Axed TV host Jay Blades was weeks away from starring on new reality series before domestic violence arrest
The Repair Shop presenter, 55, was preparing to star in ITV's Shark! Celebrity Infested Waters, which starts tonight.

But the show was thrown into chaos after allegations of controlling and coercive behaviour against his wife Lisa Zbozen, which he denies.
A TV insider told The Sun: 'Attracting a popular BBC star to be in the new ITV series was a big win for bosses.
'But as soon as Jay Blades was arrested in March 2024, they knew they had to make a quick decision about the future of the show.
'He was given the boot.
'Producers got lucky as they hadn't started filming or doing any promotion yet so were able to replace him with someone else.
'There were travel plans in place for the cast taking part in the show so it caused a lot of upset and disruption behind the scenes.'
Blades is accused of causing Lisa, 43, to fear violence would be used against her on at least two occasions.
The trial begins on August 26.

John Torode's contract on MasterChef not renewed, BBC and Banijay UK confirm
Australian-born Torode, 59, started presenting MasterChef alongside Gregg Wallace in 2005. On Monday night, Torode confirmed he was the subject of an allegation of using racist language that was upheld as part of a review carried out by law firm Lewis Silkin into the alleged behaviour of his co-presenter Wallace. John Torode after being made an MBE during an investiture ceremony at Buckingham Palace (Kirsty O'Connor/PA) A statement from Banijay UK said: 'In response to John Torode's statement, it is important to stress that Banijay UK takes this matter incredibly seriously. 'The legal team at Lewis Silkin that investigated the allegations relating to Gregg Wallace also substantiated an accusation of highly offensive racist language against John Torode which occurred in 2018. 'This matter has been formally discussed with John Torode by Banijay UK, and whilst we note that John says he does not recall the incident, Lewis Silkin have upheld the very serious complaint. 'Banijay UK and the BBC are agreed that we will not renew his contract on MasterChef.' The Lewis Silkin report, commissioned by Banijay UK, found 45 out of 83 allegations against Wallace were substantiated, alongside two standalone allegations made against other people, including one for using racist language. Torode confirmed on Monday night he was the person alleged to have used racist language but said he had 'no recollection of the incident' and was 'shocked and saddened' by the allegation. A BBC spokesperson said: 'John Torode has identified himself as having an upheld allegation of using racist language against him. 'This allegation – which involves an extremely offensive racist term being used in the workplace- was investigated and substantiated by the independent investigation led by the law firm, Lewis Silkin. John Torode denies the allegation. 'He has stated he has no recollection of the alleged incident and does not believe that it happened. He also says that any racial language is wholly unacceptable in any environment. 'The BBC takes this upheld finding extremely seriously. We will not tolerate racist language of any kind and, as we have already said, we told Banijay UK, the makers of MasterChef, that action must be taken. 'John Torode's contract on MasterChef will not be renewed.' In 2022, Torode was made an MBE in the Queen's Birthday Honours, for services to food and charity.

Watch the moment shocked star is BITTEN on Shark! Celebrity Infested Waters
THIS is the moment a shocked star was bitten by a shark in the first episode of ITV's brand new series. Shark! Celebrity Infested Waters sees seven famous faces embark on a dive expedition to The Bahamas. 5 Seven celebrities are taking part in the new show 5 Lenny Henry spots a shark swimming close by behind him Credit: ITV 5 The sharks were right by their feet Credit: ITV 5 This is the moment Ross was bitten While the turquoise waters look inviting, they are actually known for being home to the shark capital of the world. Taking on the challenge is Sir Lenny Henry, Call the Midwife's Helen George, McFly's Dougie Poynter, comedian Ross Noble, Countdown's Rachel Riley, presenter Ade Adepitan and Motherhood star Lucy Punch. They are lead on their expedition by shark experts including Dr. Tristan Guttridge, and at one point, he takes the celebrities to an area in the Bahamas known for its Lemon Sharks. Dr. Tristan tells the celebrities that as they stand in the waist height water, they need to remain still, and even if the sharks nudge into them, the key is not to panic. The stars enter the water in small groups so as not to cause too much alarm to the sharks. Comedian Ross, 49, describes the creatures as "peaceful" and while he agrees, Dr. Tristan then adds: "Of all the sharks I've ever worked with, it's the only one I've ever been bitten by." Moments later, a larger shark picks up the scent of the bait box in the bait box near the celebrities, and breaches the water with a fish in its mouth, causing them to be on high alert. Indeed, the Lemon sharks then start to get a bit more "excited" and with the sea bed being churned up by their faster movements, a shark suddenly butts into Ross's ankle and bites him. The funnyman staggers a bit in the water prompting the others to ask: "What happened?" In a very calm voice, Ross replies: "A shark just bit me." Shark! Celebrity Infested Waters In a voiceover, it's explained that the shark had "an exploratory bite" after Ross didn't move when it bumped into his leg. Dr. Tristan then decides that because the sharks are getting "a bit jumpy" they should slowly move back to the boat. Thankfully, the bite is more of a nibble and Ross jokes that he is "lucky to be alive". But with high drama already in the first episode, what else will the celebrities face when they head below the waves later in the series? Shark! Celebrity Infested Waters starts tonight, Monday July 14 at 9pm on ITV1.

