlady Bet Lynch, reports the Daily Star.

Beyond her time on Corrie, Sue also portrayed Jackie Corkhill in Brookside from 1992 to 2001, and made a brief appearance in Emmerdale in 2008 as Bonnie Drinkwater.
Interestingly, Sue's son is none other than Richard Fleeshman, who also had a role on Coronation Street as Craig Harris.
Her real-life son also appeared on the soap
Richard became part of the Coronation Street family in 2002, joining as part of the Harris clan, who were under witness protection. His character, Craig, had some significant storylines during his tenure.
He adopted a goth lifestyle, much to his father's disapproval, and became Rosie Webster's (portrayed by Helen Flanagan) first boyfriend. The plot thickened dramatically when Craig's sister, Katy Harris, killed their father following a heated argument about her clandestine relationship with Martin Platt.
Fans have been left floored

Their mother, Angela Harris, attempted to protect Katy by covering up the crime, but overwhelmed by guilt, Katy took her own life. In the aftermath, Craig planned to flee to Berlin with Rosie, but ultimately departed alone, bidding farewell to the cobbles in 2006 for good.
The revelation of Sue and Richard's roles on Corrie left fans astounded. On X, previously known as Twitter, one viewer posted about Sue's stint on Corrie.
Another fan responded: "That's Richard fleeshmans mum!". A third person commented: "Wow, all this time watching and I never knew that, I can see her son in that photo now." Yet another added: "Her real life son played Craig Harris, son of Psycho Tommy!"

Celebrity contestant on The Chase says there was one thing he really wasn't expecting
Our community members are treated to special offers, promotions and adverts from us and our partners. You can check out at any time. More info Judge Jules revealed that his experience on The Chase Celebrity special was slightly less daunting due to his familiarisation with the Elstree Studios. The renowned DJ appeared alongside other notable personalities, including Lesley Joseph, Jenni Falconer, and Patrick Kielty, on the ITV special. The team faced off against Shaun 'The Dark Destroyer' Wallace in intense rounds, ultimately leading to all four celebrities participating in the final chase. During this round, they successfully outsmarted Wallace, securing a total of £200,000 to be divided among their chosen charities. However, while some might crack under the pressure of the ITV quiz show, 58 year old lawyer and DJ Judge Jules confessed he didn't feel overly anxious. "I'm not nervous in my normal activities, before I go on the decks or anything else related to the music business," he told the Mirror. READ MORE - The 'rejected' Channel 4 Grand Designs home as producers warn 'we need more drama' READ MORE - Kate 'fulfilled long held promise' to Princess Charlotte with sweet move The London-born star continued: "It was a little bit nervy because it's such an unfamiliar environment. The strange thing was, it's filmed in Elstree Studios where EastEnders is filmed, or it was when I did it anyway. My dad (Shaun O'Riordan) worked there his entire working life, so I'd been to those studios multiple times - my dad was a TV director so I think maybe that eased off the pressure a little bit." (Image: ITV) (Image: ITV) (Image: Supplied) Judge Jules' prior visits to the studios, where his father worked as a TV director, may have contributed to his relatively calm demeanour during the show. Jules, all set to command the decks across the UK and Balearics this summer, divulged: "It's fast moving, you meet three others who you've never met before, all of you are there for a common purpose, it's quite comedial backstage but at the same time, it's more the alien environment", reports the Express. He recounted how he adjusted to unfamiliar territory: "When you're experienced in one area and suddenly you're thrust into this alien environment, it makes it more nervous. We earned a chunk of money for charity, which was great. It was £200,00, so it was quite a lot." Catch The Chase every weekday on ITV, kicking off at 5pm.

