'Real Housewives' Star Diagnosed With Cancer Makes Heartbreaking Statement and Fans Are all Saying the Same Thing originally appeared on Parade.
Teddi Mellencamp opened up about her cancer journey during an interview on The Jamie Kern Lima Show.
The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star opened up about her alleged affair with a horse trainer and, while she didn't openly admit to stepping out on her then-husband Edwin Arroyave, she did say that she wonders if her diagnosis was "payback" for the choices she made.
"I've never talked about it at all, just because of the kids, and I've never wanted anybody to have a, you know, a guarantee whether it happened or didn't happen, but what I can say is, did I do things that hurt other people? Yes," she admitted.
"And I wonder if that's why it got cancer. Like it was my payback. Nothing goes without payment, I guess," Mellencamp, 44, added.
More than 200 comments amassed on a Reddit thread about Mellencamp's karma comments and most fans disagree with the mom of three's thoughts, saying that no one "deserves" cancer.
"She deserved to be divorced. No one deserves cancer. Even in some twisted world where you could 'deserve' cancer, her children don't deserve to see their mother like this," one person weighed in.
"Life isn't about paybacks. We live, we learn, we grow. I feel terrible that she feels this is her 'karma,'" someone else said.
"Lost my mom to cancer, she was 42, I was 15. She didn't do anything to deserve cancer, no one deserves to die with cancer. Poor teddy, I feel for her young kids so hard, I lived it, and even I was older than her kids. I can't imagine going thru it even younger. She has guilt, and looking for a reason why she got it, but this isn't it. There is no reason, unfortunately, it comes after anyone. I pray she can pull out of this some way, somehow," a third Redditor wrote.
"Poor Teddi. My dad died last week after the prostate cancer he's had since 2010 metastasized to his brain. He was an exceptional person and a good man, and no mistake he ever made was the reason for any of this. I hope Teddi has enough people in her life reminding her that cancer doesn't discriminate, and she doesn't deserve it. I think how openly and aggressively she's fighting the disease is great, and I hope she beats it to a pulp. F*** cancer," a fourth comment read.Mellencamp was diagnosed with melanoma in 2023 and has openly shared her journey on social media and on her podcasts. In February 2025, she learned that the cancer had metastasized to her brain and, a month later, she revealed that she had tumors on her lungs.
Mellencamp and Arroyave are separated, though they remain close and still live together. They co-parent their three kids, Slate, Cruz and Dove.

