'The Kelly Clarkson Show' Marks 1,000 Episodes by Celebrating with Tyler Perry, Candy, Alcohol and More

Yahoo20-03-2025

Because of you, Kelly Clarkson, there are 1,000 more episodes of daytime TV to celebrate!
On Thursday, March 20, the multi-talented Grammy winner marked a new milestone: the 1,000th episode of her NBC talk show The Kelly Clarkson Show.
Clarkson, who had been noticeably absent from her hosting duties the week prior, made a grand return just in time for the big day, kicking off the episode with a performance of none other than Whitney Houston's "I Have Nothing" alongside bandmates Jason Halbert and Jaco Caraco.

The special guests for the 1,000 episode included Tyler Perry — whom Clarkson interviewed while hopped up on caffeine, she said — and Alicia Vikander, who brought soft licorice, a special Swedish candy, for Clarkson to try in honor of the special show.
"I'm so glad you're here to help me!" Perry quipped as Vikander arrived to talk about her "psychotic" new movie The Assessment.
Perry, meanwhile, shared the inspiration behind his new Prime Video thriller Duplicity with Clarkson and even teased Sister Act 3, much to the excitement of Clarkson's live studio audience (where PEOPLE was present for the special show!)

Clarkson's musical guest for the day was Venezuelan duo Mau y Ricky, who performed their latest single "Noche de Luna" and discussed growing up in a musical family (their father is famous Venezuelan artist Ricardo Montaner).
They also came bearing gifts in honor of the show's 1,000th episode: special Venezuelan rum, which the trio used to toast the big accomplishment.
By the end of the episode, a thoroughly delighted Clarkson was surprised by her producers with a montage of her two children, River, 10, and Remy, 8, as part of the show's "What I'm Liking' segment.
Insisting that she'd manage to hold it together and ward off any tears, Clarkson — ever the proud mom — all but wiped her eyes just once.

Jodie Sweetin Says the 'Full House' Group Chat Recently Included 'This' ‘Horrifying' Text from Dave Coulier (Exclusive)

Jodie Sweetin exclusively told PEOPLE that the Full House and Fuller House cast are in a very active group chat In the group chat, Dave Coulier recently shared an AI-generated image of his former costars as 'goths' "There was a Kourtney Kardashian lookalike in there who was supposed to be Becky [Katsopolis],' Sweetin saidJodie Sweetin never wants to leave her star-studded group chat. The Full House alum, who played Stephanie Tanner, exclusively told PEOPLE that the cast of the show and its reboot Fuller House are in a group chat. Before a live taping of her Full House rewatch podcast — How Rude, Tanneritos! — on June 5, Sweetin explained that Dave Coulier knows how to liven up the chatter, especially with his most recent AI-infused message. 'It was horrifying,' says the actress and podcaster, 43. Coulier, who played Joey Gladstone, had shared an AI-generated photo of the cast as 'goths.' 'Like, aged down goths. And for some reason, there was a Kourtney Kardashian lookalike in there who was supposed to be Becky [Katsopolis],' she adds of the character played by Lori Loughlin. 'But me and the Olsen twins were the same age, except for Mary-Kate, who actually looked like she does today.' is now available in the Apple App Store! Bob Saget, the beloved late actor who played fun-loving patriarch Danny Tanner, was depicted as Geddy Lee, the lead singer of Rush. 'It was just a very, very strange thing. Dave made a joke. I didn't get it,' Sweetin continues, before saying she eventually understood. 'I was like, 'Oh, sorry actually, the joke was great.' ' Sweetin's sneak peek into the group chat came as she and former Full House costar Andrea Barber, 48, were hosting their live episode on Thursday, reuniting with John Stamos, 61, and Loughlin, 60, as part of their rewatch. The latter pair took a look back on the love story between their characters — Uncle Jesse and Becky Donaldson Katsopolis — and their season 4 wedding. The How Rude, Tanneritos! podcast, which premiered in July as commentary on the beloved ABC series, also allows the two hosts to reminisce. 'Oh my gosh, we have been screaming, literally, I walked out screaming and saying, 'Jodie,' ' says Barber, who played Kimmy Gibbler. 'I walked into her dressing room, and she was jumping up and down. And, you know, we do the podcast. When we do it, normally, we're each at our houses, and we do it over Zoom.' Barber said the live events are something she usually feels "really nervous and apprehensive" about, but she didn't experience either of those feelings when chatting with Stamos and Loughlin because she was "just stoked to be here." Carlos Alcaraz's Family Includes a Former Tennis Pro Dad

