Marvel star Simu Liu has defended Pedro Pascal amid the ongoing criticism of the actor. The Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings took to social media to praise Pascal's latest film, The Fantastic Four: First Steps, after attending the premiere. In a separate post, he also talked about the 'online hate,' seemingly referring to the actor.
Simu Liu slams online hate campaign against Pedro Pascal
Barbie star Simu Liu loved everything about the new Marvel film, The Fantastic Four: First Steps, including its cast, which includes Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, and Joseph Quinn. The 36-year-old recently gushed over the movie on Threads while also backing up The Last of Us star, who has been the center of rampant online flak.
Liu shared a glimpse of his red carpet moment at the premiere of The Fantastic Four with the caption, 'Love this movie, love pedro, love vanessa, love joe, love ebon…'
In another thread, he seemed to refer to the alleged hate that Pascal is getting, writing, 'manufactured hate for someone simply because they're experiencing a moment of extreme visibility (ie a press tour they contractually obligated to do) is really f——- boring.'
For the unversed, the criticism against Pascal started from several online troll accounts claiming that the Materialists star is 'touchy' around his co-actors. Fans mostly pointed out the close relationship between Pascal and Kirby.
While both the actors have been transparent about their friendship, some netizens described Pascal's behavior as 'weird' around female co-stars. Recently, fans also found videos of Pascal's playful interactions with Willem Dafoe's wife, Giada Colagrande, during Dafoe's Hollywood Walk of Fame ceremony in January 2024.
The clip shows Pascal touching Colagrande's chin for a few seconds while standing next to Dafoe. While the short video lacks any context, some social media users claimed that Dafoe's expression might have appeared to change after Pascal touched Colagrande's chin.
While some netizens are trolling Pascal's behavior, many have also come to the actor's defense, condemning the unnecessary backlash. One fan noted under Liu's post, 'It's truly pathetic, and so are both the men and the women that are turning this into a debacle OVER TWO CONSENTING ADULTS. When consent has ALWAYS been the key factor, suddenly doesn't matter because one is married, like? Make it make sense.'

YouTube is testing Instagram-style collabs

YouTube has started testing a new collaboration feature, similar to Instagram's and TikTok's. A Google employee explained on YouTube Help that it will allow creators to add collaborators to a video so that they can be recommended to each other's audiences. The test is only available to a small group of creators for now, but it sounds like YouTube has plans to expand its availability in the future. Lindsey Gamble, an influencer marketing consultant and advisor, has posted a screenshot showing how the experimental feature works on Threads. As you can see in the image Gamble posted, adding collaborators would show their names next to the creators on their channel. If there are too many, at least on mobile, the collaborators would show as "...and more" next to the creator's name. Tapping on it would bring up the list of people involved in the project, with the Subscribe button next to their name. On Instagram and TikTok, the creator who uploads the content will have to invite another account as a collaborator, who'll then have to approve the invitation. That'll most likely be the case here, as well, in order to ensure that creators don't randomly add other users to their videos. It's not clear, however, whether the collaborators can see details typically reserved for the uploader's eyes. As with any experimental YouTube and Google product, the company will be taking the testers' feedback into account before deciding if it'll give the feature a wide release. fff

SPIDER-MAN: BRAND NEW DAY – Our First FULL Look at Tom Holland's Amazing New Suit! — GeekTyrant

Spider-Man is back, and he's rocking a whole new vibe. Marvel Studios and Sony Pictures just dropped the first full look at Tom Holland's latest Spider-suit for Spider-Man: Brand New Day in a new video, and it's sure to get fans excited! The suit made a brief appearance in yesterday's teaser, but now we've got the full reveal, and it's designed with a clear nod to the suits worn by Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield, this version brings together the designs of both Spidey worlds. There's the deep, matte red, the navy blue mesh texture reminiscent of Garfield's The Amazing Spider-Man 2 , and the raised black webbing that channels the Raimi-era aesthetic. Right in the center, the spider emblem is larger and more angular, combining classic boldness with the sleek lines seen in Holland's earlier MCU appearances. The suit also looks like it's more homemade and there's no Stark tech. No gadgets, no AI, just Peter Parker doing it all on his own. It's a perfect reflection of where the character is now. As you know, Peter was stripped of his identity after the memory wipe in Spider-Man: No Way Home , and starting over without his former support system. Set photos have already started popping up online, with production kicking off in Glasgow, Scotland, once again subbing in for New York City. Keep your eyes peeled, because more glimpses of the new suit are sure to surface. Directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, Spider-Man: Brand New Day is slated for release on July 31, 2026, as part of Phase Six of the MCU. Returning writers Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers are handling the script, which reportedly takes Peter back to being a street-level hero in NYC. The movie is said to be relatively standalone but is expected to set the stage for next December's massive crossover Avengers: Doomsday . The film's cast is stacked alongside Holland, featuring Zendaya, Jacob Batalon, Sadie Sink, Liza Colón-Zayas, Jon Bernthal, Mark Ruffalo, and Michael Mando. Spider-Man: Brand New Day swings into theaters July 31, 2026. Check out the video below and let us know what you think of the new suit!

Disney+ Just Dropped A 100% Scored, Canon MCU Show Without A Word

While I know that Disney has said it's scaling back its Marvel TV series ambitions, what they've been doing lately with their 'leftover' shows is nothing short of bizarre. Last time it was Ironheart, released with little fanfare in two weeks of episode dumps. Today? It's Eyes of Wakanda, a new MCU series that unlike What If…? and its multiverses, is full MCU main-Earth canon. Eyes of Wakanda is a four-episode series that was binge-dumped today, and it's more like a two-hour movie with 30-minute episode lengths. The synopsis is: 'Wakandan warriors throughout history go on dangerous missions to retrieve Vibranium artifacts.' The episodes span a wide range, including one taking place during the Trojan War and another featuring the fourth Iron Fist we've seen in the MCU, one from far in the past. Kind of a big deal! Again, this may be centuries before the events of the current MCU, but everything in here is canon, and it's been added to the official timeline of the universe, beating out Captain America: The First Avenger, which obviously kicked things off during World War II. Disney did not appear to think it was worth bothering with really any promotion for this at all, not in the run-up to launch nor today on launch day. Though I suppose it did show me it first when I logged in. Eyes of Wakanda has made it to enough critics to gather eight reviews, all of which are positive, to give it a 100% score. I'm not sure how many more will be added here. I've started the series, and I already like it more than What If…?, a series that I think went deeply off the rails by the end. I don't love the animation style, personally, but the storytelling is very solid so far. The next two Marvel shows coming up are Marvel Zombies in December 2025 and Wonder Man in July 2026. We will also see a new season of Daredevil and the Punisher special. VisionQuest will be coming up at some point. For now, Eyes of Wakanda is a quick watch and helps bolster the lore of the Marvel Cinematic Universe by heading further in the past than we've ever seen before, and the deep roots of Wakanda are the perfect mechanism to do so.
