But he reckons his move to Celtic came too soon for the Polish defender.
Nawrocki has joined Hannover on loan and the Bundesliga 2 side have an option to buy the 24-year-old if he impresses.
German boss Runjaic was in charge of Legia Warsaw when they agreed to sell Nawrocki to Celtic for £4.3 million two years ago.
And he's backed him to go on and prove himself in Germany.

Runjaic said: "Perhaps his move to Celtic came a bit too early for him.
"But I trust him to make a big impression in the second division of German football.
"He is a very good guy, calm on the ball and he is very technically adept, he has a good passing game and is powerful in the air.
"I would assume he has matured a lot at Celtic in Scottish football.
"He can play in a back four or a back three.
"He has potential and I would expect Hannover to exercise their purchase option in a year."

Xavi Simons makes decision over Chelsea transfer after Man City talks

Xavi Simons has informed RB Leipzig he only wants a transfer to Chelsea despite approaches from Manchester City and Bayern Munich. Premier League giants Man City and Bundesliga champions Bayern have expressed interest in signing Simons, who is set to leave Leipzig this summer. City are looking at possible replacements for Savinho as the Brazilian continues to be linked with a move to Tottenham. Pep Guardiola is a known admirer of Rodrygo, who has been heavily linked with a move away from Real Madrid this summer, but Simons is also of interest to bosses at the Etihad Stadium. Bayern Munich, meanwhile, view Simons as an ideal replacement for Kingsley Coman, who left the German giants to join Saudi Pro League side Al Nassr. Metro's new weekly football newsletter: In The Mixer. Exclusive analysis, FPL tips and transfer talk sent straight to your inbox every Friday – sign up, it's an open goal. Bayern are in talks to sign Christopher Nkunku from Chelsea but are expected to move for Simons if that deal collapses. Moves to Manchester City or Bayern Munich may be tempting but Simons has his heart set on a move to Stamford Bridge, according to ESPN. The Netherlands international has already agreed personal terms with the Blues and has been won over by Chelsea's project. Having approved a move to west London, Simons is now waiting for Chelsea and RB Leipzig to agree on a deal. Chelsea appear ready to meet Leipzig's valuation, which stands at around 60m euros, but are keen to sanction a couple of departures before making a ninth summer signing. Enzo Maresca is ready to offload Nkunku before the summer transfer deadline closes and is also open to Nicolas Jackson leaving. If Chelsea complete a deal for Simons, the Dutch playmaker would become the club's ninth summer signing. More Trending The Conference League holders and Club World Cup champions have already spent around £250m this summer on the likes of Joao Pedro, Jorrel Hato and Liam Delap. Chelsea plan to turn their attentions to Manchester United winger Alejandro Garnacho after bringing Simons to Stamford Bridge. Simons, 22, has spent three years at Leipzig since being signed from Paris Saint-Germain in 2023. Chelsea began their 2025-26 Premier League campaign with a goalless draw with Crystal Palace on Sunday. For more stories like this, check our sport page. Mulligan's late strike was one to savour

Josh Mulligan, step forward. You provided one of the few pieces of real quality in an eminently forgettable Premier Sports Cup clash between Hibs and Livingston at the Home of the Set Fare Arena. The 22-year-old picked up the ball on the left just outside the Livi box and smashed the ball into the net. A superb strike from the versatile player who only joined Hibs in the close season. He decided not to renew his contract with his home town club and moved south to the Capital. He now looks like a quality capture by Hibs boss David Gray who described the performance of his men as 'very professional'. They now move forward to a mouth-watering, quarter-final tie at Ibrox against Rangers but first they continue their European odyssey with a midweek home clash with Legia Warszawa on Thursday (20.00) in the Europa Conference League, play-off, first-leg. For the visit to West Lothian, the Easter Road side made six changes from the squad which accounted for Partizan Belgrade on aggregate on a heady night last week, resting standout striker, Kieron Bowie. If that was a bruising, energy-sapping battle, it went into extra time, then this was round two, a highly-physical clash with the West Lothian club. It will have left scars. Bodies landed on the deck regularly, leading to staccato play. The game lacking any fluency and cried out for somebody to take charge of the ball and start distributing passes around the newly-laid, artificial pitch. Nobody, sadly, put their head above the parapet, unfortunately, for the 4, 696 fans at the sun-kissed arena where the thermometer registered over 20c. Sadly, this was not, in my humble opinion, a good advert for Scottish football. Grey felt his men had control of the game. They had, but there were precious few occasions when Livingston goalkeeper, Jerome Prior, was really tested. Busy Josh Campbell did fire a vicious left-foot shot from the left of the box which Prior dealt with at full stretch in the first period, but robust challenges prevented constructive play with Mo Sylla and Campbell clashing on several occasions in midfield battles. Finally, the deadlock was broken and as the clock ticked tediously towards the break, Tongolese striker, Thibault Llidje, struck. The 24-year-old, who Gray said he is being 'patient' with Klidje, who previously played for Bordeaux and Luzern. He emerged from a ruck of players near The Lions goal line to celebrate. Martin Boyle assisted. The break came as a welcome relief, and the same pattern emerged at the re-start. Crunching tackles, little constructive play, shots being blocked, including one from substitute Nicky Cadden. Livingston huffed and puffed, but failed to blow Hibs' house down. However, they began to get their act together, forcing Hibs back into their own half as they mounted a late charge. Scotland defender Grant Hanley was prominent, using his positional sense and his head on several occasions to snuff out dangerous moves, and Kanayo Megwa had been a strong presence throughout. Chances were at a premium for the home side, with debutant goalkeeper, Raphael Sallinger, having a comfortable afternoon between the Hibs posts. If looked as if Klidje's strike would separate the teams as the final whistle loomed when Hibs broke and Mulligan took centre stage with three minutes of regular time remaining. It was a goal to savour, and the Hibs fans certainly did, singing 'That's the way I like it'. Livi did have a late chance but Zak Rudden failed to find the net after a free-kick from substitute Connor McLennan and Hibs countered quickly and could, possibly should, have added to their tally had they made more of a four-on-two break from inside their own half. Sportingly, Livingston manager, David Martindale, conceded that Hibs deserved to progress, but added: 'We played some good football.' Of course, Livingston were promoted from the play-offs last season, and he did concede that the West Lothian club had not faced a club from the top six in the William Hill Premiership for some time. He said: 'There is a difference between the top six and the bottom six (in the Premiership).' He's right, there is, on this evidence, but Livingston will learn from this. They will have to learn fast as it is Celtic Park for them next Saturday (15.00) on William Hill Premiership business. Like this: Like Related

