WWE banned 'wild' request from top stars over major safety concerns
WWE superstars Jade Cargill and Naomi wanted to take things to another level in their No Holds Barred Match.
The real life friends culminated their bitter on-screen rivalry with a brutal weapon-filled bout at Evolution last month with Bianca Belair as the special guest referee.
Speaking exclusively to Metro before WWE's upcoming Road To Clash in Paris tour of Europe, Jade admitted some of their suggestions for the match were rejected by bosses.
'There was so much we wanted to use that was asked,' she laughed. 'We wanted to use mace, that was going to be tough. And then we wanted to use razors, and that was going to be tough, but I welcome it!'
However, not surprisingly there were some safety concerns when it came to the idea of spraying mace at a live event.

'I wish we were able to use the mace. [But] we gotta think about the crowd, we don't want anybody in the crowd to be maced, because mace goes so far,' she added.
'That would've been wild! The whole first front row would have been lit with mace!'
I pointed out us at the Metro would've loved the headlines made from that level of drama, and Jade laughed and insisted 'we don't need that'.
Jade and Naomi, who is currently out of action for an undisclosed reason, also 'wanted to go into the crowd', which is something the women of WWE seldom get to do.
'I love interacting with the crowd,' she smiled. 'One, you get your money's worth. But two, it's that moment that people bring back with them, and they forever talk about it.'
Jade is hoping to make more memories when WWE kicks off its return to Europe next week, as the tour culminates with SmackDown in Lyon, France, as well as Clash In Paris and Raw in the City of Love.
'I think it was the Lyon crowd that really started that whole European craziness and fans going wild,' she said.
'I couldn't hear anything. You just lost the noise,' she recalled, admitting it was her 'first time experiencing such a crowd' – but it's an environment she thrives in.
She added: 'The louder the crowd, the bigger the crowd, the more I come alive.'
That proved to be the case earlier this year when Jade returned from injury at Elimination Chamber to attack Naomi, revealing the latter as the mystery attacker after months of build up.
She still 'gets goosebumps talking about it', as the wrestling star reflected on the incredible reaction that night.
'I didn't know what the Canadian crowd was going to the reaction was going to be, because Naomi is so loved,' she explained.
'I know a lot of people are waiting for, 'What's happening? When is she coming back? Who's the person who did it?' So I think the whole twist from me going from Liv and then attacking Naomi was jaw dropping.'
Jade has also had some embarrassing moments in the ring, including a particularly mortifying one just over a year ago when she slipped off the top rope at Clash At The Castle in Glasgow.
'I've never failed in wrestling, was when I got on that top rope and I had failed,' she said after laughing with her head in her hands.
'Everybody backstage was comforting me, and I remember people were showing me their mishaps. I'm like, 'Yeah, but you gotta understand, it's my first one. It was on TV!' Oh my gosh.
'And everybody's like, 'Jade, look, let me show you my time. This is mine and this is mine. You just have a target on your back'. But that was my most embarrassing moment.'
Jade acknowledge that you've 'gotta make mistakes' in wrestling, but she is always looking to be 'perfect' in the ring.
'It's how you turn around and you make that story from that mistake, and how you come out on top with these mistakes,' she pointed out.
She'll be hoping for a much smoother ride in the UK and Europe, with her and the rest of the roster buzzing to get back everywhere from Manchester and Dublin to Lyon and Paris. More Trending
'Europe is just an electric crowd. I don't think anything's like it. If anything, I feel like they're all competing with one another,' she laughed.
'One's like crazy, and the other is like, 'Okay, watch this. We're going to be better! It's great, and it shows us exactly what we're here for.'

