Kartik Aaryan and Kriti Sanon starrer Luka Chuppi was one of the most loved films. And now a new report is coming in that the makers are planning for its sequel. Varun Dhawan and Sharvari Wagh may soon team up for the sequel. While an official announcement is still awaited, early reports suggest that Maddock Films is developing Luka Chuppi 2, and the makers are eyeing this fresh pairing for the lead roles.
Mid-day has reported that the film will have a supernatural twist that'll set it apart from the original. According to the latest buzz, Varun and Sharvari have given a thumbs-up to the concept and are expected to formally come on board once the script gets its final touch. Laxman Utekar will director the film. If all goes to plan, the film will hit the floors in the first half of 2026.
The original Luka Chuppi was a surprise box office hit. Now, the sequel is expected to carry forward the same quirky spirit but with a new storyline and cast.
Varun Dhawan, Pooja Hegde, and Mrunal Thakur will be sharing screen space for the first time in the romantic comedy Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai. They are currently shooting in Scotland for the film.
Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai features a star-studded cast including Varun Dhawan, Mrunal Thakur, Pooja Hegde, Maniesh Paul, Rajeev Khandelwal, Mouni Roy, Kubbra Sait, Chunky Pandey, Jimmy Shergill, and Rohit Saraf. Directed by the legendary comedy film director David Dhawan and produced under the banner of Tips Films Pvt. Ltd., the rom-com film is slated for a grand theatrical release in October 2025. Fans are eagerly waiting to watch this romantic comedy with its exciting ensemble cast.
Apart from this, Varun Dhawan has many films lined up in his kitty, including Border 2. Amid this, a new report has surfaced that the actor will be essaying the role of Major Hoshiar Singh Dahiya in the film. He was a Param Vir Chakra awardee. Border 2 was announced in June last year. Sunny Deol is all set to reprise his iconic character from JP Dutta's 1997 blockbuster war film Border, in this highly anticipated sequel. The cast also includes Varun Dhawan, Diljit Dosanjh and Ahan Shetty. The film, directed by Anurag Singh, is backed by a powerhouse production team comprising Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, JP Dutta, and Nidhi Dutta. Border 2 is set to release in the theatres on January 23, 2026.
While Sharvari will be next seen in Alpha with Alia Bhatt. The shoot is going on.
