Love Island star reveals he is to be a dad for first time in sweet announcement

A star of Love Island series three is set to become a dad for the first time and has admits he 'was never a massive fan of the idea of kids' before he met his partner
A former Love Island star has confirmed he is to become a dad for the first time. Eight years after finding fame on the hit ITV dating show, Jonny Mitchell is ready to enter a new phase in his life.

The series three islander took to Instagram to share the exciting news with his followers in a sweet upload. He revealed he and partner SImone Engelhardt were to become parents, admitting it was getting tough to keep their news a secret.

He captioned his upload: "Well.. she's getting too big to keep this a secret much longer. As Bella Ramsey would say - I'm gonna be a dad."

The reality TV star added: "I don't post much personal stuff on here, but I'll make an exception for this. Anyone who knows me well, knows that I was never a massive fan of the idea of kids.
"But I think it's something that you don't really feel until you have a woman in your life who you know will be an amazing mother. Which I know @engelhardtlund will be. So it's safe to say I've warmed up to the idea."

He concluded: "Life has been an endless rollercoaster of unexpected twists and turns over the past decade, it's hard to imagine where we were even 5 years ago to where we are now.
"And it looks like the next chapter is here right on time! Baby Mitchell coming end of the year, let's hope i can figure this whole Dad thing out."
In the images, Jonny is seen beaming as he kneels down and caresses his partner's stomach as she cradles her bump. The reel of images also showed the duo enjoying trips on holiday together and enjoying date nights.

Among those sending congratulatory messages were fellow Love Island alum. Adam Collard simply wrote: "Congrats mate," alongside a clapping hands emoji.
Marcel Somerville also shared his delight and surprise, writing: "Ohhhh My Days!!!!! It's happening. Congratulations my bro!!!! So happy for you guys."

Rykard Jenkins said: "Congratulations and blessings to you both," while Geordie Shore star James Tindale also penned: 'Get in mate buzzing for you both! Congratulations."
Jonny and Simone reside in Bali after making the move in 2020. And the reality star previously said that helping dogs on the island was a "sense of duty". He said: "One of the biggest most unexpected changes I've seen in myself is my new overwhelming sense of duty towards helping dogs on this tiny little island.
"And how I feel like somehow one of my higher purposes in life is to make a difference by helping more dogs that need it. I've fallen in love with Bali since I've been living out here but it doesn't excuse some of the approaches they have in relation to animal rights and how they're treated."

