Report: Jaguars hire Rams analytics director Jake Temme
Jacksonville Jaguars general manager and former Los Angeles Rams director of college scouting James Gladstone is bringing a former coworker with him to his new job.
The Jaguars reportedly hired Jake Temme as the team's newest senior vice president of football analytics, according to ESPN's Seth Walder. Temme had previously been the Rams for the 10 seasons, most recently as the team's director of data and analytics.
Temme played a big role in the Rams' recent run of great draft picks, including receiver Puka Nacua, according to a feature from The Athletic's Jordan Rodrigue. Temme helped build and run programs that determined which players to target and — ultimately — what picks to make. He was also one of the few members of the front office who sat with the key decision-makers like head coach Sean McVay, general manager Les Snead, Gladstone and scouting strategist Nicole Blake during drafts.
It's always hard to gauge how much a front office loss will effect a team with the 2025 draft so close. But one would have to imagine that McVay, Snead and the rest of the Rams organization have learned enough from the successes brought on by Gladstone and Temme that they can make effective decisions without them in the war room this time around.

See which Rams players cracked CBS Sports' top-100 player list
The 2025 NFL season is quickly approaching (in a few months), which means everyone is beginning to take a hard look at the state of the league, the teams and which players will have the biggest impact on the year. CBS Sports' Pete Prisco ranked his top 100 players heading into the 2025. Three Rams made the list, but all three finished outside the top-50: Edge rusher Jared Verse (No. 54), wide receiver Puka Nacua (No. 63) and wide receiver Davante Adams (No. 91). Advertisement Verse, as a rookie in 2024, wasn't ranked. Nacua moved up three spots, though, while Adams dropped 65 spots from being Prisco's No. 26 player a year ago. Oddly enough, neither quarterback Matthew Stafford nor running back Kyren Williams made the list despite their statistical accomplishments in 2024 and predicted ability heading into the season. Prisco ranked 11 other quarterbacks and eight other running backs, which should give you and indication of where Stafford and Williams could rank in his eyes. Here's what Prisco had to say about all three Rams players on his list. No. 54 Jared Verse "Verse had 4.5 sacks as a rookie, but the pressure numbers show how dominant he can be as an edger player. He did rack up a lot of them on his way to winning Defensive Rookie of the Year honors. He's also good in the run game. This could be his breakout sack season." No. 63 Puka Nacua "He was limited to 12 games because of injury, yet Nacua still managed to catch 79 passes with three touchdowns. That number was down from the 105 he had as a rookie, but he did average more catches per game." No. 91 Davante Adams "Adams turns 33 in December, so age is starting to become a factor. He was never a burner, so that's a concern. But the Rams offense would seem to be perfect for how he plays. Playing for the Raiders and Jets, he still had 85 catches and eight touchdown receptions." Recently retired Pro Bowl LT is so glad he never has to block Jared Verse again
Recently retired Pro Bowl LT is so glad he never has to block Jared Verse again Terron Armstead guarantees Verse will win Defensive Player of the Year someday: 'Mark my words' Recently retired @T_Armstead72 listed the current pass rushers in the game that made his decision to retire a lot easier 📻 | @RobertJTurbin — SiriusXM NFL Radio (@SiriusXMNFL) June 17, 2025 Jared Verse is the type of pass rusher who gives opposing linemen nightmares. Just ask Terron Armstead, a five-time Pro Bowl left tackle who recently retired from the NFL after 12 seasons. Armstead only faced Verse once in his career, a Week 10 bout between the Rams and Dolphins last season, but he's glad he never has to block the Defensive Rookie of the Year again. It's one of the highest compliments an offensive lineman can pay a defender, and it's clear Verse left a lasting impression on Armstead in their one battle. In a recent interview on The SiriusXM Blitz, Armstead mentioned Verse first when asked which pass rusher made his decision to retire easier. 'No. 1, he was a rookie from the Rams. That young boy Jared Verse? I'm cool. I'm good. I never got to see that man again. I'm OK with never seeing that young man again in my life,' Armstead said. Verse is only 24 but he's already one of the most powerful edge rushers in the game. Armstead got a firsthand look at Verse's bull rush last season and he says it's unlike others he faced in his career. Even after going up against Verse just once, Armstead guarantees Jared will win Defensive Player of the Year someday. 'Bull rush is different. Dog, it's different,' Armstead said. 'You know that it's coming, you brace yourself. He's different. Jared Verse is different. He will be a Defensive Player of the Year one of these days. Mark my words.' In the Rams' loss to the Dolphins last season, Verse had five pressures, a strip-sack and recovery, as well as three total stops, according to Pro Football Focus. His 89.7 overall grade was his highest in any game, so he sure did show out against Armstead and Miami's linemen. The strip-sack didn't come against Armstead but it was an impressive play, no less. The rookie Jared Verse gets the strip sack AND recovery for the @RamsNFL! 📺: #MIAvsLAR on ESPN/ABC 📱: Stream on #NFLPlus and ESPN+ — NFL (@NFL) November 12, 2024 In addition to Verse, the other pass rushers Armstead is glad he never has to see again are Myles Garrett, Trey Hendrickson and Maxx Crosby. That puts into perspective the class Verse is in as a defender already, ranking among the best edge rushers in football after just one season. It shouldn't be long before Verse turns his Defensive Rookie of the Year award into Defensive Player of the Year honors.
