Basking in the success of her recently released single, Outside, Cardi B took to her Instagram stories to post an apology video.
In the video, Cardi B is seen lying on her bed as she says, "I'm going to publicly apologize to Atlantic because I was being very bratty, very mean, very nasty…Cause I really didn't want to drop the song.'
The Grammy winner added, 'But they was like 'No b*tch, you're gonna drop this f*cking song.' I was giving so much pushback, but we dropped it ... And it's going amazing."
However, the way Cardi B apologised to her music label, Atlantic Records, has not gone down well with her fans.
A fan took to X and wrote, 'the industry really be making celebrities humiliate themselves smh', while another fan commented, 'Ngl it's kinda weird how she got the rapper title but don't want to do shit ever.'
A third fan posted, 'The public apology is fine and all, but you could've been even more of a woman and handwritten an apology to your label and team for the embarrassment. Man…get her off social media please.'
Another user wrote, 'Accountability, a lot of female rappers can't relate', while a fifth fan noted, 'When you realize it's not the labels but the artists self sabotaging suddenly everything starts to make sense'.
Another fan commented, 'The emphasis on chart positions and streaming numbers seems to be the driving force behind her refusal to release new music. You can tell she's very insecure about flopping and her heart just isn't in it.'
