Three held in Bowenpally for trafficking opium from Rajasthan to Hyderabad
The accused were identified as Savlaram Bishnoi, 43, Hapuram Bishnoi, 38, and Lalaram Bishnoi, 41, all natives of the Jalore district in Rajasthan.
'The prime accused, Savlaram, has reportedly been running the racket with his brother for over a decade, targeting members of the Rajasthani community settled in Hyderabad by pushing false claims that opium boosts strength, vitality, and sexual health,' explained an officer from EAGLE.
According to him, a tip-off received over 45 days ago led to an intensive technical surveillance effort, which eventually tracked a consignment leaving Bhinmal in Rajasthan in an SUV. Officials later identified another SUV being used as a pilot vehicle. On July 18, both vehicles were intercepted in Bowenpally, where the accused were waiting to deliver the drugs to local customers.
'Opium abuse has led many into addiction, poor health, and financial ruin. This gang exploits migrants from their home region with pseudo-medicinal claims to sell addictive substances,' explained the officer.
The investigation revealed that Savlaram had previously worked as a welder in Hyderabad and began drug peddling when his agricultural income proved insufficient. His brother Gangaram was arrested in 2019 by the Bowenpally police in a similar case. Since then, he has been helping Savlaram operate from Rajasthan. Hapuram, a relative, had joined the operation recently after being promised a commission. Lalaram, who runs a welding shop in Adilabad, has been helping in storage and logistics.
EAGLE said the gang earned up to ₹4 lakh per kg of opium sold. The seized consignment, worth around ₹17 lakh, had been handed over to the authorities for further action.

Absconding ganja peddler held in Hyderabad; 28 clients identified
HYDERABAD: Nearly a week after EAGLE officials apprehended 14 individuals in Gachibowli for attempting to purchase ganja, the missing peddler, Sandeep, was arrested on Thursday. According to EAGLE officials, Sandeep, a native of Karnataka, had been sourcing ganja from a supplier based in Maharashtra, was absconding. Police seized 2kg ganja from Sandeep at the time of his arrest. Sandeep is reported to have a clientele of around 100 individuals and was operating through a WhatsApp group. All those arrested will be sent to de-addiction centre, pending court approval. So far, 28 of Sandeep's 100 clients have been identified, and efforts are underway to trace remaining individuals. All 100 clients are being treated as accused in the case.

Drug bust in IT corridor: EAGLE nabs 14 more, dismantles network
Hyderabad: In a continuation of a decoy operation initiated on 12 July, Cyberabad's Elite Action Group for Drug Law Enforcement (EAGLE) arrested 14 more individuals on Friday. The agency has now apprehended a total of 28 persons in the decoy operation near HDFC Bank, Gachibowli, effectively dismantling a larger drug supply network involving over 100 individuals. These latest arrests occurred as the accused arrived to purchase ganja from a person from Maharashtra. Those arrested on Friday include Praneeth (Private Event Manager), Akshith (Marketing and Sales Executive), Sandeep (SAP Developer), Sravan (IC Consultancy), Khushter (Software), Umamaheswar (Business), Kireeti (Receptionist), Sathwik (IT Software), Manish (Senior Analyst), Sunil (HR Manager), Aditya (Business), Yashaswi (Duty Medical Officer), Kirit (Business), and Karthik (Job Trails). EAGLE, acting on intelligence, identified a repeat offender involved in the illegal sale and distribution of ganja in Gachibowli. This individual, a resident of Maharashtra, has been regularly frequenting the vicinity of HDFC Bank, Cyberabad Branch, Gachibowli, to conduct illicit drug sales, primarily targeting IT employees and private sector workers. According to EAGLE, the suspect transports 5 kilograms of ganja in 100 packets, each weighing 50 grams, selling each packet for Rs 3,000. He reportedly uses WhatsApp to communicate with clients, sending coded messages indicating his arrival and the availability of the substance. CH Roopesh, SP EAGLE, stated that on 12 July, EAGLE formed multiple surveillance and decoy teams comprising plainclothes officers. These teams were strategically positioned around the HDFC Bank, Gachibowli area, to apprehend narcotics consumers.

EAGLE nabs 3 interstate drug peddlers, 3.25 kg opium worth Rs 17 lakh seized
Hyderabad: The sleuths of Elite Action Group for Drug Law Enforcement (EAGLE) worked on the leads and apprehended three drug peddlers from Rajasthan involved in the possession of Narcotic Drug - Opium (Afeem). Police seized 3.2 kg of drugs worth Rs 17 lakh. Police arrested Savlaram Bishnoi (43), Hapuram Bishnoi (38) and Lalaram Bishnoi (41) all native of Jalore District, Rajasthan. They were earning about Rs 4 lakh over every 1 kg of Afeem. According to the police, Telangana has a huge enterprising and bubbling diaspora from Rajasthan. Since the last few years drug smugglers are targeting this community and its youth by supplying them Opium and Amphetamine-based drugs. 45 days back Eagle received a very small lead that one consumer received Opioid drug delivery. The Eagle technical team worked hard for 45 days to develop this lead into an actionable intelligence. The prime accused Savlaram and his brother Gangaram came to Hyderabad for livelihood during the year 2008-2009 and learnt steel railing work. He has the habit of consuming Afeem for the past 20 years. As there is demand for Afeem among the Rajasthani people who are staying in Hyderabad, and selling of Afeem is profitable, he and his brother have been selling Afeem in Hyderabad for the past 10 years. In this process, during the year 2019 his brother Gangaram was arrested by Bowenpally Police while he was in possession of 3.4 kg of Afeem. As the surveillance of Police increased over Gangaram, he shifted to his native place and assisted Savlaram in procuring Afeem from the suppliers in Rajasthan and transporting the same to Hyderabad. Hapuram is a close relative of Savlaram and he promised of giving commission, to assist him in drug business and Lalaram he has been assisting Savlaram in transporting drugs to Hyderabad and also storing drugs in his house at Adilabad. About one month back Savlaram handed over 3.25 kg of Afeem drug to Lalaram. On Thursday, Savlaram contacted Lalaram and instructed him to get the above drug to Hyderabad. When Savlaram, Hapuram and Lalaram were waiting in Bowenpally area for selling the drug to their peddlers/customers, the EAGLE team apprehended them along with the drug.
