'Mumma Is Bad Girl': 4-Yr-Old Calls Child Helpline To 'Report' Mother Over Rakhi Outfit Drama
A father shared a humorous Raksha Bandhan story on Reddit about his four-year-old daughter dialing the child helpline to report her mother for shouting. The post went viral.
A father's humorous Raksha Bandhan morning story has left the internet in splits after he shared that his four-year-old daughter literally dialed child helpline number to 'report" her mother after she shouted at her.
The Redditor, a software engineer, shared the story involving his identical twin daughters — one described as calm and sweet while the other 'hell notorious."
On the morning of Raksha Bandhan, as the family rushed to get ready, his wife was handling the more mischievous twin, who had already started throwing a tantrum over her outfit.
Frustrated and running late, the mother raised her voice, which led the little girl to burst into tears and run to her father. As he helped dress her, she grabbed his phone, held it up to her mother, and warned, 'Shout again and I'll call 1098 (child helpline number)."
'My kid called the child helpline on my wife," the caption of the post reads.
According to the Reddit post, the couple had taught their daughters about the child helpline number for emergencies. Though the girl didn't fully understand its purpose, she knew it was important — and she was ready to use it.
'Papa, please gimme phone, please. I gave her my phone. And then she started showing it to her mom and giving her warnings," the post reads.
A few minutes later, she quietly went to another room and actually called the number.
'She started showing the phone to her mom and giving warnings," the father wrote. A few minutes later, the girl quietly slipped into another room and actually dialed the number.
When the helpline counsellor picked up, the little one began with, 'Mumma is a bad girl, she shouted at me." When asked the reason for shouting, she explained, 'Because I didn't like the clothes she bought for me, so I didn't want to wear them."
The kid added, 'I am in HER home, and Papa dressed me in my favourite clothes which my mum didn't want."
Eventually, she hung up and returned to her parents to announce, 'I have called the police and they are coming home."
Reddit users couldn't get enough and the post went viral.
One of the users, @Direct_Host__, commented, '4 year olds are becoming smart these days, I would have been convinced with a toffee back then."
'Can I call retroactively against my parents? I am in my middle age now," joked another user @shiviam.
The story is a heartwarming reminder of how children often interpret the world in their own clever and unexpected ways.

Ahmedabad plane crash: US attorney, kin of victims join candlelight vigil
Ahmedabad, Aug 12 (PTI) Family members of Air India plane crash victims on Tuesday participated in a candlelight vigil at the site of the tragedy in Meghaninagar area of Ahmedabad to mark two months since the deadly aviation disaster. United States-based aviation attorney Mike Andrews, who is in Gujarat to meet the kin of the deceased, also participated, said his media coordinator, Kuldip Israni. 'Andrews and 20 to 25 family members of the air crash victims, including passengers and those killed on the ground, participated in the candlelight vigil in memory of the victims," said Israni. Andrews, on August 8, announced that at least 65 families from India and the United Kingdom, who lost their kin in the horrific tragedy on June 12, have hired US-based law firm Beasley Allen, with which he is associated as an aviation attorney. Andrews had told reporters in Vadodara that the families have an option of filing a product liability claim in a US court, depending on the findings of the ongoing investigation. On June 12, Air India's Boeing 787-8 aircraft en route to London Gatwick crashed into a medical hostel complex shortly after taking off from Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport and burst into flames, killing 241 out of 242 people onboard and 19 individuals on the ground, including four medical students. During the last week, Andrews met family members of several victims in Vadodara, Ahmedabad, Surat and neighbouring Diu. 'Mutual Verbal Consent Sufficient': Gujarat HC's Nod To Islamic Law On Dissolution Of Muslim Marriage
The Gujarat High Court ruled that Muslim marriages can be verbally dissolved if both parties consent, and there is no need for a written document under 'mubaraat' In a nod to Islamic law, the Gujarat High Court recently observed that a Muslim marriage can be dissolved through mutual verbal consent, or mubaraat. Mubaraat, or mutual consent divorce, is based on mutual verbal consent and does not need a written agreement as both spouses agree to separate. This is permissible under Islamic personal law and the ruling aligns with the principles of the Quran and Hadith cited by the court. In doing so, the court set aside a family court order that rejected the divorce plea based on the absence of a written agreement for mutual consent. A bench of Justices AY Kogje and NS Sanjay Gowda made the observation while overturning the family court order, which stated that a written agreement was necessary in mubaraat. 'The court does not find that recording of an agreement between the parties to the nikah in any written format is essential for recording the fact of dissolution of marriage. For the purpose of mubaraat, the expression of a mutual consent to dissolution of nikah is sufficient to dissolve the nikah in itself," the bench said, as per Bar and Bench. mubaraat nikah or a Muslim marriage does not mean that it is an essential requirement under Muslim personal law. ' Nikahnama only recognises the agreement entered into by the parties to the marriage by uttering the words qabool in presence of the witness that does not make a nikahnama or registration of a nikah part of an essential process of nikah. Similarly, there is no process by which the written agreement is an essential requirement for mubaraat," the court was quoted in its ruling. The HC was hearing a joint appeal filed by an estranged couple, whose divorce plea was dismissed by the family court in April. The two parties married in 2021, but had been living separately for more than a year due to irreconcilable differences. They mutually agreed to dissolve the marriage and opted for mubaraat. view comments First Published: Disclaimer: Comments reflect users' views, not News18's.
