Revealed: Staggering gap in Chelsea Nicolas Jackson and Alejandro Garnacho's valuations as Man United 'consider offering a swap deal'

Daily Mail4 days ago
Manchester United would face making up a substantial gap if they are to successfully swap Alejandro Garnacho for Nicolas Jackson this summer, due to Chelsea 's vast difference in valuations of the pair.
The Red Devils are seeking to offload Garnacho this summer, with the Argentine international one of the unwanted players placed into a 'bomb squad'.
Garnacho was told by Man United boss Ruben Amorim to find a new club in May, after the winger was unhappy to start on the bench in the Europa League final.
Man United have been in the market for a striker this summer, with the hope their pursuit can by aided by the sales of Garnacho, Antony, Jadon Sancho and Tyrell Malacia.
Mail Sport reported on Tuesday that the club have narrowed down their striker search to Aston Villa 's Ollie Watkins and RB Leipzig's Benjamin Sesko, with Alexander Isak and Jackson ruled out because of their prohibitive prices.
A swap deal involving Jackson and Garnacho has been mooted this summer, with the latter remaining of interest to Chelsea.
According to the Independent, Chelsea have placed an £80million price tag on Jackson this summer.
The Blues, however, are said to value Garnacho significantly less in the transfer market at around £50m.
The gap in valuations would appear to represent a major hurdle in any potential swap deal between the clubs.
Since joining Chelsea in the summer of 2023, the forward has scored 30 goals in 81 matches in all competitions, including 24 in the Premier League.
Jackson remains contracted to Chelsea until 2033, but will face increased competition this season following the arrivals of Joao Pedro and Liam Delap this summer.
Man United value Garnacho at around £40m, representing a major deduction from the £70m valuation they held when an offer from Napoli was turned down in January.
Selling him would generate 100 per cent profit for the club under profit and sustainability rules.
The 21-year-old has scored 24 goals and provided 22 assists in all competitions during his 144 appearances for Man United to date.
Last week, Amorim struck a more conciliatory tone by suggesting members of his 'bomb squad' could be welcomed back into the Man United squad should the club be unable to sell them at the right price this summer.

Chelsea told they've loaned out star who can be 'better than Messi'

Chelsea have been told that they have just loaned out a player who 'has everything to be better than Lionel Messi and Neymar'. It's been a busy summer at Stamford Bridge and not just because Enzo Maresca's side won the Club World Cup. The Blues have spent over £200million on seven new players, with Jorrel Hato and Xavi Simons also on their way from Ajax and RB Leipzig. However, one of those signings hasn't stayed in west London for long, having already been loaned out to Strasbourg, the French club owned by Todd Boehly's BlueCo group. Kendry Paez's move to Chelsea had long been in the works, with the club agreeing to sign him from Independiente del Valle over two years ago when he was just 15-years-old. Having now turned 18, Paez finally completed the £17m transfer this summer but Maresca believes the attacking midfielder will develop better in Ligue 1 where he can get more game time. His loan move was confirmed on Thursday – exactly one month after he arrived at Stamford Bridge. There is much hype surrounding the teenager who already has 18 caps for Ecuador and is the second-youngest South American to play international football behind only the legendary Diego Maradona. And according to former Ecuador international Carlos Tenorio, Paez could even surpass the greatest of all-time. 'He has everything to be better than Lionel Messi, better than Neymar, but it depends on him and his entourage,' the former forward said, as quoted by L'Equipe. 'It's the first time I've seen a player with these characteristics. I think he has everything to become one of the most important players in world football.' More Trending Tenorio also added that it was important not to 'put pressure' on the youngster, easier said than done when comparisons to Messi are made. If Paez can even get close to Messi's ability, Chelsea will have some player on their hands, with the current Inter Miami star and World Cup winning captain regarded as one of, if not the best footballer of all-time. In addition, Chelsea have also loaned goalkeeper Mike Penders and defender Mamadou Sarr to Strasbourg, while midfielder Mathis Amougou has moved there in a permanent deal. And Broja, 23, would have the chance to revive a career stalled by injury and unsuccessful loan spells. The Albania international is a product of the Chelsea academy, so any transfer fee would be pure profit for the purposes of financial rules. The same applied to homegrown Blues defender Bashir Humphreys, who joined Burnley for an initial £12m earlier this summer after spending last season on loan with the Clarets. His last Premier League goal came in October 2023 against Fulham. He joined the Cottagers on loan for the second half of the 2023/24 season, but did not start a league game. Broja went to Everton on another temporary deal last season but managed only 11 first-team appearances, and no goals, in a campaign wrecked by Achilles and ankle problems.