All Coronation Street spoilers as major secrets are exposed

Secrets are exposed next week in Coronation Street, causing plenty of drama on the cobbles. Kevin Webster (Michael Le Vell) has been lying about his cancer, having told Abi Webster (Sally Carman) that he needed more treatment, when in reality he had got the all clear. Next week, his secret is finally exposed, as the Webster clan and all their secrets explode. Meanwhile, Theo Silverton (James Cartwright) gets an enormous shock when Todd Grimshaw (Gareth Pierce) uncovers Danielle Silverton's (Natalie Anderson) new man – and it causes chaos among the family. Elsewhere, Lisa Swain (Vicky Myers) is determined to get to the bottom of Becky's death, but will Carla Connor's (Alison King) actions help or hinder? With all that and more coming up, it is set to be a busy week on the ITV soap. As Abi berates Carl Webster (Jonathan Howard) for all the trouble he's caused, he fights the urge to tell her how Kevin has been lying about his cancer. However, when a strung-out Abi confides in Tyrone Dobbs (Alan Halsall) that she's planning to tell Jack that Kevin's cancer hasn't responded, it's Tyrone who assures her that Kevin isn't going to die. Abi confronts Kevin and he tells her how sorry he is, explaining he couldn't cope with losing her. He reveals how he thought that lying about his cancer would stop her from leaving him for Carl. Asserting that she can't bear to look at him, an emotional Abi heads out and straight into Carl's arms. Declaring that she is done with Kevin, Abi passionately kisses Carl. Elsewhere, Nick Tilsley (Ben Price) and Toyah Battersby (Georgia Taylor) are pleased to think Sam Blakeman (Jude Riordan) and Lily Platt (Grace Ashcroft-Gardner) have buried the hatchet when they both attend Eco Club. But as Sam scoffs at Lily's poster, he tells her that there have been six burglaries in the area and the burglars move the furniture about. Lily returns home to find the door ajar. When she sees the furniture has been moved, she screams in terror. James Bailey (Jason Callender) is worried as the facilitator arrives for their meeting regarding Laila's Special Guardianship Order. Will Dee-Dee Bailey (Channique Sterling-Brown) show up? Todd and Theo head off to view a flat in town, but they're thwarted when the car breaks down. When Dev Alahan (Jimmi Harkishin) reveals that Aunty Rani is coming to the wedding and she'll want to see her money being put to good use, Bernie Winter (Jane Hazlegrove) and Aadi Alahan (Adam Hussain) mask their unease. Todd grits his teeth and attends the restorative justice session with Noah. With the session over and having listened to enough of Noah's goading, Todd hurries out. Realising he forgot his jacket, Todd goes back to the community centre in time to overhear Noah on the phone to Danielle. Todd's shocked to realise they're an item. As Danielle joins Theo and the kids at the Bistro, a seething Todd reveals that Danielle has a new boyfriend and it happens to be Noah. Danielle's mortified and Theo reels. Miles rounds on Todd and tries to punch him, but Theo blocks his path and accidentally strikes Miles, sending him sprawling to the ground. Theo is horrified. Ed Bailey (Trevor Michael Georges) insists the family sit down for breakfast and clear the air. As James looks after Laila, he takes a call and confirms that he's still very much interested in the job. With his bags packed, is James leaving with or without Laila? Abi paints on a smile for Jack's sake, while Carl doubles down and tells Abi that she's doing the right thing by staying with Kevin and it's best if they keep their distance from now on. Sam opens up to Toyah about his anxiety and his recent panic attacks. Lisa admits she skipped her therapy and instead visited Becky's grave as tomorrow would have been their anniversary. Lisa is struggling with today being her and Becky's anniversary. Despite Carla and Betsy Swain (Sydney Martin) being worried about her, Lisa insists she is okay and heads off for a therapy session, where she finally opens up and admits to her therapist that she wonders if there was more to Becky's death than meets the eye and if she was in some way corrupt. Meanwhile Carla secretly visits Logan Radcliffe in prison hoping to extract information about Becky. At the police station, Lisa sneaks into DI Costello's office and searches his email for any reference to Becky Swain. Will she be caught? Later a furious Lisa tackles Kit Green (Jacob Roberts) after seeing his name on the computer asking for access to Becky's file. She tells Carla she can no longer work with Kit after he went behind her back. Will Carla reveal what she has been up to? Todd plays it down when Billy Mayhew (Daniel Brocklebank) calls round and sees bedding on the sofa. Explaining that Danielle is now with Noah, Todd explains that Theo is not allowed to see his kids. Billy advises Todd to try and persuade Dannielle. Will it work? Todd summons Danielle to the Bistro and implores Danielle to let Theo see his kids, pointing out that he's a good dad. Theo is furious to discover Todd has been letting Billy advise him on how to sort out Theo's problems. Billy calls at No.11 hoping to make amends, but Theo gives him short shrift, making out that Todd's in the shower. Todd descends the stairs, oblivious to Theo's lies. At the garage, Kevin tells Carl he's sacked as he simply can't trust him anymore. Carl agrees that a fresh start might do him good. When Abi wonders where Carl has got to, Kevin makes out that he quit his job and announced that he wants to start afresh elsewhere. Abi's secretly gutted. Debbie tries to persuade Carl to stay, but will she be able to? More Trending At No.7, Bernie and Aadi go over the wedding plans, determined to keep the cost down. Elton John plays peacemaker in Beckham family feud in showdown with Brooklyn

Sir Elton John recently hosted his godson Brooklyn Beckham and Nicola Peltz in Cannes in an attempt to urge peace in the Beckham family feud Sir Elton John has reportedly quietly stepped into the ongoing tensions between Brooklyn Beckham and his parents, David and Victoria, in an effort to ease the growing feud. ‌ The music legend, 78, who is godfather to Brooklyn, 26, recently hosted him and his wife Nicola Peltz for lunch in Cannes alongside his husband David Furnish. The gathering took place at the upscale La Guerite beach club, where the group reportedly addressed the strained family dynamics. ‌ 'Elton is the showbiz equivalent of Switzerland,' a source said in relation to Elton's peace-keeping attempts. 'He's utterly neutral in this row.' ‌ While Elton may have previously leaned into celebrity rivalries, such as his past feud with Madonna, those close to him say he's now more interested in maintaining peace. 'Elton of old may have relished in taking sides - in this case his young godson, Brooklyn, but two years off his 80th birthday, he's a man who has seen and done it all. He just wants everyone to be happy,' the insider explained. The source added: 'There is no side-taking as such, he simply adores his godson, and really has a laugh with Nicola who he thinks has a great sense of humour.' Elton's role as godfather is reportedly something he takes seriously. 'He wants to look after them in his role as 'spiritual adviser' as a godfather,' the source said. 'Elton and David think the situation is terribly sad, and has gently suggested to all involved that life is short and to patch things up," the source told The Sun. Though the subject of the feud was reportedly mentioned, it appears that it wasn't the sole focus of the lunch. The insiders claimed that the group "had a really fun long lunch" in the South of France. ‌ Elton and his husband, David, have a beautiful villa there, and Brooklyn and Nicola were reportedly engrossed in lighter conversation topics after a brief chat about his current family dynamic. While Elton reportedly stuck to sparkling water, Brooklyn enjoyed a number of beers and his wife Nicola sipped an Aperol Spritz. The couple are said to have dined on seafood, including La Guerite's signature lobster linguine, which costs £190. Elton reportedly covered the entire bill for the six-person gathering. It comes as reports suggest a growing distance and conflict between Brooklyn and his family, particularly his parents, David and Victoria, and his brothers Romeo and Cruz. ‌ Brooklyn has been noticeably absent from or has failed to publicly acknowledge key Beckham family celebrations, including David's 50th birthday, Father's Day, and several other important events. The eldest Beckham son and his younger brothers Romeo, 22, and Cruz, recently unfollowed each other on Instagram as the family tensions appeared to reach boiling point earlier this month.