Olivia Attwood hits back at backlash over surprise This Morning role after cruel trolls said they'll ‘stop watching'
OLIVIA Attwood has hit back at trolls who reacted cruelly to her inclusion in This Morning's line-up of summer presenters. The Love Island favourite, who has built a successful career fronting documentaries and as a Loose Women panellist, is one of a number of stars filling in for regular hosts Cat Deeley and Ben Shephard over the summer break. Though she's not the first reality star to host the show, with fellow summer star and X Factor icon Rylan Clark having already proven a dab hand on the set, Olivia's villa background hasn't gone down well with some traditionalists who have gone so far as to say they'll "definitely stop watching'. But Olivia, 34, is confident in her abilities and feels she's earned her stripes to become ITV's new golden girl. She exclusively told The Sun: "Those who know me understand the hard work I've put in to get where I am today. "I'm forever grateful to Love Island for being the springboard to my career, but I'm excited to show there's so much more to me beyond the villa." She continued: "It's been a lot of hard work, but I've always stayed focused on my goals and believed in myself and I'm very thankful for ITV in believing me." As someone who grew up watching the show as a child, she knows what it's about and the position it has in the national consciousness. She said: "When I got the gig, I was over the moon! I grew up watching the show, and to be a part of it feels like such a huge achievement!" Olivia will turn to an old motto when it is her time in front of the camera, telling us her ultimate piece of advice is: "Stay true to who you are, no matter how much your world changes." Other stars fronting the show this summer include Sian Welby, Dermot O'Leary, Emma Willis, Josie Gibson, Rochelle Humes, Joel Dommett, Craig Doyle, and Andi Peters. We recently revealed how This Morning bosses will ensure Olivia and her ex-boyfriend Chris Hughes, who is a roving reporter on the show, won't have to interact. Chris is said to be unhappy with a number of comments Olivia made about him and his now girlfriend JoJo Siwa while they were in the Celebrity Big Brother house. However, a friend of Olivia's told us, she hasn't even thought about it. They said: 'To be honest, it hadn't even crossed her mind when she took the This Morning gig. 'Of course, she wouldn't relish having to interact with Chris on camera, but she's a professional at the end of the day. 'She's focused on making the most of the summer hosting slot and doing her job well - who else is on the rota doesn't concern her. When you work in telly, not everyone you work with is going to be your best mate.' When her first This Morning gig does roll around, Olivia will be fuelled up with Costa Coffee Latte, which she calls her "the "perfect pick-me-up for those busy days". 5 5 Ahead of then, she's teamed up with Roman Kemp to launch the Costa Hypeline - WhatsApp line to get the nation motivated. Fans can WhatsApp +44 7763 218 600 before this Thursday, letting Roman or Olivia know what they need hyping for and they could get a voice note back, tailored to their moment of need. Olivia said: 'Motivation is an important thing as most of us hit a wall way before lunchtime. A little hype can go a long way. "I'm buzzing to be on the other end of the line with Costa, handing out some words of encouragement. "We'll be managing the Costa Hypeline for one day only on the 17 th July to help give out those much-needed boosts of productivity – message in for a hype!'
