Lexus Sport concept unveiled: LFA successor on the horizon?
Revealed at the 2025 Edition of The Quail motorsport gathering during this year's Monterey Car Week, while a camouflaged prototype of this car was showcased at the 2025 Goodwood Festival of Speed, the unveiling of the Lexus Sport Concept marks the first time this future-focused concept car has been seen undisguised by the public.
Official powertrain specifications remain under wraps, but from the howling soundtrack it produced when running up the Goodwood Hill (watch the footage here…and remember to turn up the sound), it could just be what reports have suggested – a V8 equipped with forced induction in the form of turbocharging and incorporating electric assistance. Reports have also suggested the hybrid setup could be coupled with a transaxle transmission.
As a reminder, the Lexus LFA employed a 4.8l naturally aspirated V10. Co-developed by Yamaha, the LFA's powertrain produced a peak power output of 412kW and 480N.m of torque, the former and latter available from 8 700 and 6 800 r/min, respectively.
The Sport Concept's design seems to draw inspiration from the LC500 and the legendary LFA, with standout details of the front facia including sharp daytime-running lights and triangular bonnet vents. The Sport Concept's sculpted profile sits atop a set of large wheels and flows towards a rear end that's characterised by a striking lighting array and large rear diffuser.

Bentley debuts hand-painted Ombre finish at Monterey Car Week
Bentley used the opulent backdrop of Monterey Car Week to showcase one of its most intricate paint processes yet: a hand-applied two-tone finish called 'Ombre by Mulliner'. Developed at the brand's Crewe Dream Factory in the UK, the technique blends two exterior colours across the length of the car. The process requires about 56 hours of labour from two paint technicians, who gradually layer tinted paint to achieve a uniform fade. Because each paint combination behaves differently during application, Bentley says every car will be subtly different and unique. The first model to receive the treatment is a new Continental GT Speed, displayed at this weekend's The Quail, A Motorsports Gathering. Its bodywork transitions from Topaz at the front to Windsor Blue at the rear, with the fade aligned to the car's rear haunch line. Matching 22-inch ten-spoke swept alloy wheels mirror the same colour split. Inside, Mulliner's design studio extended the gradient effect from the cabin's front to rear. Topaz leather dominates the front seats, steering wheel and instrument panel, fading into Beluga hide in the back. Dragonfly-coloured piping and stitching provide contrast, while the trim features Satin Beluga veneers. Standard options include Bentley's Rotating Display, a Naim audio system and the popular Dark Chrome interior package. After its Monterey debut, Mulliner confirmed that Ombre finishes – in three curated fade options – are now available to order through Bentley's global dealer network.

GMSV debuts two Le Mans-inspired supercars
Gordon Murray Special Vehicles (GMSV) has made its public debut at Monterey Car Week in California with the unveiling of two limited-run models inspired by the 24 Hours of Le Mans. The new company, which operates alongside Gordon Murray Automotive (GMA), will specialise in one-off commissions, limited-edition designs and heritage-inspired continuations. While GMA produces hand-built production cars such as the T.50, GMSV will focus on more bespoke projects for well-heeled collectors. GMSV S1 LM The first project to leave the workshop is the S1 LM, short for 'Special One Le Mans'. Limited to five units, it pays homage to Murray's 1995 Le Mans victory with the legendary and now much sought-after McLaren F1 GTR. The S1 LM features a lowered roofline, full-carbon fibre bodywork and an aero package that includes a splitter, diffuser and dual-element rear wing. Power comes from a bespoke 4.3 l V12 producing more than 510kW and capable of revving to a stratospheric 12,100rpm. The engine is paired with a short-throw six-speed manual gearbox derived from the one used in the T.50 and a bespoke Inconel exhaust system wrapped in 18-carat gold heat shielding. GMSV says the S1 LM's suspension is bespoke, with new geometry, a lower ride height and unique damper settings to deliver a 'sharp and highly connected driving experience'. Inside, the car retains Murray's signature central driving position. The race-inspired cockpit is pared back and minimalist, with lightweight materials and a focus on driver engagement. Deliveries of the S1 LM are expected to begin in 2026. GMSV Le Mans GTR The second model to break cover is the Le Mans GTR, which draws design cues from longtail racers of the 1970s to 1990s, including Murray's own McLaren F1 GTR. Only 24 examples will be produced, each representing one hour of the famous endurance race. Like the S1 LM, the Le Mans GTR is powered by a naturally aspirated V12 paired with a six-speed manual gearbox. The car adopts an aerodynamics-led design with a full-width rear wing, twin-channel diffuser and roof-mounted ram-air intake. Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tyres, a wider track and stiffer suspension further underline its track-inspired intent, as does greater cooling efficiency and optimised weight distribution. Special side vents ahead of the rear wheels help keep engine and transmission temperatures in check even under hard driving, while specially designed solid engine mounts are said to boost dynamics further without sacrificing much NVH refinement. Though more focused than the T.50 road car, the GTR retains customisable interior finishes, with owners able to choose materials and colours inspired by historic racing liveries. Production is scheduled to start in 2026 but all 24 cars have already been sold.

Lamborghini Fenomeno is brand's most powerful hypercar
Lamborghini unveiled its new Fenomeno hypercar at Monterey Car Week. Limited to 30 examples, one of which will remain in the Italian carmaker's museum, the exotic machine is based on Revuelto underpinnings and takes its name from a fearsome Mexican fighting bull. It also happens to be the fastest, most powerful Lamborghini ever produced. Clothed in bespoke lightweight carbon fibre bodywork, the Fenomeno bristles with dramatic angles, streamlined shapes and gaping air intakes inspired by race cars such as the Huracán GT3. The visual drama is amplified by a downforce-generating S-Duct system, a tapering longtail, an active rear wing with three positions, spindly Y-shaped LED taillights and a huge hexagonal exhaust outlet. Filling the arches are centre-locking forged alloy wheels with a turbine design. They're staggered in size (21" front, 22" rear) and fitted with Bridgestone Potenza Sport tyres. A slightly smaller, track-orientated set (20" front, 21" rear) is available as an option and features more aggressive Bridgestone rubber. Power comes from an upgraded 6.5 l V12 engine producing 614kW at 9,250rpm and 725Nm at 6,750rpm, thanks to a redesigned valvetrain. The naturally aspirated screamer is paired with three electric motors, one integrated into the double-clutch eight-speed transmission and two mounted directly to the front axle. Energy is supplied by a larger 7kWh battery (up from 3.8kWh) built into the central tunnel. Together, the hybrid system delivers a total output of 795kW, enough to launch the Fenomeno from 0–100km/h in a claimed 2.4 seconds, 0–200km/h in 6.7 seconds and on to a top speed of more than 350km/h. To keep performance in check, Lamborghini has fitted its advanced CCM-R Plus carbon-ceramic brakes, similar to those used on the SC63 LMDh prototype. While the Revuelto carves up corners with adaptive dampers, the Fenomeno goes back to (relative) basics with manually adjustable units that, according to the carmaker, can be 'calibrated to allow the perfect stance and setup to be achieved for the track and type of use'. Inside the Fenomeno retains much of the Revuelto's familiar cabin architecture, but with unique touches. These include more liberal use of lightweight carbon fibre on the centre console, door panels and bucket seats. The latter were designed specifically for the Fenomeno, as were the air vents in the carbon-fibre instrument cluster, produced using 3D printing technology. A model-specific ambient lighting system further emphasises the spaceship-like forms of the passenger compartment, enhancing the on-board experience. The new Lamborghini Fenomeno is priced at around €3m (R61.7m), and all 29 customer cars have been sold.
