Ozzy Osbourne tributes as Rod Stewart and Elton John remember Black Sabbath frontman
Music legend Elton John described Ozzy Osbourne as a "dear friend" tonight - as the showbiz world came to terms with the frontman's shock death.
Black Sabbath singer Ozzy, who suffered from Parkinson's disease, died just weeks after a phenomenal farewell gig at his beloved Villa Park in Birmingham.
And Sir Rod Stewart also took to social media while defiantly accepting his own journey towards the exit door, saying he and Ozzy will be reunited for a gig in the sky.
Singer-songwriter Sir Elton, 78, posted on Instagram: "So sad to hear the news of Ozzy Osbourne passing away. He was a dear friend and a huge trailblazer who secured his place in the pantheon of rock gods - a true legend.
"He was also one of the funniest people I've ever met. I will miss him dearly. To Sharon and the family, I send my condolences and love. Elton xx."
Crooner Sir Rod, 80, who recently performed at Glastonbury, also posted on Instagram. He said: "Bye, bye Ozzy. Sleep well, my friend. I'll see you up there - later rather than sooner."
Former boxing world champion Frank Bruno MBE wrote: "RIP Ozzy Osbourne. We met several times years ago. He called me "Big man" when he asked me if I liked Rock music.
"I said "Soul & Reggae was my thing". He said "Give me a day big man and you will love Rock music". A character, a funny man and a legend who we will not see the likes of ever again."

Flavor Flav posted pics of him and Ozzy and the Public Enemy rapper, who has been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, told of his heartache at his compatriot's passing.
He wrote on X.com: "Real heart broken over the passing of Ozzy Osbourne. We go way back and it was a real honor to watch him get inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame last year."
Alongside a throwback pic and a more recent snap of them together, he added: "Sending my love and prayers to Sharon and his kids and whole family. RIP."
The black and white picture, which showed them both making the peace sign, had been posted on Ozzy's official Facebook page - which has 12 million followers - back in 2017.
American music, politics and popular culture publication Rolling Stone referred to Ozzy as "the singular metal legend whose Black Sabbath virtually invented heavy metal and in later years became a reality TV pioneer".
Former Aston Villa striker Stan Collymore Tweeted a picture of fans at Villa Park with an Ozzy display saying 'Up the Villa'. The post read: "Rest in peace, Ozzy."
Welsh YouTube prankster Ben Phillips said on Facebook: "It is heartbreaking to hear that the great Ozzy Osbourne has passed away at 76 years of age."
The social media star, who has more than 4.5million subscribers on the video platform, added: "Farewell Ozzy Osbourne: The Prince of Darkness Has Left Us – The End of an Era in Rock Music."
And Lisa Lange, Senior Vice President of animal charity PETA, said tonight: " Ozzy Osbourne was a legend and a provocateur, but PETA will remember the 'Prince of Darkness' most fondly for the gentle side he showed to animals.
"Most recently cats, by using his fame to decry painful, crippling declawing mutilations. Ozzy may have been the singer, but his wife, Sharon, and his daughter, Kelly, were of one voice when it meant protecting animals.
"Ozzy will be missed by animal advocates the world over." Ozzy famously bit the head off a live bat on stage during a gig - while performing at Des Moines, Iowa, in 1982 - believing it to be rubber after it had been thrown on stage.
Real name John Michael Osbourne, Ozzy released 22 studio albums between 1970 and 2022 - nine with Black Sabbath, and 13 solo albums, with the last in 2022.

