OIC Condemns Israeli Occupation Prime Minister's Racist Remarks and Provocative Visit to Illegal Settlement in Occupied West Bank
The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) strongly condemns the provocative visit made by the Prime Minister of the Israeli occupation to the "Ofra" settlement illegally established in the occupied West Bank.
The visit was accompanied by racist statements in which he affirmed "the importance of preserving settlements and holding on to the Land of Israel'.
He also declared that he "will do everything to ensure continued attachment to the Land of Israel and to prevent the establishment of a Palestinian state."
The OIC affirms that this constitutes a further escalation of Israel's blatant violations of international law and UN resolutions, particularly UN Security Council Resolution 2334 and the advisory opinion of the International Court of Justice, both of which affirm the illegality of the Israeli occupation and settlement activity and call for their immediate termination.
The OIC also asserts that the visit and the aggressive rhetoric reflect Israel's expansionist and colonial intentions, as the occupying power, and its persistent defiance of the will of the international community, as well as its undermining of all efforts aimed at 'achieving a just and comprehensive peace in the region based on the two-state solution'.
The OIC calls on the international community, particularly the UN Security Council, to shoulder its responsibilities in ending the Israeli occupation and colonial settlement activity, and to ensure international protection for the Palestinian people.

Dutch FM regrets incident at the Egyptian embassy in The Hague
Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty received a phone call on Monday from Dutch Foreign Minister Caspar Veldkamp as part of their regular consultations on ways to strengthen bilateral relations and exchange views on the latest developments in the Gaza Strip. Abdelatty stressed the importance of providing security protection for the Egyptian diplomatic mission in the Netherlands, noting the Dutch responsibility under international law to protect it from any violations. He referred to the attack on the Egyptian embassy building in The Hague. and the Dutch responsibility to prevent its recurrence, which led to measures being taken by the Dutch side in this regard. The Dutch Minister expressed his deep regret over the incident. Veldkamp indicated that he had spoken about the matter with the relevant security authorities and that they intend to intensify security measures at the Egyptian embassy, in line with the responsibilities of the host country under relevant international agreements. He emphasized the close relations between his country and Egypt, based on mutual respect and shared interests. Veldkamp also emphasized the importance of advancing bilateral relations in various fields, particularly in the economic, trade, and investment sectors, and enhancing cooperation across various sectors to serve the interests of both peoples. The two ministers exchanged views on developments in the Middle East, particularly the catastrophic state of the Gaza Strip. Abdelatty assured his Dutch counterpart of Egypt's ongoing intensive efforts to reach a truce that includes a ceasefire, unrestricted aid entry, and the release of a number of Palestinian prisoners. He also emphasized Hamas's acceptance of most of the provisions of US envoy Steve Witkoff's proposal, and the importance of the Israeli side's approval for the proposal. Abdelatty noted that the Rafah crossing operates 24 hours a day on the Egyptian side and emphasized the importance of pressuring the Israeli side to open the crossings linking Israel to the Gaza Strip. He asked his Dutch counterpart to leverage the Netherlands' role within the European Union to halt the humanitarian catastrophe in Gaza. Edited translation from Al-Masry Al-Youm

Syrian, Israeli diplomats met in Paris to discuss de-escalation: Syrian state media - Region
Syria's foreign minister met with an Israeli delegation in Paris to discuss de-escalation and the situation in Druze-majority Sweida province after deadly sectarian violence last month, state media reported Wednesday. State news agency SANA said late Tuesday that Syrian Foreign Minister Asaad al-Shaibani and Israeli Strategic Affairs Minister Ron Dermer discussed "de-escalation and non-interference in Syria's internal affairs". It said their talks also addressed monitoring the Sweida ceasefire announced by the United States last month. Syrian state television reported an unidentified government source as saying Wednesday that Syria's intelligence chief also attended the meeting. "Both sides affirmed their commitment to the unity of Syrian territory... and that Sweida is an integral part of Syria," it reported. A week of violence began on July 13 with clashes between Druze fighters and Sunni Bedouin, but rapidly escalated, drawing in government forces, with Israel also carrying out strikes. Israel, which has its own Druze community, has said it acted to defend the minority group as well as to enforce its own demands for the demilitarisation of southern Syria. "These talks are taking place under US mediation, as part of diplomatic efforts aimed at enhancing security and stability in Syria and preserving the unity and integrity of its territory," SANA said, adding they resulted in "understandings that support stability in the region". Israel and Syria have technically remained at war since 1948. As an Islamist-led offensive late last year toppled longtime Syrian ruler Bashar al-Assad, Israel deployed troops to the UN-patrolled buffer zone on the Golan Heights which has separated Israeli and Syrian forces since the armistice that followed the 1973 Arab-Israeli war. State television, quoting the government source, said "the two sides discussed the need to reach a clear mechanism to reactivate the 1974 disengagement agreement". Discussions also addressed the humanitarian situation in southern Syria, with both parties agreeing on "the need to intensify assistance for the people of Sweida and the Bedouin", it reported. Hundreds demonstrated in Sweida on Saturday, calling for self-determination and some raising Israeli flags and accusing Damascus of imposing a blockade, something officials have denied, pointing to the entry of several aid convoys. Paris hosted a similar meeting between Shaibani and Dermer last month, while a diplomatic source previously told AFP that other face-to-face meetings were held in Baku. US envoy for Syria Thomas Barrack said on X late Tuesday that he met with Israeli Druze spiritual leader Mowafaq Tarif, discussing Sweida "and how to bring together the interests of all parties, de-escalate tensions, and build understanding".