Celebrities Who Refused To Fix Their Teeth Or Regretted Dental Work

Amid the growing (and disheartening) pressure to look 'perfect' in Hollywood, it's nice to see celebrities refusing to conform to particular standards and embracing their natural beauty. This week, Reddit user u/PaleontologistNo5420 shared a thread in r/popculturechat celebrating famous women with 'unique' smiles, which prompted a heap of wholesome discourse and praise. So, here's a roundup of celebrities who have refused to get cosmetic dental work done: 1. After starring in The White Lotus earlier this year, Aimee Lou Wood found herself — and, well, her teeth — at the center of public discourse. The actor even saw a viral video of an orthodontist 'analyzing' her teeth before concluding that she doesn't need to change her smile at all, to which she replied, 'It feels so lovely. A real full-circle moment after being bullied for my teeth forever. Now people are clapping in an audience.' 2. Although Ayo Edebiri's dentist apparently insisted that she get Invisalign, The Bear star firmly refused. 'I'm not allowed to. I won't allow myself to. I don't want to, I want to look like myself. I want to look like my parents, I want to look like my family. I want to look like Black people who are from Boston,' she told Bustle in 2022. 3. Kirsten Dunst once shared that when she was just 19, a Spider-Man producer drove her to the dentist to get her teeth fixed — without giving her any sort of heads up beforehand. 'I was like, 'Mmmmm, no, I like my teeth,'' she recalled as she remembered refusing to get out of the car. 4. Joel Kim Booster once tweeted, 'I love when people ask me when I'm going to fix my teeth. Extremely normal behavior. And quite honestly if I did, it would almost make me too powerful.' He later shared in an interview of the awkward encounter, 'Someone straight up asked me, 'When you get famous, are you gonna fix your teeth?' It was the first time someone had clocked me for having bad teeth. At that point in my career, I didn't necessarily have the means to address it. My response was simply 'No.' And I internalized that response to such a degree in the years since that, as I've become more and more successful, I sort of put off addressing any dental work.' 5. Back in 2021, Cynthia Erivo told Vogue that she has 'never' wanted to change the gap in her teeth. 'I think a smile that has a gap in it already is perfect,' she said. 'I wouldn't change it. I have never wanted to change it. I never will change it. And I don't shy away from people looking at my mouth. So if you have a gap out there, enjoy it.' 6. Similarly, Georgia May Jagger has talked about embracing the gap in her teeth, admitting that she wasn't really aware of it until she started modeling. 'The press started making a big deal of it and I thought, I suppose my smile doesn't look like everyone else's,' she told Vogue in 2011. 7. Back in 2007, Keira Knightley said she'd never felt any pressure in Hollywood to fix her so-called 'wonky' teeth. 'I've never felt that I was, in any way, exploited in any of the kind of film experiences that I've had,' she told CBS News. 'Which is quite amazing, because I've got wonky teeth. And I keep hearing about everybody going to Hollywood and, you know, their agents going, 'Straighten your teeth,' or 'Whiten your teeth,' but nobody's ever said anything about my teeth.' On the flip side, several stars have talked about massively regretting getting cosmetic work done to fix their teeth: 1. Back in 2016, Demi Lovato shared during an interview with Allure, 'I signed with the Disney Channel when I got to Camp Rock, and I had a gap between my two front teeth. They were like, 'Would you be willing to fix it?' I wish today that I hadn't.' 2. During a 2021 interview, Bad Bunny looked back at a photo of himself at the 2018 Latin Billboard Awards and said, 'My jaw hurts just looking at this picture. I'd just had my teeth done — I've always regretted it — and the veneers were wrong, so the grill didn't fit properly. Look at me trying to close my mouth!' 3. Kehlani once warned her fans against getting 'cheap' resin veneers that caused her dental problems. 'It is cheap and fast but the amount of long, expensive dental work you are going to need after you go this route is five or six times the amount,' she said in a now-deleted TikTok. 'Dental work can not be one of the things where you sacrifice quality because of price. It's your mouth and when you get problems in your mouth, it can lead to disease in the body.' 4. Just last month, Alix Earle expressed regret over her veneers as she shared a now-viral TikTok of herself filing her front tooth down with a nail file. 'I really regretted it, like, right away. I think it was really scary for me, and I was like, 'What did I just do?' I had such good teeth and, I'm like, 'Oh my God, I have to keep up with this for the rest of my life,'' she said in the video. 5. And finally, LeAnn Rimes once sued her dentist, alleging that a faulty crown placement caused her to develop 'severe tooth pain, gum inflammation and chronic gum bleeding,' per ABC News. The singer — who was unable to perform at certain tour dates because she had to undergo dental surgery — sought monetary compensation for 'loss of earnings and future earning capacity.' There is no public record of how the suit played out. Can you think of any more examples? Feel free to share in the comments!