Cheryl's huge TV comeback will be 'bittersweet' after ex Liam Payne's death
A source says the new role will be 'bittersweet' for Cheryl after the death of her ex, Liam Payne. Cheryl Tweedy has been off the television scene for over half a decade, but her anticipated return to TV is tinged with sadness following the passing of her former partner, Liam Payne. The Newcastle-born songstress, who last graced our screens in a major TV role in 2019, is rumoured to be joining her old friend as a mentor on the upcoming series of The Voice UK. A source speaking exclusively to OK! magazine revealed that despite her illustrious career, this opportunity on the ITV programme could be "the biggest role of her life". "This is really important for Cheryl," the insider divulged. "She realised after Liam's death that you just don't know what's around the corner – life isn't a dress rehearsal. A comeback on a TV show like The Voice has always been at the back of her mind, has always wanted her back and Liam's passing sort of made the decision for her. "She wants Bear to see that she's a strong, successful woman, and to see that life can go on and even be good." Recent reports suggest that the former Girls Aloud member, aged 42 and mother to eight year old Bear, is in discussions to join the next instalment of The Voice UK, set to broadcast early next year. The potential judging panel is said to include Sir Tom Jones, Danny Jones and Tom Fletcher as a duo, along with newcomer Kelly Rowland, reports the Mirror. A source revealed to The Sun that Cheryl was taking "baby steps" in her television career and represented the "obvious choice" to guide team when the reimagined Battle Rounds commence. "Cheryl and first worked together 16 years ago and have remained good friends ever since," the insider revealed. Former One Direction star Liam tragically plunged to his death from a hotel balcony in Buenos Aires during October, at just 31 years old. Following their two-year romance which ended in 2018, Cheryl was granted joint responsibility for overseeing Liam's £24 million estate alongside an entertainment industry solicitor. With several months having elapsed since Liam's tragic passing, our insider suggested Cheryl feels prepared to demonstrate to both the public and herself that she remains a formidable presence. "She's not doing it for the money or for fame, she's had the most incredible career already. It's about proving she's strong and capable after so much heartache, and letting Bear see that too," they explained. "It's probably going to be the biggest challenge she's faced but she's determined to do it – and to do it well." Cheryl's most recent major television appearance was as a dance captain on the BBC's The Greatest Dancer, before taking on a starring role in the West End production 2:22 A Ghost Story during 2023. Public relations specialist Lynn Carratt reckons Cheryl's extensive background positions her perfectly for a successful comeback, though she must be emotionally equipped for renewed public scrutiny. "Let's not forget, Cheryl's whole career has been built around music talent shows," she told new. She won Popstars: The Rivals with Girls Aloud and worked on The X Factor so she's been in the same position as the contestants – they'll really relate to her experience and authenticity in that area. "But she's had so much going on, overcoming the death of Liam, looking after Bear and her stalker hell. This could be a good way of easing herself back into the public eye, after months in the wilderness." The opportunity might prove "bittersweet" for Cheryl, Lynn suggests, given that one of Liam's final television ventures was Netflix's Building The Band, which launches this week on the platform. "It's probably quite nerve-wracking for her too," Lynn continued. "And good that she could be a mentor and not a full-time judge." Liam's passing also occurred merely three years following Cheryl's loss of Girls Aloud colleague Sarah Harding, who passed away just two months before reaching 40 from breast cancer. Beyond the Girls Aloud comeback tour alongside Nadine Coyle, Nicola Roberts and Kimberley Walsh, Cheryl has maintained a deliberately low profile. Lynn observed that Cheryl has consistently remained the most reserved when it comes to public attention and never truly embraced the instant stardom that followed the group's Popstars: The Rivals victory 23 years ago. "She'll turn up and do the Girls Aloud tour and she'll be on TV, but then she'll go away and you might not see her for a long time," she stated. "She's very focused now on being a mum to Bear. He's still young but he's growing up and since Liam's death, she's probably wanted to be there for him a lot more. She's a single parent now – there's no escaping that – so she has to pick her jobs carefully." Join the Daily Record WhatsApp community! Ozzy Osbourne fans divided over his 'sad' final performance with Black Sabbath
Ozzy Osbourne, aged 76, performed while seated on a throne at Villa Park in Birmingham on Saturday. Rock superstar Ozzy Osbourne bid farewell to fans with a Black Sabbath reunion in his final ever live performance - but fans were split over his last time gracing the stage. At 76, Ozzy took to the stage in Birmingham on a throne for five songs during Black Sabbath's Back to the Beginning farewell gig in his hometown on Saturday, July 5. Osbourne and his fellow original Black Sabbath members – Tony Iommi, Terence 'Geezer' Butler and Bill Ward – were the last to appear on stage as part of a star-studded line-up for the Back to the Beginning concert. Among the bands performing were Anthrax, Metallica and Guns N'Roses, and there were messages of thanks from other celebrities, including Jack Black, Ricky Gervais and Dolly Parton. However, some spectators, both in the audience and watching the live stream, felt uncomfortable seeing their hero perform amidst his health struggles. On X, previously Twitter, one fan posted: "Feel a bit sorry for Ozzy being wheeled out like that. He clearly isn't fit and well." Another reflected: "I feel bad for Ozzy. Yeah it's his last ever live show but it's kind of gross how a visibly unwell man is being wheeled out like this by Sharon," while a third commented: "Very sad, Ozzy in a goth wheelchair." Some were impressed, though, writing: "As much as I am against this final Ozzy Osbourne/Black Sabbath show, the videos I've seen on Twitter and YouTube, Ozzy sounds a lot better than I expected." Last month, Ozzy had cautioned fans that he "may be sitting down" for his final act at Villa Park due to health concerns, around the time Black Sabbath received the freedom of Birmingham. The nicknamed Prince of Darkness entered the stage for the final time by rising on his throne through a trapdoor. He started the performance by saying: 'Let me hear you. Are you ready? Let the madness begin!' Later, he added: 'It's so good to be on this f****** stage. You have no idea. I f****** love you all. Let me see your hands in the air. You are the best, each and every one of you. God bless you all.' In an emotional moment, Ozzy said: 'I don't know what to say, man, I've been laid up for like six years. You have no idea how I feel – thank you from the bottom of my heart. 'You're all f****** special. Let's go crazy, come on.' The rocker, donning his signature black attire and thick eye makeup, sang five songs in his own set before re-entering the stage after a break to join the rest of Black Sabbath for the first time in 20 years in a special reunion. The band performed some of their greatest hits, ending with a rendition of Paranoid for the ultimate send-off. Fans chanted 'Ozzy, Ozzy, Ozzy' as the rock legend thanked and blew kisses to those in attendance. He then departed in an emotional ending to cap off an illustrious career on stage. Over the weekend, the founding members of the heavy metal legends were honoured for their contribution to Birmingham's cultural and musical heritage, as well as their role as heavy metal trailblazers. Ozzy revealed whilst accepting the accolade that the reunion gig was his wife Sharon's brainchild. The band secured their place in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2006 and received a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award in 2019. During the freedom of the city ceremony, Osbourne reflected: "I first put an advert in a music store in town. If these guys hadn't come to my door, I wouldn't be sitting here now. It seems to have flown by so quickly. It's amazing. "I think about my dad, who went into debt to buy me a microphone. If only he could be here now. I think he would be very proud. I'm a Brummie and I always will be a Brummie. Birmingham forever!" Osbourne, who was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease in 2019, plans to continue to record music, but said that the concert marked the end for him performing live.
