Netflix's You season 5 fans floored as they spot cameo by Yellowstone favourite

Daily Mirror28-04-2025
You season five introduces a number of new characters and one of them is played by a Yellowstone favourite who many Netflix subscribers may have failed to recognise.
WARNING: This article contains spoilers from Netflix's You season five.
Netflix's You season five has brought Joe Goldberg's story to a close, but it's the appearance of a Yellowstone favourite that has got subscribers buzzing.

Joe Goldberg, portrayed by Penn Badgley, has been wreaking havoc in Netflix's You since 2018, with season five marking the beginning of the end for his reign of terror.

After returning to New York with his new wife Kate Lockwood, played by Charlotte Ritchie, three years later he encounters aspiring writer Bronte, played by Madeline Brewer. It doesn't take a genius to figure out she was destined to be his next romantic interest.
However, in a shocking twist, it turns out that Bronte is actually catfishing Joe, attempting to expose him as she believes he murdered her friend Beck, played by Elizabeth Lail, which he did, back in the first season.
She and her friends manage to capture footage of him killing Dr Nicky's son Clayton, played by Tom Francis, while defending Bronte and they post this video on social media.
Numerous familiar faces recount their stories about Joe online, but some men vent their anger at Bronte for deceiving him in the first place.

One such man is Dane Robinson, played by Jefferson White, who appears in episode seven, #JoeGoldberg, and attempts to kidnap Bronte before Joe, who was already tailing her, steps in.
Viewers were initially repulsed by the character Dane, but many did a double take when they realised he was played by Yellowstone actor Jefferson White.
The 35-year-old is internationally recognised for his role as the endearing ranch hand Jimmy Hurdstrom in all five seasons of the Paramount Network Western drama.

He was slated to appear in the upcoming Yellowstone spin-off 6666 after Jimmy was sent to the famous ranch where he fell for vet Emily (Kathryn Kelly), although there has been little news on this spin-off.
In You season five, Joe and Bronte discuss their problems before he presents her with a gift - Dane trapped in his infamous glass box.

He tells Bronte she can do whatever she wants to him, but even after learning about his plans to attack another woman, she sets him free.
Bronte doesn't want to kill like Joe but understands his perspective, leading them to a compromise.
However, this isn't satisfactory for Joe, and it's later revealed that he stabs Dane to death in the street, completing the task he wanted Bronte to carry out.

Top Boy star welcomes daughter with beloved girlfriend as actor reveals tot's sweet name in gushing post: 'We love you so much it hurts'

Top Boy star Giacomo Mancini has welcomed his first child, a baby daughter, with his beloved girlfriend who he lovingly refers to as G. The actor, 30, who played Gem in the award winning Netflix series, took to Instagram on Saturday, to announce their bundle of joy had arrived one week earlier. As well as sharing a slew of sweet snaps of the adorable newborn Giacomo also revealed her name, Mia Bella Mancini. The tot, dressed in a pink cardigan, was seen in her Moses basket as well as sleeping on her father's bare chest. Giacomo captioned the post: 'August 9th day you captured our hearts. Mummy and Daddy love you so much it hurts!'. Fans and famous friends rushed to the comments including former EastEnders actress and former Top Boy co-star Kierston Wareing who gushed: 'Congratulations'. After making his screen debut in Top Boy, Giacomo has gone on to appear in The IT Crowd, Ripper Street and is currently starring in Amazon's sci-fi series Supacell. When Top Boy first aired in 2011, it cast mainly unknown actors and told a gritty and realistic tale of gangsters on a tough Hackney estate. Ashley Walters and Kane Robinson starred as drug dealers with a cast of mostly unknown actors. It lasted two series before being dropped by Channel 4, three years later, following interest from Drake, the show was saved and three more series were made by Netflix. And the show seems to have become the perfect training ground for young British stars. Last year Jasmine Jobson, who had her big break on the show, won the Best Supporting Actress BAFTA for her role. The 20-year-old, who grew up in west London and put herself into care aged 14, said the show 'changed her life'. 'I was just a normal girl from west London that was just trying to do better for myself and was just wishing and hoping for the best. 'And one day I went from working in a bar full time and acting part time to suddenly acting full time and now acting pays my bills. So Top Boy saved my life,' she said accepting the award. Fans and famous friends rushed to the comments including former EastEnders actress and former Top Boy co-star Kierston Wareing who gushed: 'Congratulations' The actress, who played Jaq in the series, was cast in the third season of the show, after it was 'saved' by Drake. The first two seasons of the show aired on Channel 4 in 2011, before being dropped in 2014. Three years later, the Hotline Bling hitmaker teamed up with Netflix to revamp the show, with a new cast as well as the original cast members Dushane and Sully, played by Ashley Walters and Kane Robinson. Speaking at BAFTA Television's The Sessions in 2020, the show's creator Ronan Bennett, 68, admitted he didn't know who Drake was when he was first approached by the Canadian rap superstar. 'After two successful seasons on Channel 4, when Top Boy was cancelled it was one of those ones I wasn't able to shrug off. 'It meant too much. It was an incredible family feeling about the cast and the crew and filmmakers. It was very hard and difficult to understand. 'When I heard that Drake was interested I didn't pay it a lot of mind, partly because I didn't know who he was. 'It wasn't until I met him a bit later that it became clear he was serious and we really had a chance of going forward.' Ronan went on: 'I realised maybe it turns out he's quite big. We met him in London, myself and my colleagues, he was great. 'And he was very genuine and just really loved it and all he said to us was we just want you to do what you do and all we want to be is the fuel to your fire and to help it get back up again. 'He didn't want to control it, he wanted us to do the same thing again.'
