Kym has now revealed that she has felt a lack of support from some of those close to her, during her time of extreme heartbreak.
Taking to her Instagram Stories, the former Coronation Street star said: "Friends are the family you chose!
"Thank you so much to everyone who has checked in today to see how I am when I needed you the most! I love you all!
"Those that haven't… you know who you are!"
Yesterday, a heartbroken Kym revealed the sad news that she was saying goodbye to her cousin Carl.
The actress and singer took to Instagram to reveal her devastation.
She wrote: "I can't believe I'm writing this. Today our family say goodbye to Carl. My cousin. A legend to all who knew him.
"A light turned out far too soon. A huge hole in our lives that will never be filled. Sometimes life makes no sense. There are times when you just can't understand how such cruel things happen, to good honest people.
"This is one of those times. Carl was the kindest, funniest, most unique person I've ever known. The memories I have of us growing up, the camping holidays with the fam, the laughs, your silliness, your loyalty."
Kym called him "one of a kind" and said she would miss him "until the end of time".
Coronation Street star Frank Grimes dies aged 78 as tributes paid to 'one of Ireland's greatest actors'
She continued: "And I know you would be telling me to stop being a silly a**e and stop crying, and that you would want me to be where I am doing what I'm doing. Doesn't stop me wishing I was there, or thinking of my family today, or grieving, or wishing I could make this better for everyone.
"I know that the family will give you the best send off cuz and that they will do you proud. We will love you forever and always. Good night god bless my wonderful cousin. Sleep tight."
The news came after her onscreen father in Coronation Street, Frank Grimes, also passed away.
Kym, who played Michelle Connor in the soap, starred opposite the screen veteran during his time on the cobbles.
It's understood that Frank, who played Barry Connor in Corrie over 50 episodes, passed away in the early hours of Friday, August 1, surrounded by his family.
The Dublin born star was well-respected for his work both in Ireland and in the UK.
And announcing his passing, the Irish Cultural Centre in London said Grimes was "one of Ireland's greatest actors."
In a tribute, they said he was "so warm hearted, full of Dublin wit and charm in abundance and he had a beautiful sparkle in his eyes."
They continued: "We know that Ireland has lost one of its truly great actors, the vintage of which is so rare and may never ever be matched again.
"We are so sad to have to say goodbye to Frank, but we are also so blessed to have known him, to have worked with him and seen him perform.
"We send our sincere condolences to his wife Ginnette, his daughter Tilly, his son Andrew, his 7 grandchildren and to all his extended family.
"We also send our condolences to all of Frank's friends and loved ones - May Frank sleep easy now and Rest In Peace."

Christopher Biggins defends Gregg Wallace by making bizarre claim

Christopher Biggins, 76, has defended sacked MasterChef host Gregg Wallace by stating he used to "grab women by the t***ies," claiming it was considered "affection" 25 years ago. Biggins, who is gay, joked that such actions would now lead to imprisonment, suggesting that people are "terrified" and comedians face a tough job. Refuge ambassador and former Love Island star Sharon Gaffka criticised Biggins' comments, stating: 'Touching someone without their consent, regardless of the context, is never funny'. Gregg Wallace's position on MasterChef became "untenable" after an investigation upheld 45 of 83 allegations against him, including inappropriate sexual language and unwelcome physical contact. John Torode, Wallace's co-presenter, was also sacked after a complaint against him involving an "extremely offensive racist term" was upheld.

Coronation Street star Maureen Lipman considering plastic surgery after soap role

Dame Maureen Lipman returned to Coronation Street back in 2018, which is sixteen years after she first starred as Lillian Spencer, and she now plays the role of Evelyn Plummer Dame Maureen Lipman has opened up about how starring in Coronation Street has made her think about getting plastic surgery. The actress first step foot on the cobbles in a guest appearance as Lillian Spencer and has now been a regular face since 2018 playing Evelyn Plummer. ‌ The 79-year-old talked about how she felt about how she looked in an interview three years ago. She has said that she hasn't thought about really going under the knife but there is one thing that she'd like to tweak. ‌ In a resurfaced interview, Maureen said that while watching herself back on the ITV soap, she had noticed bags under her eyes. Pointing these out, she said this is an area she'd like to have "tidied up". It comes after a Coronation Street and Mrs Brown's Boys actor dies after short illness. ‌ Speaking to the Daily Mail, she was asked if she'd have plastic surgery to which she said: "No, but I might have the bags under my eyes tidied up. I sometimes watch myself under the harsh lightning of Coronation Street and I can get a bit neurotic about how I look." The star has also shed light on some of the challenges when it comes to being an actress on a popular soap. Fans have noticed that she has been absent from recent episodes due to her taking a break from filming. ‌ Maureen said that she has no plans to retire, insisting she'll "carry on as much as I'm wanted" or until she can't physically continue. Despite loving her role on the soap, she acknowledges there's a "big problem" with the nature of filming for such a popular ITV series. ‌ On the 20 Questions podcast, Maureen revealed: "One of the problems of being in a soap, for example, is that because you are doing eight or 10 scenes a day, you read it, you move it, and then you film it. Thank you." Explaining the rapid pace of production, she said: "You might get another crack if something has gone wrong technically, but on the whole, that's it. It's almost like radio but there are cameras there, so you can't do anything. People are just talking heads." Maureen has had an impressive career which first started back in 1971. Her first job was with the National Theatre Company before she later transitioned to television, making her debut in the sitcom The Lovers in 1975. Her breakout role came four years later in the sitcom Agony. In 1987, she landed the part of Beatrice "Beattie" Bellman in the adverts for BT. She particularly rose to fame with the iconic "You Got an Ology" advert, which became so popular that people would shout it back to her on the streets.