Dame Laura Kenny opens up about post-pregnancy body image fears at Wimbledon

Laura Kenny gave birth to her third child and first daughter, Lily, in early May and has since returned to work and public events, including an appearance at the Wimbledon this month Dame Laura Kenny has spoken out on the highs and lows of post-pregnancy body image after a difficult first public appearance at Wimbledon. ‌ The 33-year-old gave birth to her third child and first daughter, Lily, in early May and has since returned to work and public events, including an appearance alongside husband Jason at the Wimbledon Championships earlier this month. ‌ Kenny admitted that it wasn't all sunshine and roses in the lead-up to the event, struggling to find a dress that she felt comfortable in so soon after giving birth, which would also allow her to feed her daughter during the day. ‌ Posting to her 221k followers on Instagram, the five-time Olympic champion opened up about the mental and emotional toll being a mother to a newborn can have on you and was overwhelmed to see such an incredible response from others in a similar position. "I find it hugely important to post about this stuff, especially from a women's point of view," she said. "We actually looked at the digital response and there were 1.5 million views and 86% were female on that post alone. "That's why it's so important, and that's why I posted it, because I want every other mum that's sitting at home to know how I was feeling. "You see a nice happy photo of us at Wimbledon, but that wasn't the backstory. The backstory was me actually quite upset, trying to find an outfit because I felt like I didn't look like me, and I'm having to put myself in the limelight, and find a dress that will let me feed my child. "Yes, going to Wimbledon is a choice, but it is also something that I wanted to do, and I shouldn't have to give that up." ‌ Kenny retired from her career in the velodrome in March 2024 and has since stepped into a new role as President of Commonwealth Games England. It is a role she took on at seven months pregnant and one that she has taken in stride, having already attended her first board meeting less than 12 weeks after giving birth. And even though Lily might admittedly be the easiest of her three children when it comes to sleeping, Kenny knows that returning to work so quickly is hardly the norm for most mothers. ‌ She also noted that it is something she enjoys, having always embraced chaos in the workplace. "Some people think it's a bit mental coming back so soon," she said. "I mean, I filmed a podcast when she was just two days old, and it didn't even occur to me that it was kind of mental. Our line of work is a bit random, and it is a bit all over the place, and so it's always been like that. "I trained with Albie, and he just travelled the world with us so for me, I've actually never known any different and so I'm just enjoying it again. ‌ "I'm not going to say it's not difficult, but I like the mayhem and absolute carnage." Kenny's new role is quickly heating up, with today marking one year to go until the Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games. ‌ It is a milestone that the former track cyclist knows well from her time as an athlete, believing that it was a key moment for athletes to nail down their targets. "From an athlete's point of view, you can think that the Games are coming around really fast, and it can almost seem a little bit scary," she said. "But I think it feels scary, and it feels daunting because it means so much to you. I think it brings a whole host of emotion. ‌ "I always felt like a year to go was really achievable. I could set a target by that point." But from her new stead as President, Kenny admitted that she is relishing the new behind-the-scenes aspect that she has access to. From board meetings about accommodation to talking through athlete selection processes, Kenny has a whole new world of insight into what happens to make a Commonwealth Games come to life. And with the clock ticking down until the opening day of competition on 23 July 2026 in Glasgow, she is more than ready to get stuck in. "I'm so excited," she said. "The reason I took the role in the first place was because I felt like I wanted to give back to the athletes and because Team England have played a huge part in my career. "So, the bit that I'm obviously most excited about is actually talking to the athletes and getting involved and that will only ramp up from now."