Professional tennis player Carlos Alcaraz comes from an athletic family that includes a former tennis pro dad. A 2023 Vogue profile story on Alcaraz, 22, sketched out his family background. The Spanish tennis phenom is playing in the French Open final on June 8 against Italian Jannik Sinner. Advertisement According to People, Alcaraz's family includes his father Carlos Alcaraz González and mother Virginia Garfia Escandon, and his three brothers, Álvaro, Sergio and Jaime. Alcaraz was raised "in a village outside Murcia called El Palmar," Spain, which he still visits on weekends, according to Vogue. "Some 40 years ago, his great-uncle built a tennis club there, on what was a clay-pigeon shooting range," according to Vogue, which said Alcaraz's dad played professional tennis "until he couldn't afford to continue." Alcaraz told Vogue he was born "with tennis in my blood," and his dad "became the director" of the family tennis club. Alcaraz also has an older brother named Alvaro, who "played in tournaments before him" and two younger brothers who are "passionate about tennis." Advertisement According to that article, Alcaraz's mom "worked as a shop assistant at IKEA." Alcaraz "got his first racket at the age of four," and his father told Vogue he would cry as a kid when he had to stop playing tennis in order to have dinner. 'In my family, I think we have the sport in our blood,' Alcaraz told The New York Times. 'We all played from the time we were young.' He told "You have to be surrounded by great people. I'm a lucky guy to have such a great team. I'm going to say the best team in the tour right now,' Alcaraz says. 'But also my family, my friends are nice persons. For me, it's really, really important. As I said, doing great in tennis because of the people that I have around.' 'Real Housewives of Atlanta' star Brit Eady sues Bravo over explicit photo

'Real Housewives of Atlanta' star Brit Eady sues Bravo over explicit photo Show Caption Hide Caption Phaedra Parks returning to Real Housewives of Atlanta Phaedra Parks is returning to Real Housewives of Atlanta after being gone for 6 seasons. Fox - 5 Atlanta Brit Eady is taking Bravo to court over the explicit photo incident that prompted Kenya Moore's exit from "The Real Housewives of Atlanta." Eady has filed a $20 million lawsuit against Bravo, NBC and the production companies Truly Original and Endemol Shine North America, accusing the defendants of defamation, intentional infliction of emotional distress, false light, sexual harassment and hostile work environment. USA TODAY has reached out to representatives for Bravo, NBCUniversal and Eady for comment. The lawsuit centers around an incident featured in an April episode of the reality show in which Moore revealed explicit photos, supposedly of Eady, on poster boards. The moment resulted in Moore being removed from the show, and the episode ended with a disclaimer that "based on Kenya's behavior, the decision was made to cease filming with her this season." 'Real Housewives of Atlanta': Reality show airs Kenya Moore's explicit photo incident that led to exit Eady says that the photos were not of her but that the episode falsely suggested they were. "The manner in which the episode was aired falsely yet unmistakably implied that the graphic sexual photograph presented by the cast member depicted (Eady)," the lawsuit said. "On information and belief, defendants knew that the photograph did not depict (Eady), or, at the least, were reckless or grossly negligent in failing to learn that the photograph did not depict (Eady). The lawsuit also alleged that the network refused to show Eady the photo before the episode aired. She accused the defendants of contributing to a "hostile work environment" and subjecting her to "unwelcome, offensive, and sexualized behavior and comments based on her gender by requiring her to continue working in an environment in which she had been subject to a gendered attack, creating an inferior condition or privilege of employment because of her gender." The suit calls for the episode to be removed from public platforms. Kenya Moore suspended indefinitely: She's off 'Real Housewives' amid 'revenge porn' allegations The same day that Eady's lawsuit was filed, Moore confirmed on X that she would not be taking part in a "Real Housewives of Atlanta" reunion taping happening on June 5. "Please know I take full accountability for my actions and deeply apologize to all those affected including Brittney, the cast, crew, guests and viewers," she said. "I look forward to seeing you all back on Bravo soon." Contributing: Taijuan Moorman
