Hazza bin Zayed performs Eid Al Adha prayer and receives well-wishers

ABU DHABI (ALETIHAD)His Highness Sheikh Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ruler's Representative in Al Ain Region, performed Eid Al Adha prayer this morning at the Sheikh Khalifa Grand Mosque in Al Ain Region.Also performing prayer were sheikhs, officials and dignitaries from across the Al Ain Region, and a large congregation of worshippers.His Highness listened to the Eid Al Adha prayer sermon, where the imam highlighted the virtues and profound significance of the sacred occasion, underscoring its role in strengthening family bonds, fostering unity and compassion, and promoting social cohesion and harmony within the community.The imam prayed to God to bless the UAE, its leadership, and its people, and to continue bestowing upon the nation the blessings of security, stability and prosperity, under the leadership of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE.His Highness Sheikh Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan then received well-wishers at Al Maqam Palace, where they extended their greetings and congratulations on Eid Al Adha.His Highness received Eid greetings from sheikhs, senior officials, local dignitaries, Al Ain citizens and residents, and members of various communities residing in the region.
The well-wishers extended their greetings on the occasion of Eid Al Adha, praying to God to bless His Highness with good health and wellbeing, grant the UAE's leadership and people continued progress and prosperity, and bestow goodness and blessings upon Arab and Muslim nations for the sacred occasion.

Republican removes post criticising Sikh congressional prayer
Republican Congresswoman Mary Miller is facing criticism after she said it was 'troubling' that a Muslim led the morning prayer in US Congress, and then changed her social media post once she learnt that it was actually a Sikh man who had spoken. 'America was founded as a Christian nation, and I believe our government should reflect that truth,' she wrote in her social media post on X on Friday. The representative later removed her post after being admonished by both her Democratic and Republican colleagues. 'Mary, you're a racist, bigoted, disgusting, and shameful person, you don't deserve to represent anyone in public office,' wrote Democratic Representative Maxwell Frost. The man who led the prayer, Giani Surinder Singh of the Gurdwara South Jersey Sikh Society, was invited to be the morning guest chaplain by Republican Representative Jeff Van Drew according to Politico. Republican Representative David Valadao took Ms Miller to task for her post. 'I'm troubled by my colleague's remarks about this morning's Sikh prayer, which have since been deleted,' he wrote on X. 'Religious freedom is one of our nation's founding principles, and I started the American Sikh Congressional Caucus to draw attention to this very issue and work towards religious tolerance for all.' Representative Miller's comments, which were also widely considered to be Islamophobic, came on the first day of Eid Al Adha, one of the most important holidays of Islam. Morning invocations are not unusual in the US Congress, and are often given by religious leaders and figures.

UAE President exchanges Eid Al-Adha greetings with world leaders
6 June 2025 21:50 ABU DHABI (WAM) UAE President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan exchanged Eid Al-Adha greetings in phone calls on Friday with His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Emir of the State of Qatar; His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia; His Majesty King Mohammed VI of the Kingdom of Morocco; and Dr Masoud Pezeshkian, President of the Islamic Republic of Iran. During the calls, His Highness and the leaders exchanged warm wishes, praying that the occasion would bring blessings, prosperity and peace to their peoples and countries. They also expressed their hopes for continued security, stability and wellbeing for Muslim nations and the whole world.