The Biggest 'Wednesday' Season Two, Part One Easter Eggs You May Have Missed

If you're the kind of Wednesday super fan who pauses mid-episode to screenshot background details and then disappears down a three-hour Reddit rabbit hole analysing them, then season two of Netflix's gothic phenomenon was made specifically for you. Showrunners Alfred Gough and Miles Millar have transformed the first four episodes of season two (which dropped on Wednesday, August 6) into a masterclass in cultural archaeology, layering references so intricate that even the most devoted fans are still uncovering new details. It's gothic genealogy meets meta-commentary, and frankly, we can't stop mining every frame for hidden meaning. These are the Wednesday season two, part one easter eggs you definitely missed. Let's start with what you probably noticed: Jenna Ortega's Wednesday channels serious Christina Ricci energy throughout these opening episodes, but it's not imitation – it's deliberate homage. The costume department has created looks that feel like natural evolution rather than nostalgic recreation, while Morticia's styling offers subtle nods to Anjelica Huston's iconic 1990s interpretation. Uncle Fester's dialogue deserves particular attention from longtime fans. Listen carefully, and you'll hear echoes of his classic movie one-liners, woven into the script like inside jokes for viewers who've been following this family for decades. The opening six minutes alone contain enough hidden significance to fuel a term's worth of film studies analysis. When Wednesday casts her spell over Goody's book, her necklace turns blood red – a blink-and-you'll-miss-it visual cue that may be fleeting but is crucial to understanding her character's evolving powers. Even more striking are the black tears Wednesday sheds when her abilities start 'glitching.' It's visually arresting and symbolically loaded, suggesting that her supernatural evolution is going to be neither comfortable nor pretty. This season's Nevermore Academy feels like walking through a gothic literature syllabus. Pugsley and Eugene are housed in Caliban Hall, a Shakespeare reference that's both thematically appropriate and slightly tongue-in-cheek. The Da Vinci students crafting a raven-shaped bonfire isn't just atmospheric set dressing, either – it's a love letter to the poet, Edgar Allan Poe, where he is portrayed as a former student of the fictional school. The school's name is even a direct nod to the famous line 'Nevermore' from Poe's poem The Raven. The Poe references didn't stop there. A sword ceiling threatens students in clear homage to The Pit and the Pendulum, while a red-caped figure pursuing Wednesday channels The Mask of the Red Death. Some of the most satisfying easter eggs require serious pop culture knowledge. Thing rolling a clear bowling ball with a rubber duck inside is pure Big Lebowski energy – weird, wonderful, and completely unexpected. Meanwhile, the zombie revived by lightning feels like Tim Burton nodding to his own 2012 film Frankenweenie. Even behind-the-scenes details become easter eggs: co-creator Miles Millar appears as a TSA agent in episode one's airport scene, marking his first on-screen appearance in three decades. It's the kind of insider cameo that rewards the most dedicated fans while adding a playful meta-layer to the viewing experience. Wednesday season two, part one is available to stream now. Machine Gun Kelly Just Revealed That Megan Fox Was Left 'Fuming' When Someone Said He Was 'Such A Good Dad' For Holding Their Daughter

Back in March, Machine Gun Kelly and Megan Fox welcomed their first child together, a daughter called Saga. And while the couple haven't been romantically involved since November, they still have a strong coparenting relationship. Related: However, MGK recently revealed that Megan was left less than impressed when somebody complimented his parenting skills for simply holding their baby. During an appearance on Today with Jenna and Friends on Thursday, the 35-year-old star immediately rebuked the congratulations for his new addition as he gave all credit to his ex. Related: "It's awesome,' he said of being a parent to a newborn. "I want to detract all of the congrats to me and just move it to Megan because she really does all the work. I keep getting called 'The Music Teacher.'' 'Someone the other day was like: 'You're such a good dad!' just because I was holding the baby or something like that,' MGK went on. 'And she was fuming, like: 'No, no, no, no.' She's the one. I just play the guitar and pray that the baby is happy." Related: And, perhaps unsurprisingly, other moms quickly revealed that they could relate all too well to this seriously frustrating situation as they shared their own 'such a good dad' experiences on a popular Reddit forum. Reflecting on MGK's comments, one person wrote: 'It is very strange. My husband really is a great dad but he gets praised for like whatever. He was holding the baby getting frozen yogurt with one arm and old ladies were like swooning. We stayed at a hotel where I was working a conference and he had the baby for 3 days and the front desk made sure to tell me how great he was for doing that when we checked out. He flew with our eldest two kids by himself and the flight attendants gave him a 'dad beer'. 😒😒😒 Luckily he acknowledges the double standard and doesn't like give himself 1 billion Dad Points for it. But it's annoying that as a mom you are never ever getting your accolades while dads do bare minimum to thunderous applause.' 'I work evenings so my husband often takes the kid grocery shopping, to the library, park, whatever, by himself. He gets endless praise and also a lot of STRANGERS asking him where 'mommy' is. Like apparently something tragic must've happened to me because I left my poor husband alone with the kid 😭😭😂' somebody else echoed. 'It really is a low bar for men. Just existing in a child's life is all it takes to get praise while moms can't do a god damn thing right,' another commented. And one more reiterated: 'My mom had horrible baby dads so she's flabbergasted by my husband. He does something like giving a bath and my mom's all like 'omg he's such a good dad!!!!' Ok enough now.' 'I've even seen posts on here, where it's a pic of [MGK] & daughter and all the comments were praising him. 'Wow he seems like such a good dad'. Like yeah that's the freaking bare minimum to spend time with your kid,' somebody else observed. 'Women NEVER get posts or compliments like that. The bar is in hell for men." In addition to Saga, MGK is dad to a 16-year-old daughter, Casie, and Megan is mom to sons Noah, Bodhi, and Journey from previous relationships.
