Scorecard
Jane Maguire hit a six from the last ball as Ireland beat Pakistan to clinch the three-match T20 international series for Ireland with a four-wicket victory at Clontarf Cricket Club in Dublin.
The hosts claimed an 11-run win in the first game on Wednesday and brought that momentum into their second game as they wrapped up the series with a game to spare in remarkable fashion.
Ireland are now on course to match their impressive 3-0 T20 series win against Zimbabwe last month as they extended their winning streak in this format to nine games.
Lloyd Tennant's side will face Pakistan in the final game of the series at the same venue on Sunday at 16:00 BST.
Pakistan won the toss and opted to bat first, with Shawaal Zulfiqar (27 runs) and Muneeba Ali (33 runs), falling in consecutive overs after being bowled out by Lara McBride and Cara Murray.
McBride and Murray both took second wickets from Eyman Fatima and Natalia Pervaiz after their partnership of 54, as Pakistan eventually set a target of 168 at the break.
Ireland struggled in the early stages of their batting, with Amy Hunter run out for just six.
Captain Gaby Lewis and Leah Paul were both dismissed in the fifth over, before Orla Prendergast steadied the ship.
She ended as Ireland's top scorer with 51, including two sixes before she was taken out by Rameen Shamim.
Laura Delany with 42 runs and Rebecca Stokell with 34 helped to push Ireland closer to the target, but the defining moment came in the final over.
Maguire produced the goods for Tennant's side, hitting a six down the ground from the first delivery she faced to give Ireland a dramatic victory.

Marseille puts Rabiot and Rowe on transfer list for reported locker room fight

MARSEILLE, France (AP) — Marseille's season is already in turmoil after France midfielder Adrien Rabiot and England Under-21 forward Jonathan Rowe were put on the transfer list Tuesday and told to leave the club for 'unacceptable behavior.' The pair reportedly argued and fought in the locker room after Friday's 1-0 loss to Rennes, which prevailed with a stoppage-time goal despite being down to 10 players in their Ligue 1 season opener. Marseille's move puts doubt into team-building plans for coach Roberto De Zerbi just one week before the 1993 Champions League winner takes part in the draw for this season's competition. 'This decision was taken due to unacceptable behavior in the dressing room after the match against Rennes,' Marseille said in a statement. Rabiot and Rowe have been exiled 'in agreement with the technical staff and in accordance with the club's internal code of conduct,' said the club whose majority owner is American businessman Frank McCourt, the former Los Angeles Dodgers owner. Marseille qualified for the Champions League by finishing runner-up to Paris Saint-Germain in Ligue 1 in De Zerbi's first season at the club. The 30-year-old joined as a free agent last September after his contract expired at Juventus. Weeks earlier, Rowe had moved from English second-tier Norwich on an initial loan deal that was made permanent before this season. The transfer window in Europe closes Sept. 1. ___ AP soccer:

Scottie Scheffler Appears To Have Called Out European Golf Fans

Scottie Scheffler Appears To Have Called Out European Golf Fans originally appeared on The Spun. Scottie Scheffler continued his incredible hot streak over the weekend after overcoming a four-stroke deficit in Sunday's BMW Championship to secure his 18th PGA Tour win. Like with most things over the past few years, Scheffler made it look easy as he punctuated his walk down of Scotland's Robert MacIntyre with an outstanding chip-in on No. 17 to put the dagger is his opponent's hopes. This past weekend marked the fourth time in his career that Scheffler had come back from four strokes or more through 54 holes. And it also gave him his fifth victory on the PGA calendar — making him the first golfer since Tiger Woods to post back-to-back seasons of 5+ wins. At one point during the tournament, MacIntyre turned and shushed a fan after draining a putt on No. 14 to save par — something Scottie was given a front row seat to — and it led to Scheffler recalling his own experience with a fan across the pond at this year's Open Championship. Golf fans in the U.S. tend to be viewed as more rowdy than the typical overseas spectator — especially with events like the WM Phoenix Open. But the four-time major champion says he's received his fair share of heckling from fans all across the globe. Scheffler calls out 'silly' European fan "I didn't see any of that. I played with Bob when we were in Scotland. I heard some fairly choice words when I was leading the tournament in Ireland," Scheffler told reporters Saturday. "I think it's part of it. People have a tendency to say things that are dumb. I can think of a few things that were said to me in the final round in Ireland that were very far over the line," he added. "If you're a fan, it's only going to fire the guy up more, and I think just do your best to behave out there. It can be a little bit silly sometimes." Whatever the fan said certainly didn't appear to affect Scottie too much, as he coasted to a 17-under win to capture yet another major for his growing trophy case. Liverpool Transfer News: Double-deal derails £50m playmaker move

Liverpool had been hoping to agree a transfer with RB Leipzig for one of the club's brightest talents on the basis that one of the German club's big stars is likely to join Chelsea this summer. However, the latest update suggests that Leipzig have decided to turn their attention elsewhere. 🔴 Shop the LFC 2025/26 adidas home range 🚨2025/26 LFC x adidas range🚨 LFC x adidas Shop the home range today! The player in question is Harvey Elliott, who has seemingly been pushed out of Liverpool, despite having a really impressive start to his career on Merseyside. His performances in the first team have been positive but our transfer business has meant that his game time is increasingly limited. 🔴 Winning the U21 Euros looked to be the catalyst for an expensive move away, since he won the player of the tournament award, but none of his linked clubs appear to be interested anymore. Reports coming out of Leipzig now suggest that a new target has been pivoted to instead of him. Leipzig and Chelsea double-deal It always looked likely that Xavi Simons would join Chelsea, despite the illustrious depth they have in attacking areas. Enzo Marseca used six forwards throughout the Blues' 0-0 draw to Crystal Palace on the weekend and still no breakthrough came. As such, the Dutchman's move is likely to happen. That would have left Leipzig with a creative hole in their team and plenty of money to spend on a replacement, with interest having been lodged in Elliott, although no actual bid has been made. In Tuesday's dealsheet from The Athletic, it was understood that the Englishman remained a potential replacement for Simons, although his move has now been significantly derailed. The update stems from David Ornstein's understanding that Leipzig are now looking at bringing Christopher Nkunku back to the club, with talks stepping up with Chelsea for a permanent move. In his report, he said: "A deal for Nkunku to return to Leipzig is not considered close at this stage, and other forward options remain in play for the forward. The 27-year-old has been expected to leave this summer, with The Athletic reporting in November that he was not happy at the club." However, this move appears to make sense for all parties, except for the fact that the German club are swapping a 22-year-old for a player five years older, which is a bold decision given how young the current Leipzig squad is. You feel it's a bit of an opportunistic move to revive Nkunku's career. It would represent a double-deal between Leipzig and Chelsea, with one attacking player moving in order to make room for the other to take his place, with the finances for the moves relatively similar. Elliott will likely be stuck without a move this summer if the deal goes through since Liverpool hold the player in high esteem, especially since his campaign in the Euros last season, although where Arne Slot will play him this season, if at all, is going to cause headaches since he was set to leave. The player's desire to succeed at Liverpool has never been in doubt, to the extent that he was only considering a move away from Merseyside because it appeared to be the best decision for his career, rather than because he wants to leave. The fans and his teammates mean everything to him. As such, we're in a sticky situation. Of course, having a player of his talent to utilise this season is going to help bolster the side, he just wasn't in the initial plans which means Slot might have to rethink his tactical approach if a new suitor in the transfer market can't be found before September 1.
