This Morning chaos as Britain's Got Talent star drops trousers on live TV

Daily Mirror12-05-2025

Diversity's Jordan Banjo left hosts Cat Deeley and Ben Shephard in fits of giggles on This Morning when he unexpected dropped his trousers on live TV. The star appeared alongside his brother Ashley and co-star Perri Kiely to chat about their new podcast - and revealed that he had already tattooed its name onto his leg.
"My options were to hold a Boa constrictor for 30 seconds or get a tattoo of the podcast logo without knowing whether it would be successful or not," Jordan said about one episode of the podcast. "It's on my leg. I will show you it if you want?"
At which point, Cat chanted: "Get it out, get it out!" As Jordan apologised for needing to take his trousers down to show it, Cat cheekily said: "We didn't choose the snake did we?"

Wynne Evans slams BBC in explosive live TV interview with Ben Shephard and Cat Deeley

Wynne Evans slams BBC in explosive live TV interview with Ben Shephard and Cat Deeley Wynne Evans did not hold back on his criticism of the BBC during his interview Wynne gave "his side" of the story on This Morning (Image: ITV ) Wynne Evans has appeared on This Morning, to explain "his side" of the story behind the Strictly Come Dancing scandals. During the interview with This Morning Wynne did not hold back on his criticism of the BBC. Since the scandals which included Wynne making an inappropriate comment towards host Janette Manrara, Wynne putting his hand on his professional dance partner Katya Jones's waist and her removing it on Strictly Come Dancing and sending fellow Strictly celebrity EastEnders actor Jamie Borthwick a sex toy, while on tour, Wynne has not had his BBC radio show contract renewed. ‌ After the comment incident, which took place during the launch of the Strictly Come Dancing live tour, the BBC issued an apology on Wynne's behalf. ‌ Wynne says he did not give permission for this to happen. He said: "I said 'oh God, I'm sorry', they took that as an apology, they didn't run it by me, they sent it off to the newspaper, they printed that as my apology and that's the situation I was in. "Then, of course, it looks like I have validated the story." For the latest TV and showbiz gossip sign up to our newsletter . Article continues below Wynne also claims he was forced to cut his apology video for the hand incident short. He said: "We did this apology video and it was 50 seconds long. I remember saying to the people at Strictly oh look, we've done this video... they said you can't put that out, that's too long, just make it 10 seconds. "It turns into some kind of hostage-style video where I am in the background going 'sorry'..." ‌ Finally, Wynne claims he has been offered no support from the BBC with his mental health following his exit. He said: "I haven't heard from them since I got suspended, to me, I haven't heard from them, they've only spoken to my lawyers." After This Morning host Ben Shephard read out a reply from the BBC, saying they had offered Wynne support, Wynne said he wasn't aware of the support. Article continues below Wynne said if he could do anything differently he would not do Strictly Come Dancing as it was not a "safe environment" for him. He also became emotional and said he was suicidal following the press coverage of the incidents. You can read more, here.

Wynne Evans teary as he says 'I wanted to end my life' over Strictly scandal

More info Opera singer Wynne Evans struggled to hold back tears as he opened up about the Strictly Come Dancing scandal that left him feeling suicidal during an emotional interview on This Morning. The 53-year-old Welsh singer has faced a turbulent few months after being dropped by the BBC following an apology saying that he used "inappropriate language" during the launch of the Strictly Come Dancing tour. On Wednesday, Wynne emotionally revealed that the "relentless" scandal had pushed him to his lowest point. Wynne said: "I've had clinical depression since 2016, I was diagnosed. I want to talk about it today because I want other people to find strength from that. It took me to the darkest point in my life." (Image: ITV) Choking back tears, he recalled the devastating moment he told his girlfriend, to whom he recently got engaged to: "I remember saying to my girlfriend: 'I have to kill myself, I have to...'" Wynne's voice cracked as he fought to compose himself. He credited his loved ones for their unwavering support during his darkest hour, saying: "I was on the crisis team for a month, and they just looked after me the whole time", reports Wales Online. "My friends, family, and girlfriend had a rota so they could be with me 24 hours a day, sitting up with me because it was just so relentless." Wynne also shared a heart-wrenching conversation with his daughter: "I said to my daughter: 'I'm sorry I brought shame on the family' because even though I didn't do what they said I did, I still brought all these headlines. "She just said: 'Look, dad, I know you, you're just this kind person, and I just want you to know that I can see the video, I've seen it for myself, I know exactly what you said.' They've been utterly brilliant and my girlfriend's been fantastic as well." (Image: BBC) This Morning host, Ben Shephard, also read a statement from the BBC which said: "We provided comprehensive duty of care for Wynne that included support by wellbeing professionals. "He was also provided with direct access to a designated contact at the BBC who was available to assist him at anytime. Plus he has been offered continued support since his contract with the BBC concluded." The interview comes as the Welsh opera singer, known for the insurance advertisements, announced last month that he will no longer be a BBC Radio Wales presenter. Wynne revealed in January that he would be taking some time out from both his radio show and the Strictly tour to prioritise his wellbeing. A spokesperson for the BBC recently said: "Wynne Evans is not under contract with the BBC. He is not returning to the mid-morning show on BBC Radio Wales, and there are currently no plans to work with him." (Image: ITV) Reflecting on his journey in an emotive post on Instagram last month, he penned: "My beloved Wynners, From the very depths of my heart – thank you. "These past few months, your love has been the light in my darkest days. Every message, every word of encouragement, every moment you stood by me has carried me through more than you could ever know." He added: "It breaks my heart to say the BBC has decided not to renew my contract, so I won't be returning to my radio show. I'm gutted. "That show wasn't just work – it was home. It was us. We laughed, we cried, we sang like nobody was listening. And somehow, through the airwaves, we became a family." Wynne thanked his fans and said he would have an online programme called The Wynne Evans Show, which he called "terrifying". "This is our next adventure. And I need you more than ever," he added. (Image: Instagram) "We will have great music, my question of the day, the mystery voice, your soundtrack stories and so much more, because we have each other again. We have a new home. I'm bringing more presenters soon, and I am sure you'll recognise a few of the faces." He admitted that he was "full of nerves. Full of hope. Full of love. Because when we show up for each other — like we always have — anything is possible." Earlier this year, he apologised for language that he called "inappropriate and unacceptable" after The Mail on Sunday reported that Wynne was heard making a remark in a video filmed during the Strictly launch event. It is understood he was given a warning over the remark by tour producers. In January, he announced: "I've agreed with the BBC that I'll take some time out from my radio show and the Strictly Live tour, as well as my other public commitments, to prioritise my wellbeing. "I am deeply sorry for the pain my inappropriate actions have caused, and plan to take this time for self-reflection. "Apologies to those I won't get to see at the remaining performances, and I'm grateful to my fellow tour gang for all the amazing support they have given me." *If you have been affected by this story, you can call the Samaritans for free on 116 123 or visit

