J-Hope talks about ideal types and love interests
As part of a regular segment on the variety show, Sana from TWICE asked the BTS rapper one of the most anticipated questions.
Ever since the announcement of his feature on the show, fans have been looking forward to the burning question about the idol's love life and preferences.
Sana, during the second half of the episode, asked J-Hope about what he looks for in a partner, surprising the 'MONA LISA' singer. J-Hope and Sana both laughed and joked about the fact that the question is no longer common in today's interviews and how the last time he was asked the question, he was 10 years younger.
Looking for someone with a 'different perspective' from him
The idol kept his answer short and quick and emphasised the fact that he's looking for a different personality when seeking a potential partner. He shared how important it is for the other person to be different from him and how their different perspective on things would matter to him.
He explained the situation by putting forth a hypothetical question, saying, 'If I ask, what do you think is inside this pear drink? I'd probably answer simply that it has pear and some other ingredients.

But the other person might answer from a totally different perspective. And I'd find that really interesting [making my heart flutter].'

BTS' RM Reveals His Love For Getting ‘Attention' Hasn't Changed Since Childhood

Kim Namjoon, aka RM, gave insights into himself for the first time since his discharge from the military earlier this year. Kim Namjoon, aka RM, stepped in front of the camera for the first time since he was discharged from the military after the completion of his mandatory service. The BTS star gave fans some insight into both sides of himself: his thoughtful, behind-the-scenes self and the confident one that owns the stage. He talked about both his personalities honestly with a touch of humour. When asked about an ideal of himself that is often misunderstood during an interview with Harper's Bazaar Korea, Namjoon answered by doing what he does best – being himself. He said, 'People say RM can't do that? But what is he actually good at? Now my image is an image of not being good at sports. I can't even play foot volleyball, I can't drive, I don't have a license." RM added, 'I have this image of not being good at things that require coordination, but surprisingly, I'm really good at skating." After a brief pause, he hilariously mentioned, 'Well, to that extent… Other than that, not much else. And dancing, it's not that bad. That's about it." RM Likes To Be An 'Attention Seeker' Furthermore, RM, the leader of the K-pop supergroup BTS, did not hesitate to share that he loves being in the limelight, and he was not subtle about it. The 30-year-old rapper talked about his childhood dreams compared to now, and said, 'I like to be in the spotlight. That's the same. I don't think being an attention seeker is a wrong thing." He recalled an anecdote from his childhood, when he was called the 'Talk Box." Namjoon mentioned, 'When I was a kid, my nickname was Talk Box. I used to gather interesting stories from the internet and share them with my friends. I also liked public speaking. I really enjoyed giving presentations. I liked making people laugh. I used to want to be a comedian. So, my desire for attention is quite similar." RM Reveals What Makes Him Feel Most Alive The BTS leader then shared what makes him feel alive the most. As the star RM, he loves performing, releasing new music and standing in front of a crowd of their ardent fans. And as Kim Namjoon, his most cherished moments are enjoying simple things in life with the people he loves the most. 'Being with people I like, without hesitation, or when I'm doing what I want in a place where no one recognises me. Travelling seems to be the closest thing to that, but honestly, I can't stay that way for long and want to come home soon. And working on music again makes me feel alive again," he explained. And just like the musician and his band, fans are also excited about their new music, which the group announced just days after their discharge from the military. BTS, as a unit, is gearing up to release a brand-new album in the first half of 2026. RM, along with Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V and Jungkook, began working on it last month in the US. BTS' RM reveals surprising reason for wearing sunglasses next to Kim Taehyung during their military discharge: ‘I appeared in the news a lot'

BTS' RM sat down with Harper's Bazaar Korea after gracing the cover of the magazine's August edition. The rapper and BTS leader, dressed in Bottega Veneta's latest collection, went bold with colours much like his approach to making music. He opened up about how he sees life after hitting massive fame, but also shared a piece of his childhood that still lives with him. And when things get tough, he knows exactly how to deal with them. Back in June, when RM and fellow BTS member Kim Taehyung were discharged from the military, Namjoon grabbed several headlines for playing 'Detective Conan', the theme song of a popular Japanese manga. The rapper recalled how he ended up all over the news for his saxophone-style exit, stepping out of the unit in uniform, black sunglasses on, blowing the musical instrument left, right, and centre while V took the bouquets for him and hundreds of ARMYs stood there cheering. His viral stunt during service sparked both laughter and criticism, but he admitted humour was always his real intention. 'When I was a corporal, I played the best until I was promoted,' he said before adding, 'That was my peak period.' RM continued, 'After I was discharged, when I played 'Conan, ' I heard a lot of feedback about it. 'You weren't that good at it, were you?' But at least I learned something in the military, I thought it would be fun to use it in concerts or entertainment shows.' He said, 'I really did intend to make people laugh. I thought it would be funny to wear the sunglasses I actually wore in the military. Anyway, it was fun. Since many people laughed, it was a success. I appeared in the news a lot [hundreds of messages because of the saxophone…] so I think I received the most messages in my life.' RM's statement comes after a few criticised the move while others speculated he was just genuinely happy to be out of the military. Elsewhere in the interview, RM admitted the saxophone was the only thing that made his military life enjoyable. But now I just want to be someone who goes at his own pace and direction. I hope people feel comforted by that.' The artist said he feels most confident when his music turns out the way he envisioned. Citing his recent collaboration with Megan Thee Stallion on NEVA PLAY he said, 'I think I feel the most impressive when a song turns out well.'
