Walkers' Club felicitates meritorious students

The Walkers International (District-102), Regional Councillor-3, K. Satyam, on Thursday asked Walkers' Clubs across the State to actively support meritorious students as part of their charitable activities in Vizianagaram and other parts of the State.
Mr. Satyam, along with Toshniwal Walkers Club President Vets Satyanarayana Murthy and others, distributed cash prizes and dictionaries to students who performed well in class 10 and intermediate examinations at a function held at Alakananda Park in Vizianagaram. He said that the initiative has motivated many walkers to support talented youth from marginalised families.'
Mr. Satyama, a retired teacher, announced that through Walkers' Associations, yoga camps would be organised. These camps would cater to all age groups, including college students, to help them manage academic stress and improve their overall fitness.
He thanked the government for launching the YogaAndhra programme which aims to teach the basics of yoga to everyone.

Tripurantakam: Prakasam district joint collector Ronanki Gopala Krishna announced that the government is conducting a month-long Yogaandhra campaign to create awareness about yoga, with the goal of organising yoga programmes across the state involving two crore people on International Yoga Day on June 21. A yoga practice programme was held on Tuesday morning at the Sri Sri Bala Tripurasundari Devi temple premises in Tripurantakam as part of the Yogaandhra-2025 campaign. Joint Collector Gopala Krishna, Markapur Sub-Collector Sahadit Venkata Trivinag, Yerragondapalem constituency TDP in-charge Guduri Erixion Babu, the temple chairman IV Subba Rao, and others participated in the programme. Speaking on the occasion, JC Gopala Krishna mentioned that the state government has set a target of 5 lakh people participating in the yoga programme in Visakhapatnam on June 21st, where Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu will participate. As part of the Yogaandhra campaign, he explained that four tourist destinations in the district-- Gundlakamma, Tripurantakam, Pakala, and Kothapatnam Beach-- have been selected for yoga programmes on the International Yoga Day. He emphasised that yoga should be part of everyone's daily life, as regular practice leads to an active lifestyle and healthy living while helping prevent various ailments. Regarding the campaign's progress, the JC noted that approximately 2,000 people participated in yoga practice at the programme in Tripurantakam, under the guidance of Patanjali yoga guru Bala Subramanyam. He reported that about 9.66 lakh people have registered in the district so far. He said that one hundred master trainers have been trained in yoga, who have subsequently trained 6415 people. These trainers are now providing yoga training and awareness at the village level, he added.

Anantapur: Collector Dr. Vinod Kumar V., IAS, directed officials to expedite the ongoing works under AMRUT 2.0 during the District Advisory Monitoring Committee (DAMC) meeting held on Tuesday at the Mini Conference Hall of the Anantapur Collectorate. The Collector emphasized the need for swift implementation of projects in Anantapur, Guntakal, and Tadipatri municipalities under the AMRUT 2.0 scheme. He instructed Public Health Engineering officials to take a proactive approach to complete works under the Hybrid Annuity Model and to install display boards in line with the Collectorate setup across all municipalities, with designated in-charge officers for supervision. He also urged officials to focus on Yoga Andhra registrations and land surveys, recommending a drive-mode operation with regular monitoring. The meeting was attended by Public Health Executive Engineer Adinarayana, APSPDCL SE Seshadri Shekhar, Urban Development SE Chandrasekhar, Horticulture AD Firoz Khan, Public Health DEs Ketan Kumar Reddy and Jyothi, and several Municipal Commissioners.