In his first public TV appearance since the scandal the opera singer, 53, claimed he had not been contacted by the BBC after being axed from his Radio Wales show. 'I haven't heard from the BBC,' Wynne told hosts Cat Deeley and Ben Shephard. 'Sometimes I think it's lip service that they do. 'Mental health is a really grey area — they can say we've got that policy in place, but actually you have to look after the people. 'Because in the flip of a light switch, the light can go out.' Evans described how the pressure and media scrutiny following Strictly became so intense that he was placed under a crisis team and considered taking his own life. 'At one point I remember saying to my girlfriend, I have to take my own life,' he admitted. 'I was under the crisis team for a month where they just looked after you the whole time. 'My friends, family and girlfriend did a rota where they looked after me because it was relentless. 'I said sorry to my daughter because I brought shame on the family — because even though I didn't do what they said I did, there were all these headlines. Wynne Evans confirms he's been AXED by the BBC after probe as he shares emotional statement 'She said, 'Dad, I know you. You are a kind person. I've seen the video you did nothing wrong'.' The tenor and former Go Compare frontman addressed several incidents that generated headlines during his time on the Strictly live tour. He spoke about the now-infamous 'sex toy' incident involving fellow contestant Jamie Borthwick. 'We're on tour, spending 24 hours a day with people, you get to know people really well,' he said. 'It was a joke that went too far. He [Jamie] was talking about this thing backstage — I ordered it off Amazon, and as soon as he opened it, the joke was over. 'It went straight in the bin. I didn't know he sent a video to a friend. And yeah, it was a joke that went too far. I apologise for that.' Another moment under scrutiny was when Evans was accused of inappropriately touching professional dancer Katya Jones during rehearsals. Wynne said Katya planned the moment, and she dragged him to closer to the cameras as they stood in the gallery with Claudia Winkleman, 'I totally understand that and I apologise,' he said. 'I don't want to sit here today coming across as a victim because I'm not — I'm naive. 'Katya says to me, 'Have you seen what people are saying on Twitter, Instagram?' 'I'm sat in make-up and I'm like, 'Oh my word.' I showed it to her and I say, 'We need to make an apology video.' 'So we did — it was 50 seconds long.' He said the BBC made him cut it short which he insisted was the wrong decision. He said: 'I showed it to Strictly, they said no, it needs to be 10 seconds. 'So then it looks like this weird hostage video.' Evans also explained his side of a viral controversy involving a misheard comment during a photo call, where it was alleged he directed an offensive term toward professional dancer Janette Manrara. 'The reports had left, we were there having stills taken. I was there talking to JB [Jamie Borthwick] — I had this nickname for him, which was 'old boy', because he could contort his… 'There was a reporter recording from a distance away, they took out the words 'old' and 'boy', which you can absolutely see in the video, it's crystal clear. 'Even though I'm looking at Jamie, they claimed I'm directing this word at Janette. 'Taken out of context, the narrative was so wrong on it. 'I was mortified, absolutely mortified. I spoke to Janette afterwards — she didn't hear it. 'There's never been any complaints about me ever.' Evans revealed the moment the press tour rang him to question the alleged remark. 'I'd just lost my brother, I'd broken my foot, I was lying in a hotel room, papers calling me. The Strictly press tour rang me saying I'm meant to have said this word. I said, 'Oh God, I'm sorry.' 'They took that as an apology and sent it to the papers — that looked like I'd validated the story.' Presenter Ben Shephard described the situation as a 'catalogue of moments' that led viewers to question Evans' character. Wynne replied: 'I totally understand that. It was interesting, actually — I saw you when the kilt was lifted on Lorraine — that's a very similar situation. 'I did a stupid thing, but the narrative was changed. When I'm reading a headline that says 'sex pest'…' Evans, who proposed to his girlfriend in Morocco, said he regrets signing up to Strictly. He said: 'I wouldn't do it. It wasn't a safe environment for me. 'I loved Katya and the guys that were there. I'm happy now to be back in Wales.' He also revealed that he's launching his own new radio show: The Wynne Evans Show, airing weekdays from 9am to 12pm on his website. 'I'm going to start my own show on Monday,' he said, adding: 'I'm happy to be moving on.'