Cancel your weekend plans to binge Sheridan Smith's 'outstanding' Netflix drama
It looks like Netflix subscribers are discovering a Sheridan Smith crime drama that first aired on ITV in 2012. Mrs Biggs is climbing up the streamer's ranking of the platform's top 10 TV shows – making a convincing argument for a mid-August weekend watch. Smith – who has so many British dramas to her name it can be easy to let one slip – stars in this five-part drama, which is based on the true story of the Great Train Robbery. The drama focuses on the relationship between Charmian, played by Smith, and Ronnie Biggs, played by Daniel Mays. It follows everything from their first lovestruck meeting and the fateful 1963 train heist, to its aftermath and their eventual divorce in 1976, after Biggs fathered a child in Brazil. We see the petty crook meet his soon-to-be wife on, of all places, a train. 'The future is full of possibilities,' he tells her. 'The past will only drag you down.' With that, the Biggs couple set off on a crime spree before they eventually decide to settle down for a quiet married life. That is, until the 'one last job' pops up in the chance to join the train robbers. To view this video please enable JavaScript, and consider upgrading to a web browser that supports HTML5 video Some labelled the drama a sanitised version of events, but it was inspired by a letter Biggs sent to his wife following the death of their son Nicholas. Biggs's former wife Charmian was also a consultant on the show. The show's writer and executive producer Jeff Pope said he wanted to set out a romantic tale, rather than a romanticised one. 'We show Ron as perhaps a little too wilfully optimistic and Charmian is the cold voice of reason throughout. It absolutely would be a danger of a piece like this to romanticise it,' he told The Guardian. 'It will get laughed out of court if it's a slushfest. In the first episode, they steal, he strikes her, we acknowledge the fact he had a criminal record; further down the line, Charmian has an abortion by another man. We don't pull back, we don't flinch.' Praised at the time of its release for the quality of the acting and the excitement of the episodes, TV viewers have shared their positive reception over the years, as Mrs Biggs has been available on ITVX as well as Netflix. Taking to X, @AshWoody90 praised: 'Mrs Biggs on Netflix, possibly one the best things I have ever watched.' More Trending @elliot_gonzalez commended the creative partnership between the show's writer and star, writing: 'Jeff Pope and Sheridan Smith should always work together. Mrs Biggs, The Widower, Cilla and now The Moorside. All outstanding work.' @TVChatty wrote: 'All week I've been watching Mrs Biggs on ITV3. Why did I not watch it first time? Fantastic story and great acting. Really enjoyed it.' @lizcurran echoed: 'Sheridan Smith is wonderful in Mrs Biggs – she is one of my favourite actors. Utterly mesmerising – always.' BBC show that 'cost £30,000,000 axed after just one season'
Survivor has reportedly been cancelled by the BBC after just one season on the air. The new version of the reality show hit screens in 2023 in a primetime Saturday night slot with comedian Joel Dommett at the helm – and reportedly cost the broadcaster £30,000,000 to produce. Survivor saw 18 people compete in a series of challenges on a desert island to win £100,000, just as the original noughties show had tasked contestants with. Yet the programme struggled to attract viewers. Survivor was reportedly in jeopardy as soon as after the first episode aired on the BBC, because it only attracted 2.6 million viewers on average, despite airing in the post-Strictly Saturday slot. The ratings were around two million less than the numbers Michael McIntyre's The Wheel pulled in the week prior – which allegedly prompted crisis talks among TV execs at the time. To view this video please enable JavaScript, and consider upgrading to a web browser that supports HTML5 video There had been rumours the show was on the chopping block last year and it has now been reported that Survivor is no more. Joel told The Sun: 'It just shows you how nothing is a given in telly. I thought Survivor would be huge. I thought that would be my job for the next 20 years. 'I've done shows and thought that's not coming back and it keeps coming back and then you do something like Survivor, which you think is guaranteed and it doesn't come back.' More Trending Joel told Metro last year he remained hopeful Survivor would return for a second season – although he admitted it needed an overhaul. He said: 'Fingers crossed… there's a lot of stuff that we would do slightly differently. Like with every first series, it's hard, so I think a second series would be amazing. 'Everyone seems to really love it, so I'm excited that – hopefully – [we get to] do another one.' View More » Metro contacted the BBC for comment. Got a story?
