Yahoo30-01-2025

Netflix is expanding its dating show portfolio with 'Temptation Island.' The reality series, which originally debuted in 2001, will be coming to the streaming platform with a new season on March 12.
The series follows four unmarried couples who are at a crossroads and have decided to put their relationship to the ultimate test by living in separate villas; the men will live in one with a group of single women while the women will live in a house of single men. In past seasons, though they can't communicate with their partners, they are shown select footage of what their significant other is doing while apart, causing quite a bit of drama.

Mark L. Walberg has been the host of the series from its start. Produced by Banijay Studios North America, David Goldberg and David Friedman serve as executive producers.
'Temptation Island' originally debuted on Fox, where it aired for three seasons from 2001 to 2003; although the premise was controversial, seemingly convincing those in a relationship to cheat on their significant others, it received high ratings.
In 2019, USA Network revived the series and it aired for five more seasons between 2019 and 2023. The new version — the first time the format will be streaming — will be the ninth season.
'Temptation Island' joins the many unscripted dating shows at Netflix, including 'Love Is Blind,' 'Too Hot to Handle,' 'The Ultimatum' and 'Perfect Match.'

Kate ‘in Disgust' of Harry Amid Reports Their Relationship Has ‘Dramatically Deteriorated' Under the ‘Influence' of Meghan

It's hard to keep track of all the feuds in the British Royal family at this point. King Charles is feuding with Prince Harry. So is Prince William. And it seems Prince William is also feuding with Prince Andrew. Everyone seems to be taking sides. And recently, there were reports that Kate Middleton was trying to fix her husband's relationship with her brother, Prince Harry, with whom she's always been close. Reportedly, that's not true anymore, if it ever was. Instead, it seems like she's just supporting her husband and his decisions regarding his brother. An unnamed source told Us Weekly that the Prince and Princess of Wales 'just don't understand why Harry doesn't stay quiet.' But there's more. According to Kinsey Schofield, host of the 'To Di For Daily' podcast, William is also upset about how Kate has been treated. More from StyleCaster Princess Alexandra Subtly Took a Side in Charles & Harry's Feud Amid Reports There's 'No Turning Back' in Their Relationship Prince Edward Could Predict 'Desperately Lonely' Harry's Future Amid Reports Charles' Funeral May Be the Last Time He Ever Sees His Family Again Related: Did William really cheat on Kate? 'Catherine has been nothing but supportive of her husband – and that's exactly why Prince William is so deeply hurt,' Schofield explained. 'His pain doesn't come from personal insults or headlines. It comes from his instinct to protect the woman he loves… But what cuts the deepest is Harry's treatment of Catherine. She's always loved him, always treated him like a little brother. That's the betrayal William won't forget… But Harry never seems to think about the consequences.' British broadcaster and photographer Helena Chard told Fox New Digital that Middleton had been 'saddened' by the rift between the brothers. But she won't intervene. 'Catherine and Harry shared a fun humor and were often seen giggling together at events,' Chard explained. 'Sadly and upsettingly, Princess Catherine was dragged into the public negative narrative which was a real smack round the face for the kind sister-in-law who tried hard to be the peacemaker between the brothers.' Recent reports had indicated that, even though Middleton was upset at Harry's recent interview, she was trying to mediate between the brothers. 'Kate's deeply upset with Harry, but she's also frustrated that William and the rest of the family have allowed things to deteriorate this badly,' the insider said, adding that, 'It's heartbreaking for her to watch the family so publicly divided.' also reported that 'William is furious that Harry's speaking out again and doing interviews – he's convinced this isn't the end of it.' And Prince William has, therefore, given instructions to the rest of the family not to communicate with Harry. 'He's made it clear to the rest of the family that they should keep their distance from the Sussexes, because anything shared could be turned against them,' the report also said. According to Royal expert Hilary Fordwich, all of this only adds to the strained relationship between Middleton and Prince Harry, who used to be close. 'Princess Catherine and Prince Harry's relationship has dramatically deteriorated over recent years,' Fordwich claimed. 'There is a huge sense of betrayal and broader frustration, as well as a massive cultural clash. How Harry has changed under the influence of Meghan Markle has been baffling both to the royal family and beyond.' 'Catherine, in particular, is deeply wounded by Harry's media disclosures airing family grievances and betraying any family loyalty while dismissing royal values. Catherine was once the peacemaker between the feuding brothers. She often encouraged William to reconcile,' she also said, adding, 'However, after years of futile efforts, she has now thrown her hands up in disgust, stepping back from any role of attempting to mediate a reconciliation since the rift between the brothers kept widening.' The drama continues, and it doesn't seem like it'll get better anytime soon. 'Harry Potter' star Tom Felton's pathetic take on JK Rowling's transphobia is peak cis privilege

