'Son of Sardaar 2' box office collection Day 5: Ajay Devgn and Mrunal Thakur starrer sees steady growth; matches 'Saiyaara' collections on Tuesday

'Son of Sardaar 2' continued its steady run at the Indian box office on Tuesday, Day 5, showing modest growth despite competition from multiple releases. According to early estimates by Sacnilk, the Ajay Devgn-starrer earned approximately Rs 2.50 crore on its fifth day, pushing the film's total domestic collection to around Rs 29.60 crore. The film recorded an overall Hindi occupancy of 22.08% on Tuesday, with night shows drawing the highest footfalls at around 38%, indicating sustained interest from audiences. 'Son of Sardaar 2' had a promising start at the box office, earning Rs 7.25 crore on its opening day. The momentum continued into the weekend, with the film collecting Rs 8.25 crore on Day 2 and Rs 9.25 crore on Day 3, taking its first weekend total to Rs 24.75 crore nett. However, the film witnessed a sharp decline on its first Monday, earning just Rs 2.35 crore. The film has managed to hold its ground even in the face of fresh competition from 'Dhadak 2', which earned Rs 1.60 crore on the same day. Interestingly, 'Son of Sardaar 2' matched its Day 5 earnings with the ongoing box office hit 'Saiyaara', which also brought in Rs 2.50 crore on Tuesday, Day 19. However, it was the animated film, 'Mahavatar Narsimha' that continued to dominate the box office, pulling in an estimated Rs 7.75 crore on Day 12, putting it in a league of its own. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like No annual fees for life UnionBank Credit Card Apply Now Undo Featuring an ensemble cast including Mrunal Thakur , Ravi Kishan, Sanjay Mishra , Neeru Bajwa, Deepak Dobriyal, Chunky Pandey , Kubbra Sait, Vindu Dara Singh , Mukul Dev, and Ashwini Kalsekar alongside Devgn, the film comes 13 years after the release of 'Son of Sardaar', which was one of the highest-grossing films of Devgn's career. The NYC outing follows their romantic Fourth of July weekend getaway to Mallorca, Spain, where the duo was spotted hugging on a yacht, according to Daily Mail. People reports that Aniston and Curtis have been dating for a few months, after meeting through mutual friends. The Friends star was reportedly familiar with Curtis' work before they met in person — she had read his self-help book and followed him on social media for nearly two years. An insider told the publication that Jim is 'different" from Aniston's past partners and that the two share a 'deep emotional intelligence." Curtis, a motivational speaker and published author, focuses on helping people 'break free from their past patterns" and live with purpose, according to Daily Mail. His own personal health journey including a serious nerve condition diagnosed in 1995 — led him to explore hypnotherapy and mindfulness, eventually shaping his career in wellness. Aniston has not publicly dated anyone since her 2018 breakup with actor Justin Theroux. She was previously married to Brad Pitt from 2000 to 2005 and to Theroux from 2015 until their separation. In 2022, Aniston opened up about her private struggles with IVF, saying she had 'zero regrets" despite not having children. Rahul Dholakia Recalls Shooting Raees With SRK While His Mom Was In ICU: 'It Was A Nightmare'

The Raees director also discussed the emotional toll he experienced during the shoot of the Shah Rukh Khan-starrer. Filmmaker Rahul Dholakia, best known for Raees, Parzania and Lamhaa, recently opened up about the physical and emotional toll that directing a film can take. In a candid conversation with The Times of India, Dholakia revealed he suffered major health setbacks — including diabetes, high blood pressure and even a heart attack — while working on different films. Reflecting on the intensity of the filmmaking process, Dholakia admitted that it often comes at the cost of one's mental and physical well-being. 'I've had diabetes after one film, blood pressure after another, and a heart attack after one more," he shared. The Raees director also discussed the emotional toll he experienced during the shoot of the Shah Rukh Khan-starrer. He revealed that during the first schedule of Raees, his mother was in the ICU, and he was dealing with chronic pain himself. Despite the personal turmoil, he couldn't afford to step away from the set. 'My mom was in the ICU, I was suffering from chronic pain… but I couldn't take off. SRK was on set, and I had to shoot," Dholakia recalled. 'I would stay with my mom at the hospital at night, then come to set and pretend everything was normal. It was a nightmare but you can't bring your problems on set." Dholakia also pointed out how discussing mental health is still considered taboo in the film industry. 'Our industry is such a performance-driven industry that people are afraid to say they're not well. There's always a fear of being dropped. No one wants to look weak," he said. He urged others in the industry to prioritise their mental health and seek help when needed. 'That's a big problem — it's always do or die. Your life is yours. Don't let anyone take it away from you. If you feel low, don't feel shy to take help — you have to look after yourself." First Published: August 06, 2025, 03:26 IST Disclaimer: Comments reflect users' views, not News18's.