Sharon Osbourne's furious X Factor outburst at 'pensioner' who slammed Ozzy
Sharon Osbourne once revealed she hilariously launched a pen at a pensioner who attempted to speak badly of her husband Ozzy while she was on The X Factor Sharon Osbourne once declared war on a "pensioner" who made the decision to have a go at her late husband, Ozzy. Sharon, 72, has never been one to mince her words and during an interview about her return to The X Factor, the music manager opened up about the interaction with the man who bravely attempted to say negative things about her husband Ozzy. In 2013, Sharon left the showbiz industry in shock when she returned to the talent show just six years after she dramatically left the programme. But in true Mrs O style, she didn't hold back when she spoke about one contestant. Speaking on Alan Carr's Chatty Man about the incident, the fiery redhead exclaimed: "I did too!" when asked if it was true she'd launched a pen at the contestant. "And it should have been a knife, really!" she went on to add. It comes after Sharon Osbourne breaks down in tears at Ozzy's funeral in heartbreaking scenes. When asked why she'd launched the pen, Sharon explained: "This old bloke comes in and starts slagging my old man, so I'm like 'Here, what can I throw at you?' so I'm like 'You can f**k off', threw a pen at him. You little f***er!" But when Alan asked why somebody would attempt to disrespect Ozzy in front of Sharon, she fumed: "They know what they're going to get. How dare he! The funeral followed an emotionally-charged day in Birmingham, that saw the Prince of Darkness made one final trip through his home city. Thousands of fans lined the streets to pay their respects and say goodbye as a procession led by Ozzy's hearse travelled from the Aston Villa football ground through the city centre. In moving scenes, the procession stopped outside the Black Sabbath bridge, where the frontman's wife and children stepped out of their cars to lay down roses wrapped in black paper among the sea of tributes left by fans. Ozzy's widow, Sharon, was seen for the first time since his death and was overcome by emotion as she took in the outpouring of love for her husband. As she broke down in tears, Sharon was comforted by children Jack, Kelly, and Aimee. The grandchildren of Sharon and Ozzy were also close by for the family moment. Last week, the Osbourne family announced that Ozzy had died at the age of 76, just days after he appeared on stage at his farewell Back to the Beginning concert, in his beloved hometown of Birmingham. In a statement, the Osbourne family, including Kelly and Sharon, had said: "It is with more sadness than mere words can convey that we have to report that our beloved Ozzy Osbourne has passed away this morning. "He was with his family and surrounded by love. We ask everyone to respect our family privacy at this time. Sharon, Jack, Kelly, Aimee and Louis."

'Worst show on TV' is ending and its biggest critics are full of regret
And Just Like That… Sex and The City fans will no longer be tormented by its divisive revival. Creator Michael Patrick King has confirmed that And Just Like That, which has regularly been branded 'the worst show on TV',is coming to an end after its third and current season. In a statement shared on Instagram, King wrote: 'And just like that… the ongoing storytelling of the Sex and the City universe is coming to an end. 'While I was writing the last episode of And Just Like That… season 3, it became clear to me that this might be a wonderful place to stop. 'Along with Sarah Jessica Parker, Casey Bloys and Sarah Aubrey, we decided to end the popular series this year with a two-part finale and extended the original series order from 10 episodes to 12. 'SJP and I held off announcing the news until now because we didn't want the word 'final' to overshadow the fun of watching the season. 'It's with great gratitude we thank all the viewers who have let these characters into their homes and their hearts over these many years.' Despite the relentless backlash and calls for it to be over, viewers who have spent three seasons 'hate-watching' are still absolutely crushed. And Just Like That hater Tom Zohar wrote on X: 'PLEASE I DIDN'T MEAN ALL THE THINGS I SAID ABOUT YOU I LOVE YOU PLEASE DON'T LEAVE.' Another fan who loved to hate-watch, Felipe, tweeted: 'conflicted because the show is objectively terrible but i'd still watch 10 seasons of it.' Their influence has hardly faltered almost 30 years later. In 2021 the girls were back – well, without Samantha due to Cattrall's fall out with the rest of the cast – in And Just Like That, the reboot so many longed for but never thought would happen. The excitement was unrivalled but soon fizzled out when Carrie, Miranda and Charlotte were criticised for being unrecognisable to the women fans adored and watching Che Diaz (Sara Ramirez) felt like a punishment when we'd all been so patient. The latest series was praised for getting back on track but it also came with bizarre misfires. In one episode, Lisa Todd Wexley's (Nicole Ari Parker) dad died from a stroke. Fans noted that she claimed he'd already died back in season one. Producers did explain the issue, insisting the father mentioned in season one was her stepfather but fans weren't satisfied with the response. Parker shared a series of iconic Carrie moments and said the columnist with the wardrobe worth millions 'dominated my professional heartbeat for 27 years. I think I have loved her most of all.' Davis, who starred as Charlotte for 27 years, wrote: 'I am profoundly sad. I love our whole beautiful cast and crew. 400 artisans working so hard on our show with deep love.
