‘Why Delhi people show superiority mindset?' Bengaluru commuter's exchange with rider over North Indians vs Kannadigas goes viral
According to the user, the discussion began with work culture and technology but soon shifted to complaints about the city's traffic and its people.
Debate over buses and traffic
The ride giver reportedly suggested that Bengaluru should stop running buses to ease traffic jams, while comparing the city with Delhi and Mumbai. The commuter wrote that the ride giver went further to claim that people in Bengaluru were 'uncivilised' and that Delhi and Gurgaon residents were better. The post pointed out the irony, adding, 'Honestly, this entitled person seemed to forget how often minor incidents in those places turn deadly and people take direct tickets to heaven.'

The ride giver also predicted that companies would leave Bengaluru, rents would crash, and the city would return to being a 'retirement city.' He said Bengaluru and people will go bankrupt, companies will leave, people will move out, and rents will crash. Bengaluru will again become a retirement city. Nobody will be here and realise how imporatnt north indians are. Then he added that in other cities you can travel 15 km in just 20 minutes and it's very bad here and he hates this city.
Response from the commuter
Frustrated by the continuous remarks, the commuter confronted him: 'When you've already spent 10 years here, you should know everything about the traffic and in Bengaluru, this is the reality. Traffic is there on daily basis and we have to accept it or switch to a remote job which isn't that easy to get these days.'

The post concluded with the commuter refusing to engage further, while also questioning why some people from Delhi carry what he called a superiority complex. 'Haha, I didn't punch his face, and I didn't want this to become news 'a Kannadiga hit a North Indian over a language issue. And also wondering why the majority of Delhi people have this kind of superiority complex and mindset," the user wrote.
The account has since sparked a wider discussion on Reddit, with users debating the role of migrants in shaping Bengaluru's identity, as well as the balance between traffic management and public transport.

Inter-State Buses Add To Traffic Misery In City
Nagpur: Even as the debate over the role of private buses in creating traffic congestion continues, a new dimension has been added with inter-state buses now under the scanner. According to local transport operators and traffic officials, buses arriving from other states are causing more chaos on city roads as they lack designated parking spaces and halt for extended periods to pick up passengers. Sources said that a large number of buses from Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, and Gujarat enter the city daily. Unlike Nagpur-based long-distance or inter-city buses, which usually pick up passengers and leave within a short time, these outside operators tend to stay parked on busy roads for hours. "Many of these buses accomodate passengers beyond their seating capacity and wait on the streets for longer hours until they secure extra passengers. This adds to the already heavy traffic burden," said one local operator. The problem is severe on Central Avenue, one of Nagpur's busiest roads. Already congested during peak hours, the stretch regularly sees long queues of inter-state buses parked in tandem, blocking large portions of the road and leaving little space for regular commuters. Interestingly, during police action on Wednesday, the major focus was on Central Avenue where the highest number of actions were taken. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Many Malaysians don't know about this! iOS Credit Read More Undo "Hyderabad-based buses are comparatively prompt as they pick up and depart quickly. But vehicles from other states are the ones that halt for longer durations," the operator added. Apart from Central Avenue, the buses also use pick-up and drop-off points at Bole Petrol Pump, Ravi Nagar, and Chhatrapati Square. All three locations are critical junctions, and frequent halts by heavy vehicles further compound the traffic jams. Stay updated with the latest local news from your city on Times of India (TOI). Railways enhances RPF escorts for women's safety
Thiruvananthapuram: The railways increased RPF escorts on trains to enhance the safety of women passengers in the Palakkad division, anticipating a rise in travellers for upcoming holidays, including Onam. As part of this initiative, dedicated RPF teams have been deployed at five major stations within the division. These teams identify women travelling alone, sensitise them about safety precautions and provide key contact information such as the Rail Madad helpline (139) and digital grievance platforms like Instagram and CPGRAMS for immediate assistance in case of distress, a statement said. "As many as 64 women RPF personnel have been specially nominated for this mission. On an average, 11 women RPF staff attend designated trains every day and interact with around 230 solo women passengers. In 2025 alone, the initiative has benefitted 37,276 women travellers, receiving highly positive responses from the public," the statement said. Approximately 38 complaints were received from women in the division at the Rail Madad platform in 2025 and the complaints were resolved. Passenger feedback and suggestions are also collected regularly to improve the programme further. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like 11 Foods That Help In Healing Knee Pain Naturally Undo In addition to this initiative, the railways is also implementing mixed escorts in night trains, joint patrols of RPF and govt railway police at stations and publicising access to the Rail Madad app. The division manages railway stations from Shoranur to Mangalore.
