Katy Perry says she 'got fresh botox for Australia'

7NEWS05-06-2025
Katy Perry says she had botox shortly after arriving in Australia.
The 40-year-old pop star opened her Lifetimes Tour at the Qudos Bank Arena in Sydney on Wednesday night and admitted to her audience she had been struggling with jetlag, particularly because her and Orlando Bloom's four-year-old daughter Daisy had been waking her up at 5am, but joked any visible signs of tiredness weren't there because she'd had the wrinkle-smoothing injections.
'You can't tell I'm tired because I got fresh botox for Australia,' she told the crowd.
Katy also made her audience laugh when she called for her assistant to come on stage and help her unzip her costume.
She explained she was struggling with the garment 'because I've been eating too many Tim Tams'.
During the Choose Your Own Adventure segment of the show, the Teenage Dream hitmaker who will be performing another 14 shows Down Under this month — invited a group of young fans on stage to sing Thinking of You with her, including one boy in a shark costume, which referenced her infamous Left Shark dancer during her 2015 Super Bowl halftime show.
And that wasn't Katy's only interaction with her young fans, as at one point, she bent down from the stage to thank one supporter for 'waiting for five hours' to secure a spot on the front row.
This isn't the first time Katy has confessed to having botox treatments.
Last month, a satirical headline by the Onion joked Katy would be releasing a song called Stop Making Fun of Me alongside a photo of Katy taken in Melbourne last year.
She quipped on Instagram in response: 'This photo is clearly photoshopped I would never let my botox go that long, do better The Onion!'
Katy recently spoke of how much joy her audience brings her, particularly as she has faced a backlash largely due to her participation in Blue Origin's recent all-female space flight, as well as for working with controversial producer Dr Luke — who has been accused of abuse by Kesha — and also faced mocking over the choreography on her Lifetimes tour.
She wrote on an Instagram fan account: 'What's real is seeing your faces every night, singing in unison, reading your notes, feeling your warmth. I find people to lock eyes and sing with and I know we are healing each other in a small way when I get to do that cos l'm not perfect, and I actually have omitted that word from my vocabulary, l'm on a human journey playing the game of life with an audience of many and sometimes I fall but... I get back up and go on and continue to play the game and somehow through my battered and bruised adventure I keep looking to the light and in that light a new level UNLOCKS.'

Tom Cruise and Ana de Armas were seen at an Oasis concert in the background of DJ Goldie's Instagram video. The actor was spotted reaching for his rumoured girlfriend's hand at London's Wembley Stadium. Cruise, 63, and de Armas, 37, were first linked in February when they grabbed dinner together in London and shared a taxi as they exited. An insider told People at the time that it was a professional dinner, explaining the stars were 'discussing potential collaborations down the line.' But their excursions didn't stop there. The Knives Out actress celebrated her 37th birthday with Cruise in London in May. They were spotted taking a helicopter ride together on May 1, with a source exclusively telling us that they shared a lavish meal the next evening in London's swanky Marylebone district. The Top Gun star appeared to be in high spirits as he took a selfie with DJ Goldie. Actress Sienna Miller was also at the gig, posing with the DJ during the show. The Jerry Maguire actor and the Blonde actress also enjoyed a walk in a London park during that same trip. Not long after her birthday celebration, the pair made headlines for sneaking out of David Beckham's 50th birthday together. They were photographed ducking down in the back seat of a black SUV while leaving the party. Later that month, the actress raved about her 'fun' relationship with Cruise and dished on 'a few projects' they were working on together. 'It's so much fun. We're definitely working on a lot of things. Not just one, but a few projects with Doug Liman and Christopher McQuarrie and, of course, Tom. And I'm so excited,' she said on Good Morning America in May. The actress was first linked to Cruise in February when they were seen grabbing dinner in London and sharing a taxi as they left. 'Unapologetic': Tennis great Jelena Dokic stuns in bikini holiday snaps after shedding 20kg and halving her dress size

