Prince William is going to get his way— one way or the other. The Prince of Wales has hired his mother's divorce lawyers in a stunning move that shocked Buckingham Palace.
William has been regularly using his father's lawyers Harbottle & Lewis and its partner, Gerrard Tyrrell — and made the move to Mishcon de Reya, which represented Princess Diana in her divorce from Charles a year before her accidental death.'William wanted to strike out on his own,' a source tells the Daily Mail, who broke this news. 'He did not want to continue using his father's lawyers. It's as simple as that. He wants to be his own man.'

Camilla Reportedly Turned Meghan & Kate Into 'Targets'-Her Shocking Role in Their Feud
Inside William & Kate's 'Nightmare' That Almost 'Crushed' Their MarriageThe unexpected move has been 'the talk of legal circles' and Buckingham Palace thinks it's 'the latest example of his desire to follow a different path from that of his father.' William's friend told the Daily Mail, saying 'William wants to do things differently from his father, and wants to be seen to do them differently.'
Even though he did hire his late mother's divorce lawyers, there isn't anything to worry about for the Royal couple. Kate Middleton returned to public duties after she announced her remission after her cancer diagnosis and thanked her husband for his continuous support. It also comes after William described his new changes for the Earthshot Prize Awards, 'I can only describe what I'm trying to do, and that's I'm trying to do it differently and I'm trying to do it for my generation. And to give you more of an understanding around it, I'm doing it with maybe a smaller 'r' in the royal, if you like. That's maybe a better way of saying it.'
'So it's more about impact, philanthropy, collaboration, convening, and helping people,' he continued. 'And I'm also going to throw empathy in there as well, because I really care about what I do. It helps impact people's lives. And I think we could do with some more empathetic leadership around the world. So that's what I'm trying to bring. That's what Catherine is trying to bring as well.'

King Charles Forced To Skip This Major Tradition Amid Drastic Changes in the Royal Family
King Charles III will be breaking royal tradition at this year's Trooping the Colour. According to The Times of London, King Charles will not ride on horseback at this year's Trooping the Colour parade, as has been tradition for reigning monarchs. Instead, Charles will ride in a carriage alongside Queen Camilla for the procession from Buckingham Palace to Horse Guards Parade and back on Saturday, June 14. More from SheKnows All the Best Photos of the Royal Family From the Past 20 Years Per The Times, Charles is unlikely to ever ride in the parade again. The outlet did not give an official reason as to why Charles will skip the ride, but the King is currently receiving weekly treatment for cancer. He rode in a carriage last year shortly after revealing his cancer diagnosis. Charles rode as sovereign in 2023, marking the first time the monarch had ridden in the parade since Queen Elizabeth in 1986. Charles' mother rode Burmese, her trusty mare, until she was retired, after which the Queen travelled in a carriage from 1987 until her final appearance in 2022. After briefly reviving the tradition, Charles will once again retire it and perhaps for good. This latest shift away from tradition comes amid several changes happening behind the scenes, allegedly stemming from Prince William's new vision for the monarchy. In May, Kate Mansey, a royal editor for the Times, claimed William is planning for 'quite a radical departure, really, from what The King does, or what the late Queen did.' Mansey claimed that William is less interested in the ribbon-cutting and public appearances we're used to seeing the Royals do and wants the family to be more associated with real charitable projects. Mansey claimed that William 'wants to come away and think, 'I've made a difference there, there's money that's gone into that community centre or there's something that's happened because I went there,' rather than just showing up and shaking some hands.' The Trooping the Colour parade may be an early sign that old traditions are changing in the Royal Family. Wayne Lewis, Atlantic Starr Singer and Founding Member, Dies at 68
Wayne Lewis, a founding member of the R&B group Atlantic Starr, has died at the age of 68. The band confirmed his passing in a social media post on Friday (June 7), noting that the musician died on Thursday. No cause of death has been disclosed. More from Billboard Gone But Not Forgotten: Musicians We Lost in 2025 BRIT Awards 2026 to Be Held Outside London for First Time Mariah Carey's 'Type Dangerous' Tops This Week's Favorite New Music Poll 'It's with great sadness we have to post the passing of Wayne Lewis on June 5, 2025,' Atlantic Starr wrote on Facebook. 