Tom Felton, who rose to fame playing Draco Malfoy in the Harry Potter films, says he JK Rowling's openly transphobic views don't impact him. Must be nice. While attending the Tony Awards — possibly the gayest event of the year — ahead of reprising his role in Harry Potter and the Cursed Child on Broadway, Felton was asked questions on the red carpet that led to him admitting he wasn't 'attuned' to the controversy surrounding the Harry Potter author. When asked directly by Variety on Sunday about whether he was impacted by Rowling's controversial viewpoint on trans rights, the 37-year-old star answered, 'No, I can't say it does. I'm not really that attuned to it.' How very Draco of him. — (@) Instead of being critical of Rowling's vocal anti-trans stance or the money she's funneling into the UK's war on trans people (money that has come directly from the success of Harry Potter), Felton expressed gratitude for how being a part of the franchise has changed his life. 'The only thing I always remind myself is that I have been lucky enough to travel the world. Here I am in New York, and I have not seen anything bring the world together more than Potter,' he said. 'She's responsible for that, so I'm incredibly grateful.' While Felton isn't alone in his unwillingness to criticize Rowling — Helena Bonham Carter, John Cleese, and Ralph Fiennes have defended her — there are plenty of Harry Potter stars willing to call out the author for being a very vocal TERF (trans-exclusionary radical feminist). — (@) Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson, Rupert Grint, and David Tennant have all spoken out publicly against Rowling, and earlier this year eight more stars, including Fantastic Beasts star Eddie Redmayne, Katie Leung, Paapa Essiedu (who will play Snape in the upcoming Harry Potter TV series) signed a open letter expressing their solidarity with the trans community after the UK Supreme Court's April 17 ruling that defined women based on biological sex, excluding trans women, which Rowling supported. Felton may say that he isn't 'attuned' to the controversy or Rowling's transphobic statements, but back in 2022, he told The Independent that he didn't 'know enough about the specifics of what anyone said. My dog takes up far too much time for me to go into such matters.' And went on to say that he and his friends 'don't take any pleasure in putting crosshairs on people that may have said things that we disagree with.' The internet did not mince words and was quick to call out Felton for not standing up for the trans community, and for continuing to benefit from his continued association with Rowling. People pointed out his obvious 'privilege' while someone else called him 'spineless,' while other people dunked on Felton for being the child actor equivalent of a jock who can't let go of his high school football career. Keep scrolling to see more reactions. — (@) "this is what privilege looks like, and we shouldn't ignore how much harm looking the other way because things don't affect us directly does. don't be Tom Felton" — (@) "Fuck Tom Felton for his spinelessness, but also fuck that journalist for calling JK Rowling's transphobia a 'Twitterverse controversy.' What a disgusting way to refer to the violent hatred that she's spewing towards the trans community, who she wants to eliminate from this earth." — (@) "Imagine your career highlight being the role you played when you were 12. Congrats Tom Felton you made it into the list of top 10 bums of all time" — (@) "Are we really surprised at Tom Felton's comments, though? Look at that man. He looks exactly like someone who would live his best white life, and not give a damn about anything happening outside of his experience. Come on now." — (@) "love how every actor distanced themselves from jkr for being a disgusting terf… and then there's unemployed tom felton" — (@) "he's such a fucking loser fuck tom felton, fuck jkr and fuck transphobes" — (@) "Lmao TERFs predictably saying Tom Felton is good for 'not biting the hand that feeds him' yeah bcos she's the only hand that fucking feeds him, he can't get any other jobs and is clinging to relevancy via Draco Malfoy" — (@) "Has the ever been a figure as loathsome and detestable as Tom Felton? And ageing, former child "star" who, unlike his co-stars has developed zero talents or interests, has tried his hand at everything and now relies on tactical blindness to bigotry to live off of JKRs scraps." — (@) "literally every harry potter actor from the original series has moved on with their lives and starred in new things yet tom felton is reprising his role as draco malfoy and is putting more money into jkr's pockets" — (@) "fuck tom felton and jk rowling. live laugh love daniel radcliffe"

The two-day (June 17-18) Canva Creative Cabana will serve as the venue for Variety in the C-Suite Presented by Canva, a series of intimate conversations with marketing leaders from brands and industry leaders, including Mark Weinstein, chief marketing officer, Hilton; Karen Kovacs, president, advertising and partnerships, NBCUniversal; Lisa McKnight, EVP and chief brand officer, Mattel; Raja Rajamannar, CMO, Mastercard; Domenic DiMeglio, chief marketing officer and head of data, Paramount+; Patricia Corsi, chief growth officer, Kimberly-Clark; Zach Kitschke, chief marketing officer, Canva; Rita Ferro, President Global Advertising, Disney; Marisa Thalberg, CMO, Catalyst Brands; and founder and CEO, Several of those luminaries will attend the Variety Canva Supper on the Croisette, an exclusive networking dinner on June 16, hosted by Variety co-editors-in-chief Cynthia Littleton and Ramin Setoodeh and Kitschke. 'We've designed this beautiful and inclusive space where brand builders, creative thinkers and leaders can come together to connect over big ideas from the future of AI to building brand love at scale,' says Segrist. On June 17, attendees can unwind and absorb insights at the Variety Sports Culture Happy Hour, presented by Uber Advertising. Panelists will include Olympic champion gymnast Jordan Chiles, NBA chief marketing officer Tammy Henault, American Express exec VP of global brand advertising Jess Ling and Georgie Jeffreys, head of marketing for Uber, U.S. and Canada. The conversation will explore how on-screen authenticity translates to real-world value, and how brands can harness reality programming's loyal fandom. The Variety TV Innovation Brunch, presented by GoogleTV, is set for June 18. It will kick off with a keynote conversation with WNBA champion and TV host Candace Parker, which will be followed by an executive roundtable exploring how marketers are advancing the TV experience for audiences and their partners, featuring Shalina Govil-Pai, VP and GM, Google TV; Ryan Gould, co-president, advertising, Warner Bros Discovery; and Nicole Parlapiano, CMO, Tubi. The invitation-only taping, hosted on the Room's yacht, will focus on how crucial mastering the latest marketing data trends and technologies is to elevating audience fandom for sports, media and entertainment experiences. Segrist says she's looking forward to spotlighting what's possible for marketers with the latest tools, as well as sprinkling in a few 'surprise-and-delight moments' along the way. 'The people. The energy. The ideas. There's something incredibly electric about being surrounded by creative minds and leaders from around the world who have a shared passion for discovering and shaping what's next,' says Segrist.
