Emma Raducanu v Aryna Sabalenka live: British No 1 faces world No 1 in Wimbledon rematch at Cincinnati Open
The British No 1 battled gamely against the world No 1 in a tight encounter on Centre Court at Wimbledon last month before succumbing to a 7-6, 6-4 defeat, and is out for revenge here. Raducanu carries reasonable form into the contest after reaching the semi-finals of the Washington Open in late July, although she was then thrashed by Wimbledon finalist Amanda Anisimova in Montreal.
As the 30th seed in Cincinnati, Raducanu received a bye to the second round where she met Serbia's Olga Danilovic, who thrashed Britain's Katie Boulter in round one. Raducanu came through in straight sets to set up this match with Sabalenka, who comfortably beat the 2023 Wimbledon champion Marketa Vondrousova in her second-round tie.
The tournament is staged at the Lindner Family Tennis Center and is one of the 10 WTA 1000 events on the calendar. It is also considered the key tune-up before the US Open, where Raducanu won her shock grand slam title in 2021, and where Sabalenka is the reigning champion.
Raducanu wins first match under new coach
Raducanu reached the third round of the Cincinnati Open after a straight-sets win over Olga Danilovic.
The British number one marked her first match since Rafael Nadal's former coach Francis Roig joined her team with a confident 6-3 6-2 victory.
Roig may not have been overly impressed when Raducanu was broken to love in the first game, but the 2021 US Open champion responded well.
After four breaks of serve between the pair in the opening six games, Raducanu came from 30-0 down to grab another for 5-3.
She had won seven points in a row to bring up three set points and took the first with an ace.
In the second, Raducanu gave her Serbian opponent nothing for free, drawing out errors and eventually earning a break for 3-2.
She did not drop another game, wrapping up a fine victory in an hour and 20 minutes.

NFL great Aaron Donald's terrifying ordeal with alleged stalker revealed in newly surfaced court documents
Details of Super Bowl winner Aaron Donald's frightening ordeal with an alleged stalker have been revealed in newly surfaced court files from Los Angeles County, where the three-time NFL Defensive Player of the Year admittedly feared for his family's safety and his own. Donald, a married father of three who was regarded as one of the toughest players in the NFL before retiring in 2024, filed the restraining order against his alleged stalker in April after what's described in the court filings as years of unwanted harassment by the woman, whom he claims to have never met. The woman, Janelle Anwar, is accused of sending threatening and harassing emails to the Donald family, according to court files obtained by Daily Mail. The Athletic first reported details of the temporary restraining order request. Anwar is further accused of sending packages and balloons to Donald's children, and travelled to Pittsburgh where he was holding a football camp, as she confirmed to Daily Mail on Wednesday. Although Donald claims he's never met Anwar, she nonetheless filed a pair of divorce petitions against him seeking millions of dollars. Donald also received Google Chat messages from his alleged stalker that he took as a threat against his 3-year-old son, according to the temporary restraining order request. 'So make sure you pay for (him) to live … Cause that's what it will be … You will have to pay for his life now and everyone will get a cut,' the court papers claim that she wrote online. Speaking to Daily Mail on Wednesday, Anwar denied ever stalking Donald, explaining that the two met over social media in 2023 – three years after the court papers allege the harassment supposedly began. She alleged that Donald and his wife are not really married and that the wife of Rams coach Sean McVay is secretly missing - claims she also made to Donald's attorney, Peter Lauzon, according to the TRO request. McVay's wife, Veronika, is not missing, Lauzon mentioned in the filing. 'Ms. Anwar spoke in a very erratic and confused manner and claimed that Petitioner's current wife and Petitioner were not married,' Lauzon wrote in the filing. 'Ms. Anwar further stated that Petitioner's children have gone missing and that Petitioner should "be careful" and "to watch out." 'Ms. Anwar repeatedly asked me whether or not I had recently seen Sean McVay's wife as she has been missing for months,' Lauzon wrote. 'I know this not to be true.' The Athletic spoke with several professionals about the dangers celebrities face from stalkers. 'One of the things that a lot of stalking survivors talk about, famous or otherwise, is the constant state of worry they had about what the person may or may not do, where they may or may not show up,' Carlos Cuevas, a professor of criminology and criminal justice at Northeastern University, told The Athletic. 'The unpredictability is a big concern and … the content of what they're saying. Some of it might be just more uncomfortable and some of it can be straight-up scary.' A 2022 report to congress by the attorney general found that fewer than a third of all stalking victims reach out to authorities, fearing that such efforts could make the situation worse. 'Stalking is challenging to police effectively as it is a pattern-based, rather than an incident-based crime,' the report said. 'Responding to stalking cases often necessitates specialized knowledge and is a significant investigative effort.' Donald, a Super Bowl champion, left many NFL observers surprised when he retired from football last year at the age of 33. 'I'm burnt out. The best way to say it is I'm full, I'm complete. I'm satisfied with what I was able to do in 10 years,' he said. 'I think the passion to play the game is no longer there for me.' The defensive tackled was widely regarded as one of the very best to ever play in his position and since calling it a day, has frequently been asked to reconsider. Just last week, he joked he would return for the Rams if they traded for Micah Parsons of the Dallas Cowboys, who demaded a trade due to his ongoing contract standoff with the organization.

Tom Brady and Greg Olsen reveal the truth behind their Fox rivalry after NFL great placed former tight end in the booth
Fox Sports brought some criticism down on their heads when Tom Brady replaced Emmy-award winning analyst Greg Olsen in the No. 1 color commentary spot for the network's NFL coverage. Olsen, recognized as one of the best in the business, was demoted to the second team with Joe Davis while Brady took the top spot alongside Kevin Burkhardt. Brady spent all of last season getting more acclimated to the job, but still faced detractors as the seven-time Super Bowl champion appeared to need to iron out some wrinkles that Olsen very clearly didn't have. However, the two were able to treat their situation - and each other - with mutual respect and grace while trying to be as amicable as possible. 'There's a part with our jobs where people want to write about it. I don't give a s**t about any of that,' Brady said in a recent appearance on Olsen's podcast 'Youth Inc.' 'I just care about my relationship with you, because I know if I'm cool with you, that's all that matters,' Brady continued. The pair framed their conversation in the context of youth sports - with the two showing how the always competitive broadcasting field could compare to kids' athletics. 'I've been very comfortable sharing it with you and sharing it with everyone else, I kind of think it's cool for you and I in this moment to show we can both want to be great, and it doesn't mean I want either of us to be bad,' Olsen said. Brady hasn't been as outspoken about his relationship with Olsen. However, he revealed on the show about how much he's learned from the former tight end - including how he watched Olsen's game tape to improve. 'When I look in broadcasting, I was very much a rookie this last year. But I looked up to a lot of people who I thought, "Man, he does a great job." And you're obviously one of the greats already at such a young age,' Brady told Olsen. 'I watched so much Greg Olsen broadcasting tape, and I just said, what does he do that I really like that maybe I can apply in my prep … or my on-air?' Brady also compared his competition with Olsen to his struggles on the depth chart early in his career - when he fought up the ranks at Michigan and with the Patriots.