Jelena Dokic has delivered a powerful message about body positivity she proudly showcased her dramatic weight loss in a series of new photos from her summer holiday in Croatia. The 42-year-old former tennis champion and Channel Nine sports commentator took to Instagram on Sunday, sharing sun-soaked snaps from her time abroad, posing confidently in a bikini and a red linen dress by the ocean. "Me, free and unapologetically myself," Dokic wrote. "Be you. Be unapologetically you. You've got one life to live so live it free and be your unapologetic self. "You can't go through life worrying about what everyone else is going to think-whether it's your body, your size, your hair, your clothes, what you have, what you believe or how you feel," she added. The 2025 Gold Logie nominee was flooded with support from fans in the comments section. "You are looking beautiful and at peace!! So much wisdom in those words," one wrote. Another added: "Beautifully said" while a third commented: "Well said Jelena. Looking amazing and so happy." The former World Number Four's post follows a recent social media upload in which she opened up about her dramatic transformation, sharing side-by-side photos of herself at size 20 and size 10, and reflecting on the constant public scrutiny she's faced at both ends of the scale. "When I was a size 20 someone always complained and now that I am a size 10 someone is always complaining too," she wrote. "It baffles me how there is always some troll, bully or unkind person out there that has to comment or put someone down." She said that when she was larger, she was regularly insulted with slurs like "whale, cow and fat," and often asked what had "happened to her size". "Now that I am a size 10, I have apparently jumped on the 'diet' culture whatever that means—it's now bad that I am healthier and lost some weight, and I have abandoned standing up for plus-size people," she said. "Just goes to show, nothing will ever be good enough for people, and that's sad." Her latest post continued on a similar thread, with Dokic reminding her followers not to let others' judgment weigh them down. "You can't worry about other people's judgment and what they have to say, because someone will always have something to say," she wrote. "Their judgment says everything about them… so be yourself. "100 per cent unapologetically you. Live this life freely and authentically. Because you only have one life to live. Be you. Love, Jelena xoxo." The post also comes just weeks after she went public with her new partner, Melbourne-based hospitality operations manager Yane Veselinov. On July 14, she shared a sweet selfie of the pair with the caption: "You are my calm, safe, peaceful and happy place. So glad I found you."

‘Overweight' Tom Papley claps back at Toby Greene with midnight DM sledge

Suspended GWS captain Toby Greene has revealed a cheeky midnight post-script to his battle with Tom Papley after the most pointed half-time interview of the season last Friday night. Papley earned the ire of the Giants skipper in the first half and the prickly forward was still mouthing off at Greene as they left the field for the main break. Frustrated that he was being interviewed at the time, Greene used the moment to swipe Papley. 'He's looking overweight, we'll see how he goes (in the) second half,' Greene said before inspiring an extraordinary turnaround from nearly five goals down to win by 44 points. The rare personal jab prompted questions over whether the AFL could take action — but it has now emerged just why Papley, Sydney and GWS brushed it off as a harmless joke. Papley, as it turns out, took it in his stride. 'I was sitting on the couch at midnight, had got home and I was just watching Tour de France,' Greene said on his Ausmerican Aces podcast. 'And on my Instagram message 'Tom Papley' comes up and I go 'oh here we go'. I was like what's this going to be. 'And it's just a photo of him eating McDonald's. It was pretty funny, I had a good laugh at that — that was good by him. It was pretty sharp by him.' Greene's co-host and former AFL teammate Tommy Sheridan then shared that Papley had also been in touch with him before recording the episode. 'He's asked me to ask you a question so I'm going to ask you now — 'just ask Toby what his skinfolds are',' Sheridan said. Papley had filmed himself getting his skinfolds tested to fire a second shot back at Greene. 'Interesting time for skinfolds. What was the result there? 37.5,' Papley said in the video with a knowing nod. Greene replied on his podcast: '37.5, that's good from him. Yeah, he's in good nick there actually.' 'I didn't mean he was fat, I meant he was underdone — he hasn't really played much footy and I knew he'd rushed back in for the game,' he said. 'That's what I meant but yeah, well done to him there, that's good from him.' Papley signalled the end of the chapter with a reply to the video of Greene's reaction: 'Good fun.' Greene's jibe was thought to have been a response to Papley broaching the subject of Jake Stringer's weight during a back-and-forth between the pair on the boundary line. On the podcast, Greene shared that more Papley verbals contributed to his 'overweight' remark. 'There was a lot going on before that moment. They were really up and about, and he'd certainly had a fair bit to say throughout the first half, and I didn't get near it,' the Giants star said. 'We were playing horrible. I was pretty furious at half-time. I saw (commentator) Ben Dixon walking towards me. I was like 'f*** don't interview me, please don't interview me'. 'While that interview (is happening), you can't really hear it, he (Papley) is just ripping into me while I'm getting interviewed, and I can't really say too much. I can't say anything. I can't go back at him mid-interview. 'Dicko's asking questions. I can't concentrate, I was that angry, mate. He's worded me up with a question about Paps, so I thought I handed it reasonably well, to be honest. 'I wasn't really going at his weight, although that's what I said. I knew he was underdone, and he probably shouldn't have been playing, so that's kind of what I meant by the comment. 'When I said it, I was like 'shouldn't have said that, that was stupid'. Again, the emotions got the better of me, and I could just hear Paps f***ing yapping away in my ear, I was like 'this dickhead'. While Greene escaped punishment for the interview, he did receive a one-match ban for striking Isaac Heeney. The GWS captain will miss his side's important finals-shaping clash with the Western Bulldogs at Marvel Stadium on Thursday night.