The Review: Former Celtic prospect Tsoanelo Letsosa puts his best foot forward with Partick Thistle

Young Partick Thistle midfielder Tsoanelo Letsosa could be the best player in the Championship this season — as long as he remembers to bring his boots. The 21-year-old former Celtic prospect has been a breath of fresh air, on and off the pitch, since moving to Firhill from Belgian club Lommel in the summer. He has captured the imagination in all but one of his five appearances, the exception being a subdued display in the 5-1 defeat at McDiarmid Park on the opening day of the league season. 'He played against St Johnstone,' confirmed Thistle manager Mark Wilson. 'And he'll probably not like me telling this, but we thought something was off with him. He forgot his boots, so he had to wear the centre-half's boots. So, a lesson learned.' Not an ideal start, you might think, but Thistle will soon forget about that if the Lesotho-born player continues to be as bright and exciting as he has been since signing a two-year deal in the summer. Letsosa scored on his debut against Queen of the South, won the penalty that earned Thistle a point against Morton and caught the eye in their Premier Sports Cup win against Ayr United yesterday. That 2-0 triumph at Firhill set up a quarter-final tie at home to Celtic, the club with whom Letsosa spent six years as an academy player after moving to Scotland with his family at a young age. Capped by Scotland at youth level, Letsosa was highly-thought of at Celtic, but he rejected a new contract in 2023 and opted instead to further his career in the Belgian second division. The idea was to play regular first-team football there, but he returned to Scotland in July and the hope is that Thistle can be the platform he has been waiting for. While Dan O'Reilly and Logan Chalmers got the goals in a deserved victory against Ayr, it was the spark provided by Letsosa that many were talking about afterwards. Quite apart from having two good feet, a quick turn of pace and an eye for goal, he has an infectious personality that is endearing him to his manager, his team-mates and the Thistle supporters. 'He's brilliant,' said Wilson. 'What a character. Have you ever got to speak to him as well? He lights up a room and he lights up a pitch with the way he moves with the ball.' With his Celtic schooling, and his experience in Belgium, Letsosa has a good attitude to go with his natural ability. 'He was terrific today,' added Wilson. 'You could see how much ground he covers and his data backs that up as well. But he's got real quality. So, when he's on top of his game, he's going to be hard to better in this division.' So far, Thistle's league campaign has not gone to plan, but they have won all five of their games in a compelling Premier Sports Cup adventure. Letsosa and his team-mates have every reason to be excited about their sixth. Savvy Steelmen show there's life after Lennon As Motherwell have proved time and again over the years, the departure of a top player need not be a debilitating blow. Just as they dealt capably with the sale of David Turnbull to Celtic, so can they be expected to take Lennon Miller's record-breaking £4.7million move to Udinese in their stride. Selling players for a handy fee and rebuilding their team is nothing new to the Lanarkshire club, who understand and embrace where they stand in the football food chain. As Miller prepares to make a potential debut for Udinese in tomorrow night's Coppa Italia tie against Carrarese, manager Jens Berthel Askou and his remaining players have already moved on. Together, they have a team ethic and playing style that is more important than any individual, as St Johnstone discovered to their cost in the Premier Sports Cup. At McDiarmid Park, Motherwell passed, passed and passed again until it wore down their Championship opponents and bore fruit with an extra-time winner from Lukas Fadinger. The deserved 1-0 victory set up a quarter-final tie away to Aberdeen and, perhaps more importantly, showed a vision that should serve them well in the Premiership. Motherwell dominate the ball, have made some intriguing signings — playmaker Elijah Just is one to watch — and so far lack only the goals to show for their share of possession. But that will surely come, especially if they sign a scorer between now and the end of the transfer window. They can't say they don't have the money.
