Crazy Rich Asians TV Series in the Works — Who's Returning From the Original Cast?
More Crazy Rich Asians are on the way… but there's a twist!
Seven years after Kevin Kwan's best-selling book series spawned a blockbuster movie, they're now being developed as a TV show for Max. The film's co-writer, Adele Lim, will serve as showrunner, executive-producing alongside Kwan and the film's director Jon M. Chu.

Kwan's trilogy consists of three books — Crazy Rich Asians, which was released in 2013, followed by 2015's China Rich Girlfriend and 2017's Rich People Problems.
The 2018 Crazy Rich Asians movie starred Henry Golding and Constance Wu as central couple Nick and Rachel, joined by a sprawling cast of well-known actors. Notable co-stars included Awkwafina, Gemma Chan, Ronny Chieng, Ken Jeong, Lisa Lu, Chris Pang, Nico Santos, Jimmy O. Yang and Michelle Yeoh, among others.
Because the project is in the early stages of development, TVLine's sister site Deadline reports that it's too soon to say which original cast members might reprise their roles in the new series.
A sequel to the 2018 film has also been in the works for some time, and according to this new report, the Max series does not conflict with the sequel; a second Crazy Rich Asians film is still being developed.

What to watch this weekend: New TV shows, movies on streaming
What to watch this weekend: New TV shows, movies on streaming What to watch this weekend: the eternal question. Week in and week out, streaming services unveil a slew of new series and films, from high-profile originals everybody is talking about to foreign acquisitions that you trip over while scrolling through the apps. It's hard to sort through it all. To help, we've listed out every new film, series and special that will stream June 5-7, 2025, across the major platforms. We've highlighted the TV shows (and a few movies) we think are a little more worth your notice, from soapy "Ginny & Georgia" on Netflix to George Clooney's big Broadway bow on Max and CNN. New on streaming Thursday, June 5 "Barracuda Queens" Season 2 (Netflix) "Bea's Block" (kids/family, Max) "Chespirito: Not Really on Purpose" (Max) "Ginny & Georgia" Season 3 (Netflix) The third season of Netflix's popular and emotional family drama ups the soapy antics for the new episodes: Georgia (Brianne Howey) has just been arrested for murder during her wedding− ruining her fairy-tale ending and putting the spotlight on the Millers like never before. It's always been Ginny (Antonia Gentry) and Georgia against the world, but the world has never come for them quite like this. "House on Fire" (BET+) "The Killer Clown: Murder on the Doorstep" (AMC+/Sundance Now) "Tires" Season 2 (Netflix) A new season of the sitcom arrives from comedian Shane Gillis. New on streaming Friday, June 6 "K.O." (movie, Netflix) "Mercy for None" (Netflix) "Phineas and Ferb" (Disney+) Debuting first on Disney Channel on June 5, this revival of the popular animated musical series from the 2000s brings back all the manic energy parents of Gen Z remember. "Predator: Killer of Killers" (movie, Hulu) A new and very different kind of installment in the "Predator" franchise, this (very adult) animated anthology film hails from director Dan Trachtenberg, who directed the well-reviewed seventh film in the series, "Prey" (2022). "Killer of Killer" has three different segments, each set in a different time period in history (the Vikings era, feudal Japan and World War II), and each with heroes encountering the titular alien killers in very bloody battles. And it's not the only "Predator" story from Trachtenberg this year; his film "Predator: Badlands" will open in theaters November 7. "Straw" (movie, Netflix) "The Survivors" (Netflix) New on streaming Saturday, June 7 "Soaring to Life: The Making of How to Train Your Dragon" (Peacock, TV special) "Good Night and Good Luck" ( 7 ET/4 PT, Max, CNN apps, with no login required) CNN and Max are giving viewers a taste of Broadway a night before the Great White Way's annual awards show. They're livestreaming the penultimate performance of George Clooney's Tony-nominated play based on the 2005 film starring and directed by Clooney. New on streaming Sunday, June 8

Paige DeSorbo Leaving Bravo's ‘Summer House' After 7 Seasons
Paige DeSorbo will not be returning to Bravo's Summer House after seven seasons. The podcaster, entrepreneur, and a woman in the arts champion confirmed on social media that she will not be a part of Season 10 of the long-running reality series. More from Deadline 'Project Runway Canada' Adds Spencer Badu As Judge & Aurora James As Mentor 'Love Island USA': Yulissa Escobar Exits The Villa Amid Backlash Over Resurfaced Racist Comments 'Love Island UK' Adds Rugby Player Conor Philips To Season 12 Cast Following Surprise Islander Exit 'I've made the decision not to return to Summer House,' DeSorbo shared on Instagram. 'Being part of this show has been one of the most rewarding chapters of my life — the friendships, the drama, the giggles, all unforgettable.' She continued, 'You've seen me grow up over these last 7 summers. I'll always be beyond grateful for the memories, the community, and the opportunities this wild ride has brought me. But like all good things (and some bad decisions), it's time for this chapter to close.' DeSorbo's Summer House exit comes after a massive year of professional growth outside the Bravo reality series. She and her former co-star and Giggly Squad podcast co-host Hannah Berner toured the U.S. with the Club Giggly comedy tour, selling out Radio City Music Hall twice. The duo also recently launched a YouTube video series that chronicled them trying new things in every city they stopped at. In addition, DeSorbo and Berner became New York Times bestsellers after the launch of their book How to Giggle. Just this week, DeSorbo launched her sleepware brand Daphne, inspired by one of her favorite hobbies — relaxing in bed. 'To my castmates, the fans, and my NBCU family: thank you. I never could've imagined what this journey would turn into — and how many of you would be along for the ride,' she added. 'And you haven't seen the last of me, I promise. So much more to do together, but for now, you know you can always find me and Daphne in my bed.' Read Paige DeSorbo's full statement below.
