New coach alert? Orlando Pirates target addresses links!

Orlando Pirates continue to keep their cards closed regarding who will be Jose Riveiro's successor; but former Mamelodi Sundowns managers Rulani Mokwena and Pitso Mosimane are rumoured to be on their radar.
However, both are being monitored by North African giants Zamalek FC, who will be flying high after their recent Egytpian Cup triumph over Pyramids FC.
Mokwena addressed the links, which will have the Buccaneers pondering whether he wants to fight for the job.
'I didn't hear from them (Zamalek) after I had said I heard that coach Pitso was also in the running for this position,' Mokwena told SuperSport's Africa Soccer show.
'My relationship and my respect for him would not allow me to compete for the same coaching job with coach Pitso. It just wouldn't sit well with me, so I pulled out. I said I would rather they give it to Pitso.'
'Exactly what you are saying, my agent said, 'But this is a big club', and I said my respect for Pitso and what he has done for my career wouldn't allow me to do that.'
While the future surrounding Monnapule Saleng continues to drag out with little-to-no clarity, Orlando Pirates are reportedly in the hunt for starlet Jaedin Rhodes – another sign that the 27-year-old's days in Soweto are limited
'One of those reinforcements could be a long-time target, Jaedin Rhodes. Although the 22-year-old has endured an underwhelming season with Cape Town City, he remains a high priority on the Buccaneers' list,' a source said.
'The club [Orlando Pirates] has been met with resistance by City in previous attempts to lure Rhodes to Gauteng, but according to sources, will try once more in the upcoming window. Complicating matters will be the Citizens' peculiar situation.'

Three Orlando Pirates players who should be given a fair chance

Orlando Pirates have released four players to make space for more ahead of the new season. The Buccaneers finished second in the Betway Premiership last season and also secured their third successive MTN8 title. Under Jose Riveiro, Pirates won five trophies in three seasons, but the Spaniard has since departed to join Egyptian giants Al Ahly. Looking ahead to the 2025/26 season, the Buccaneers are without a coach and have released four players in the past weeks. With experienced players such as Makhehlene Makhaula, Olisa Ndah and Tapelo Xoki, Orlando Pirates still have experience and could build on next season. With Mamelodi Sundowns competing in the FIFA Club World Cup, this is the perfect chance for the Soweto giants to go into the transfer market and sign top players around the continent. With more signings to come, the Buccaneers have to ensure they don't release impact players. Tshegofatso Mabasa Mabasa only scored seven goals in the league last season. The 28-year-old striker needs to be backed ahead of Evidence Makgopa ahead of the new campaign. An in-form Mabasa is more lethal and can score atleast 15 goals in the league alone, given the right service and backing. Thabiso Lebitso Lebitso played 13 matches across all competitions in his debut season for the Buccaneers. He famously scored in the Soweto Derby against Kaizer Chiefs last year, helping his side to a 3-2 victory at the FNB Stadium. Unfortunately, injuries halted his season and forced him to watch from the sidelines. This past season, Lebitso played just two matches and all his appearances came in the CAF Champions League. With Deano van Rooyen having secured the right-back position, Lebitso is a perfect replacement. He should feature more, given how many matches the Sea Robbers will play next season. Karim Kimvuidi Kimvuidi is no doubt one of the Orlando Pirates players who have impressed when making an appearance. The Congolese attacker only made eight league showing but many Bucs fans feel like he should be given a fair chance. Kaizer Chiefs news: Zwane, Mthethwa, Nabi, R20 million

Kaizer Chiefs are hoping to sign the type of firepower that will propel them to title-chasing status. It's been a sorry era for the Soweto giants, who have finished out of the top ten in the last two successive seasons. However, they did manage to end their ten-year trophy drought after lifting the Nedbank Cup in May. Head coach Nasreddine Nabi has given Kaizer Chiefs an ultimatum: cough up the finances to sign stars, or he'll walk away. 'I wouldn't be honest if say that I'm going to stay if the club doesn't allow me to get all the tools to succeed next season because they have promised, and myself, I have promised the fans that I want to build a successful team that will compete in every competition to win trophies,' Nabi said. 'That's the condition for me to stay [at Chiefs] because I don't feel that I want to go through what I went through this season.' Regarding long-term target Fiston Mayele, the Glamour Boys are said to be R20 million short, dampening their chances of signing the in-from striker. Meanwhile, there's growing speculation that the club is open to loaning youngster Samkelo Zwane next season as Kaizer Chiefs continue to hunt additional midfielders; however, they are keen on keeping Sibongiseni Mthethwa having offered him a two-year contract extension. 'The club has already taken the initiative to keep the midfielder for two more years,' an inside source revealed. 'The talks are believed to have started before the end of the season. But apparently things are looking good. It will all now depend on what both parties are looking at. But the talks are open.' Another source reaffirmed the speculation, saying, 'Yes, he didn't start well under coach Nasreddine Nabi. We think he didn't understand him. But now they are happy with him and that's why they are offering him a two-year deal.' Let us know by leaving a comment below, or send a WhatsApp to 060 011 021 1. Two PSL clubs in for Sundowns outcast

Former Mamelodi Sundowns star Rivaldo Coetzee has packed and left the Betway Premiership supremos. Coetzee, 27, who has won no fewer than seven Premier Soccer League titles with Sundowns, was allowed to depart after his contract expired. Meanwhile, Stellenbosch FC and Sekhukhune United are said to be showing interest in the former Bafana Bafana star. Orlando Pirates lineup with the new signings 'Stellies are very keen, but they haven't made a formal approach yet. Sekhukhune are also interested,' a source told the Citizen . 'He's only 28 and can play different roles which makes him valuable. At this stage, it's still early and his camp is in no rush to make a decision,' the insider added.
