Bukit Aman Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department director Datuk Seri Mohd Yusri said most crashes were due to reckless or inattentive driving, particularly mobile phone use behind the wheel. He told Utusan Malaysia that common causes also include loss of control, failing to observe junctions, and ignoring nearby vehicles or animals. Malaysia to blacklist love scammers from entering country
KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia will blacklist love scammers, says Home Minister Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail. He said this is in response to cases of scammers entering the country to defraud Malaysians. "If investigations uncover elements of fraud, for example, entering on social passes, ending in marriage and then engaging in criminal activities, which we can establish through legal and regulatory evidence, will we issue blacklists? Absolutely. "If there are specific cases, they can be escalated to us for further action," he said during his winding-up speech on the 13th Malaysia Plan in the Dewan Rakyat. He was responding to Siti Mastura Muhammad (PN-Kepala Batas), who asked whether Malaysia would blacklist individuals reported to be involved in love scams. She noted that some complaints involved love scams that even led to marriage and upon investigation, these were not first or second marriages but sometimes, third or fourth. She added that most of the scammers involved were from Thailand, Indonesia and other countries. Saifuddin said as of July, 527 cases of love scam have been reported with losses totaling RM22.9 million. "Victims are lured with the pretext that someone is interested in forming a relationship, and unknowingly, they are asked to transfer money. "Victims are intelligent and educated. They are not lacking in knowledge or access to communication technology. "I urge everyone to remember that the simplest precaution is that if communication on social media ends with a request to share account numbers or transfer money, stop immediately," he said.

RPO warns of fake TikTok account mimicking Queen's voice
KUALA LUMPUR: The Royal Press Office (RPO) has detected a fake TikTok account using artificial intelligence (AI) technology to mimic the voice of Her Majesty Raja Zarith Sofiah, Queen of Malaysia. According to a post on the official Facebook page of Sultan Ibrahim Sultan Iskandar, the RPO said the video featured a voice resembling Raja Zarith Sofiah, allegedly promising financial assistance. 'The public is advised to remain cautious and not be easily influenced by such fake accounts, which are often used by scammers for fraudulent purposes on social media platforms. 'RPO wishes to stress that impersonation and misuse of identity are offences under the law,' the post read. A 33-second video has gone viral on TikTok, using the Queen's image and mimicking Her Majesty's voice, purportedly to convey aid to Malaysians in need of financial assistance.
