Texas point guard Rori Harmon to return next season in bid to get Longhorns back to the Final Four
Harmon has a medical redshirt season to use after a knee injury knocked her out of the 2023-24 season after just 12 games. Texas advanced to the Elite Eight that season. Texas made the Final Four this season for the first time since 2003.
Harmon announced her decision in a post on the team's social media accounts.
'Let's finish what we started. Hook'em,' said Harmon, who averaged 9.3 points and 5.9 assists last season. She also was considered the team's top defender.
Texas lost to Southeastern Conference rival South Carolina in a national semifinal.
Harmon's return means the Longhorns will have three full-time starters back for next season, and will again pair her with All-American Madison Booker in the Texas backcourt.
The Longhorns rose to their first No. 1 ranking 2004 this past season and made it to the Final Four for the first time since 2003. Texas won a share of the SEC title in its first season in the league.
Harmon is a graduate student and is pursing a master's degree.

Despite the Pittsburgh Steelers falling short to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in their second preseason matchup of 2025, HC Mike Tomlin was impressed with the Steel City rookies — specifically the team's top two selections from last April's draft. Following the Steelers' 14-17 preseason loss, Tomlin revealed to reporters which rookies impressed him the most: first-round DE Derrick Harmon and third-round RB Kaleb Johnson. Hornets preseason schedule include two against NBA champions, Duke rookie showdown
CHARLOTTE, N.C. (CAROLINA SPORTS LIVE) — The Charlotte Hornets will be away from the Queen City and play the reigning NBA champions twice in the preseason this year. The team announced their five-game schedule Tuesday ahead of 2025-26 season, with its two 'home' games being played in Greensboro and North Charleston, South Carolina, due to renovations at the Spectrum Center. Hornets going on the road in the Carolinas for preseason 'home' games Coming off a Summer League championship, the Hornets will tip off the preseason by hosting MVP Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and the Oklahoma City Thunder at the North Charleston Coliseum on Oct. 5. They then travel to OKC on Oct. 9 to complete the elongated back-to-back. Charlotte heads south to play Dallas, where on Oct. 11 Hornets rookie Kon Knueppel will face off against former Duke teammate and this year's No. 1 overall pick Cooper Flagg.
