
BisB & Smile Initiative Partner for Children's Cancer Support
The agreement was signed at BisB's headquarters in the presence of Ms. Fatema AlAlawi, Chief Executive Officer of BisB, Mr. Sabah Abdulrahman Al Zayani, Chairman of the Future Society for Youth, and representatives from both organisations.
Through this partnership, BisB's volunteer team Jood will work alongside the 'Smile' initiative to organise impactful charitable events and activities across Bahrain. These will include psychological and social support initiatives for children battling cancer and their families, as well as awareness campaigns on childhood cancer.
Ms. Fatema AlAlawi, Chief Executive Officer of BisB, stated: 'We are proud to join hands with the 'Smile' initiative of the Future Society for Youth to further our shared mission of empowering the community, particularly young cancer warriors. Our dedication to social responsibility remains unwavering, as we collaborate with leading non-profit organisations to champion purposeful causes and foster a culture of giving back to the society.'

Youth empowerment central to national vision, Cabinet affirms
Active contribution of Bahrain youth is key to Kingdom's comprehensive development, weekly Cabinet meeting chaired by Deputy Prime Minister, His Excellency Shaikh Khalid bin Abdulla Al Khalifa viewed yesterday. HM King during a reception of medical professionals had commended their efforts in advancing the Kingdom's medical sector and contributing to the wider field of healthcare. Minister further commended the Kingdom's successful hosting of the 26th Arab Men's Basketball Championship, held under the patronage of His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports (SCYS), Chairman of the General Sports Authority (GSA), and President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC). The event was also attended by His Highness Shaikh Isa bin Ali Al Khalifa, Vice President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee. The Cabinet welcomed the World Health Organization's (WHO) accreditation of the Muharraq and Northern Governorates as "Healthy Governorates," joining the Capital Governorate, the first in the Eastern Mediterranean region to receive this designation. The Cabinet commended the Minister of Interior, the Capital, Muharraq and Northern Governorates on this accomplishment. The Cabinet welcomed the signing of a peace agreement between Azerbaijan and Armenia, brokered by the United States under the leadership of Donald Trump, President of the United States of America. The Cabinet expressed its hope that the agreement would strengthen their cooperation.

CBB Sukuk Al Salam Securities oversubscribed by 135%
The Central Bank of Bahrain (CBB) announces that the monthly issue of the Sukuk Al-Salam Islamic securities has been oversubscribed by 135%. Subscriptions worth BD 67.603 million were received for the BD 50 million issue, which carries a maturity of 91 days. The expected return on the issue, which begins on August 13 and matures on November 12, is 5.39% compared to 5.42 of the previous issue on July 9. The Sukuk Al-Salam are issued by the CBB on behalf of the Government of the Kingdom of Bahrain. This is issue No.292 (BH000772X055) of the short-term Sukuk Al-Salam series.

BIBF launches new professional certificate in Principles of Payments (CertPay)
The Bahrain Institute of Banking and Finance (BIBF) announced the launch of a new Certificate in Principles of Payments (CertPay), a globally accredited qualification awarded by the London Institute of Banking & Finance (LIBF). This strategic initiative aims to prepare national talent for the fast-evolving payments sector and further strengthen Bahrain's position as a leading regional hub for financial services and FinTech innovation. The programme is designed for professionals working in banking, payment solution providers, regulatory and compliance roles, corporate treasury and finance, as well as individuals seeking to specialise in the payments industry. The programme provides comprehensive insights into payment infrastructures, regulatory frameworks, risk management, and emerging innovations such as digital wallets and blockchain technology. Bassam Kazerooni, Acting Head of the Banking and Finance Centre at BIBF, explained that the payments sector is experiencing a global transformation due to digital technologies and increasing demand for faster, more secure services. He said the programme is designed to provide Bahraini professionals with top-level knowledge and practical skills, which will enhance the financial sector's competitiveness and support the Kingdom's goal of leading in digital economic development. Kazerooni further explained that the programme has been developed in line with international best practices and includes an online examination that awards participants with a globally recognised professional certification – opening new opportunities in both local and regional job markets. This new offering marks a valuable addition to BIBF's portfolio of internationally recognised professional qualifications, designed to meet the needs of financial sector professionals across the Kingdom and the wider region, empowering them to keep pace with the rapid evolution of financial services and technology.
