BTS' Jungkook apologises for wearing controversial hat during j-hope's concert rehearsal
According to Soompi, Jungkook attended the first night of j-hope's Hope On The Stage Final concert at Goyang Sports Complex. During the rehearsal, he was seen wearing a hat with the phrase 'Make Tokyo Great Again.'
The slogan, which resembles the phrase 'Make America Great Again' associated with US President Donald Trump, sparked controversy due to historical tensions between Korea and Japan, including Japan's colonial rule over Korea.
In the early hours of June 14, Jungkook posted an apology on Weverse.
He said: 'My heart feels heavy writing this kind of message after meeting you for the first time in a long while. I sincerely apologise for the disappointment and discomfort I caused many people through the phrase that was written on the hat I wore during today's rehearsal.
'There is no excuse, regardless of my reasons. I was lacking, and I was careless.'
He also stated that the hat had been immediately discarded.

KUALA LUMPUR, July 31 — Malaysia's mandatory retirement age of 60 will be reviewed with the possibility of being raised, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim announced today as part of the 13th Malaysia Plan (RMK13). While tabling the plan in Parliament, Anwar said the government aims to increase the participation of older adults and minority groups in the labour market. 'The mandatory retirement age will also be reviewed to align with the transition to an ageing nation,' he said in his speech. Malaysia last increased its retirement age in 2012, when it was raised to 60. There have been recent proposals to raise this further to 65. Minister in the Prime Minister's Department (Law and Institutional Reform) Datuk Seri Azalina Othman Said previously suggested that such a move would better reflect current realities, such as increased life expectancy and better health outcomes. However, the proposal has faced opposition from groups such as the Malaysian Youth Council, which has argued that the policy is not suitable for Malaysia's current labour market dynamics. The proposal comes as Malaysia faces a rapidly ageing society. A projection released earlier this month by the Department of Statistics Malaysia showed the country's median age is expected to rise significantly, from 32.8 years in 2030 to 40.7 years in 2060.

Anwar also emphasised the importance of strengthening the country's competitiveness by focusing on the development of local technology and digital transformation. 'Today, a generational opportunity in artificial intelligence (AI) is right before us and must not be missed. Malaysia has set a clear direction to lead the Southeast Asian economy in AI, digital technology, and the renewable energy industry, with the aspiration of emerging as a globally influential player,' he said. Anwar said the adoption of local technological innovation will be prioritised to stimulate economic growth, particularly through the development of strategic digital assets such as AI, data analytics, and digital government systems. 'This step is crucial to strengthening the nation's economic competitiveness, while also developing a more sustainable and high-impact industry in line with the ambition of becoming an AI-driven nation,' he added.
