SunSport were first to exclusively reveal Celtic's interest in Yamada last month.
And we told you last week that Yamada's transfer to Celtic was edging ever closer - but would only happen AFTER his international commitments.
The frontman was selected in the Japan squad for the E-1 Football Championship in South Korea over the past week and made his international debut in the process.
Yamada, who hit 19 goals for Kawasaki Frontale last season, was picked for the four-team tournament that concluded on Tuesday night, with Japan crowned champions.
Just a day later, Yamada was back with his club side.
Given he'd just been on international duty, he didn't feature as Kawasaki faced Sagamihara in an Emperor's Cup clash.
But he did receive a rather emotional farewell from the fans he's played in front of since 2022.
One video has emerged from Japan showing the Kawasaki fans' touching tribute to the striker.
They unfurled a huge banner in the stands, which featured Yamada's face on a Scottish flag.
It also contained his name, 'Shin,' several times.

There was also a compilation video of Yamada's highlights from his time at the club played through the big screens in the stadium.
Other footage shows a visibly emotional Yamada, wearing his Kawasaki kit, walking around the pitch to a great reception.
Clearly holding back the tears, Yamada waves and applauds to the fans who are clapping him.
While he managed to stop himself crying at that point, another video shows that he didn't quite manage to keep the tears at bay.
Yamada can be seen addressing a section of the supporters with a megaphone.

As he begins his speech, he has to take a few moments to regain his composure as he wipes away tears from his eyes.
Yamada is now set to travel to seal his move to Celtic.
Brendan Rodgers has already added five players to his squad this summer.
Kieran Tierney, Ross Doohan, Benji Nygren and Callum Osmand are the new recruits with Yamada set to be the next arrival.

Ex-Celtic and Hibs star ‘attracts interest from Sassuolo' as Serie A side eye move for another Scot to join Josh Doig
Click to share on X/Twitter (Opens in new window) Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) SASSUOLO are reportedly lining up a move to bring another Scottish player to Emilia-Romagna. The newly-promoted Serie A side already have Josh Doig in their ranks, who played a key role in their Serie B title-winning campaign last season. The former Hibs youngster has since been linked with the likes of Juventus following his standout campaign in Serie B. But should the left-back remain at Sassuolo for their Serie A push then he could link up with another player who once starred for the Easter Road club - and Celtic. According to reports in Italy, Scottish midfielder Liam Henderson is being targeted by the Serie B champions on a free transfer. The 29-year-old was the one who started the trend of Scottish players heading to Italy when he left Glasgow to seal a move to Bari in 2018. He was the first Scot to play in Serie A in over 30 years and since then, he has watched the likes of Aaron Hickey, Scott McTominay, Billy Gilmour, Lewis Ferguson, Doig and others follow in his footsteps. Since the midfielder's move to Bari, he has played for FOUR other Italian outfits - starring for Hellas Verona, Lecce, Palermo and most recently Empoli. He's now on the hunt for his next team after running down his contract at Empoli. And Tutto Mercato suggest he could make it FIVE Italian clubs in his career as Sassuolo are said to be looking at the Scottish blueprint once again. But he could also return to one of his former teams as his first Italian club Bari are also named as suitors. Edouard to return and Schmeichel's last year at Celtic Plus Munteanu LATEST Henderson has plenty of Serie A experience having made over 100 appearances in the top flight to date. Doig has so far followed a similar path to his fellow countryman in football as the left-back also enjoyed a stint at Hellas Verona before he moved to Sassuolo. Henderson spent two years with the club between 2018 and 2020 and helped them earn promotion to the Serie A via the Serie B play-offs in his first campaign at the club. Tierney: Brendan Rodgers' contract no distraction for Celtic
Tierney admits that the chance to work again with Rodgers was a major bonus in coming back to his boyhood club at this stage of his career, and he clearly would love the Celtic boss to hang around beyond the end of his current contract. But he is also adamant that speculation over Rodgers' future will have little impact on their collective drive for success this season. "I don't think he'll bother too much about the kind of outside noise or that,' Tierney said. Read more: 'He'll just get on with his job because he knows he's got a job to do, and as his players, we've got a job to do. And we need to do it to the best of our ability, and that takes hard work and commitment every single day, no days off and just being at it every day. 'I think with the captain that we've got, it's perfect having Callum (McGregor) and the manager as well together. It's a perfect combination. "It's amazing how much he actually works, and the effort he puts in. I think we've seen the benefits of it the other night [in the friendly win over Sporting]. (Image: SNS Group Craig Williamson) "I think we played really well, had some good passages of play against a top team. But it just shows you how passionate he is that you can still see him shouting and wanting more. 'And I think you need that if you are going to win trophies, you need to be one hundred percent, all the time. Pre-season friendly, whether it's a Champions League qualifier, Scottish Cup, league, you need to be on it every single day, even in training. You need to be on it and the manager makes sure that we are." Rodgers hardly had to give Tierney the big sell to persuade him to come back to Celtic Park, but the left-back revealed he had a laugh when pictures surfaced of the pair locked in conversation at a Celtic FC Foundation event in London last year, sending his fellow supporters into meltdown. "I knew these pictures would get out!' he said. 'It's massive [the manager being here]. I've always kept in contact with him. He always texts me in the good times and the bad times through my career, gives me a phone call. And him and John Kennedy are the two people in football that I've looked up to most and I'm closest to. 'I'm buzzing to be back with the gaffer. I loved my time under him before. We were successful together. He got the best out of me and he's a joy to work with, and I'm delighted to be back with him."