'Please keep the family in your prayers and respect their privacy #waynelewis #restinpeace #flyhigh Sunrise 4/13/1957 Sunset 6/5/2025 #restinpeaceWayne.' Lewis served as a vocalist and keyboardist for Atlantic Starr, which he co-founded in 1976 in White Plains, N.Y., alongside his brothers David Lewis (vocals, guitar) and Jonathan Lewis (keyboards, trombone), as well as drummer Porter Carroll Jr., bassist Clifford Archer and percussionist-flutist Joseph Phillips. Other early members included lead singer Sharon Bryant, trumpeter William Sudderth III and saxophonist Damon Rentie. Bryant and Rentie were later replaced by Barbara Weathers and Koran Daniels, respectively. Atlantic Starr became a fixture in R&B throughout the late 1970s and 1980s. The group signed with A&M Records (and later to Warner Bros. Records, among other labels), releasing their self-titled debut album in 1978, followed by their sophomore effort, Straight to the Point, the next year. The band achieved its first top 10 hit on Billboard's Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart with 'Circles' (No. 2) from the 1982 album Brilliance. Their biggest commercial success came in 1987 when 'Always,' from 1986's All in the Name of Love, reached No. 1 on both the Billboard Hot 100 chart and Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs. Atlantic Starr earned a total of three top 10 hits on the Hot 100 and 11 top 10s on Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs. 'My First Love' in 1989 was their only other No. 1 on the latter chart. In recent years, Atlantic Starr continued to perform with Lewis and current members Jonathan Lewis, Melessa Pierce and Shammah Carter. The group's most recent album, Metamorphosis, was released in 2017. Following the announcement of Lewis' death, fans flooded social media with heartfelt tributes and condolences. 'His band gave my generation so much listening pleasure,' one fan wrote. Another shared, 'Nooooo I am devastated seeing this. My condolences to all family and friends.' A third commenter added, 'A great songwriter. Atlantic Starr was better once he became leader. He will be missed.' Kate ‘in Disgust' of Harry Amid Reports Their Relationship Has ‘Dramatically Deteriorated' Under the ‘Influence' of Meghan
It's hard to keep track of all the feuds in the British Royal family at this point. King Charles is feuding with Prince Harry. So is Prince William. And it seems Prince William is also feuding with Prince Andrew. Everyone seems to be taking sides. And recently, there were reports that Kate Middleton was trying to fix her husband's relationship with her brother, Prince Harry, with whom she's always been close. Reportedly, that's not true anymore, if it ever was. Instead, it seems like she's just supporting her husband and his decisions regarding his brother. An unnamed source told Us Weekly that the Prince and Princess of Wales 'just don't understand why Harry doesn't stay quiet.' But there's more. According to Kinsey Schofield, host of the 'To Di For Daily' podcast, William is also upset about how Kate has been treated. More from StyleCaster Princess Alexandra Subtly Took a Side in Charles & Harry's Feud Amid Reports There's 'No Turning Back' in Their Relationship Prince Edward Could Predict 'Desperately Lonely' Harry's Future Amid Reports Charles' Funeral May Be the Last Time He Ever Sees His Family Again Related: Did William really cheat on Kate? 'Catherine has been nothing but supportive of her husband – and that's exactly why Prince William is so deeply hurt,' Schofield explained. 'His pain doesn't come from personal insults or headlines. It comes from his instinct to protect the woman he loves… But what cuts the deepest is Harry's treatment of Catherine. She's always loved him, always treated him like a little brother. That's the betrayal William won't forget… But Harry never seems to think about the consequences.' British broadcaster and photographer Helena Chard told Fox New Digital that Middleton had been 'saddened' by the rift between the brothers. But she won't intervene. 'Catherine and Harry shared a fun humor and were often seen giggling together at events,' Chard explained. 'Sadly and upsettingly, Princess Catherine was dragged into the public negative narrative which was a real smack round the face for the kind sister-in-law who tried hard to be the peacemaker between the brothers.' Recent reports had indicated that, even though Middleton was upset at Harry's recent interview, she was trying to mediate between the brothers. 'Kate's deeply upset with Harry, but she's also frustrated that William and the rest of the family have allowed things to deteriorate this badly,' the insider said, adding that, 'It's heartbreaking for her to watch the family so publicly divided.' also reported that 'William is furious that Harry's speaking out again and doing interviews – he's convinced this isn't the end of it.' And Prince William has, therefore, given instructions to the rest of the family not to communicate with Harry. 'He's made it clear to the rest of the family that they should keep their distance from the Sussexes, because anything shared could be turned against them,' the report also said. According to Royal expert Hilary Fordwich, all of this only adds to the strained relationship between Middleton and Prince Harry, who used to be close. 'Princess Catherine and Prince Harry's relationship has dramatically deteriorated over recent years,' Fordwich claimed. 'There is a huge sense of betrayal and broader frustration, as well as a massive cultural clash. How Harry has changed under the influence of Meghan Markle has been baffling both to the royal family and beyond.' 'Catherine, in particular, is deeply wounded by Harry's media disclosures airing family grievances and betraying any family loyalty while dismissing royal values. Catherine was once the peacemaker between the feuding brothers. She often encouraged William to reconcile,' she also said, adding, 'However, after years of futile efforts, she has now thrown her hands up in disgust, stepping back from any role of attempting to mediate a reconciliation since the rift between the brothers kept widening.' The drama continues, and it doesn't seem like it'll get better anytime soon.