Kieran Tierney tackles Brendan Rodgers Celtic contract countdown as he spots clear sign boss' 'drive' is still there
The Parkhead star jumped at the chance to be reunited with his former gaffer and he has high hopes for the coming season Kieran Tierney insists Brendan Rodgers is as driven as ever and won't be distracted by contract countdown talk. The Celtic boss has entered the final year of his current Hoops deal and is remaining tight-lipped about his long-term plans. Tierney admitted he's thrilled to be hooking up with his old gaffer again – and he's seen no signs Rodgers is winding down to an exit. The Irishman was roaring on the touchline in Wednesday night's friendly win against Sporting Lisbon and charged up for Saturday's bounce game with Newcastle United at Celtic Park. Tierney is adamant there are no fears about the manager's motivation heading towards the new season. He said: "I don't think he'll bother too much about the kind of outside noise. 'He'll just get on with his job because he knows he's got a job to do, and as his players, we've got a job to do. "We need to do it to the best of our ability, and that takes hard work and commitment every single day, no days off and just being at it every day. 'I think with the captain that we've got, it's perfect having Callum and the manager as well together. It's a perfect combination. 'It's amazing how much the manager actually works, and what the effort he puts in. 'We saw the benefits of it the other night. 'I think we played really well the other night, some good passages of play against a top team. 'It just shows you how passionate he is that you can still see him shouting and wanting more. And I think you need that if you are going to win these trophies and that, you need to be 100 per cent all the time. 'Pre-season friendly, whether it's Champions League qualifier, Scottish Cup, League, you need to be on it every single day, even in training. You need to be on it and the manager makes sure that we are. 'He's got that, it's his drive.' Rodgers played a big role in bringing Tierney back to Celtic with fans fevered about the prospect of a second coming after the pair were snapped together at a dinner last year. The full back said: "I knew these pictures would come out! It's massive. I've always kept in contact with him. He always texts me in the good times and the bad times throughout my career, he gave me a phone call. 'I'm buzzing to be back with the gaffer. I loved my time under him before. We were successful together. He got the best out of me and it's a joy to work with and I'm delighted to be back with him.' Tierney is determined to put his injury problems behind him but he insists he has nothing to prove regarding his fitness. He said: 'No, nothing, I know how much I work professionally myself, on my body, on my recovery, being as ready as I can be for games. 'I'm not here to prove anything, I'm just here to do the best for Celtic and see where it goes. 'I know how much I focus on my body, my recovery, and doing everything I can to be in the best possible shape that I can be, so that's all I can think about. 'I can't sit and worry about what ifs or anything. I think what can I do just to be in the best condition that I can be in.' Meanwhile striker Shin Yamada is expected to rubber stamp a four-year deal over the weekend while Rodgers is still on the hunt for new faces. Royal Antwerp winger Michel-Ange Balikwisha remains high on the wishlist with the Belgians ready to lower their £5m demands while Celts are cool on talk in Romania over a move for Cluj hitman Louis Munteanu, with the 25-year-old being tracked by teams in France. Celts are set to step up their pre-season plans against Newcastle today and Tierney added: "I think always when there's a Scottish-English team playing each other, the atmosphere is going to be good, there's always going to be a bit of rivalry there. 'It's a confidence builder as well. But also it is important for the fitness side of things to get boys sharp and get boys ready, give everyone minutes and give people a chance to impress.'
