Allegiant offers $42 rates for two new nonstop flights from Ford Airport
On Thursday, Allegiant Air will start flying direct from Gerard R. Ford International Airport to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, it said in a release. On Friday, it will start flying direct from Grand Rapids to Jacksonville, Florida.
The flights will operate twice a week. Starting out, the airline is offering one-way fares for as low as $42. To get those prices, travelers must buy tickets to Myrtle Beach International Airport by Saturday, and the flight must be before Aug. 17; travelers must buy tickets to the Jacksonville International Airport by Sunday, and the flight must be before Aug. 18.

'Whether passengers are looking for a family vacation, a golf adventure, or a quick getaway, we are grateful to Allegiant for bringing these two nonstop routes to West Michigan.'
Ford Airport has been touting its direct flight options as it works to add more. It currently has direct flights to almost 40 destinations, including both seasonal and year-round flights. Allegiant is the first to offer nonstop flights to Myrtle Beach and Jacksonville, according to the .

The airport has also been working to add a federal inspection station, which will make way for international direct flights, like a potential nonstop flight to Cancun.
The project comes as the airport, which saw a record-breaking 4.17 million passengers in 2024, is in the midst of a major $600 million project called Elevate. Crews are building a consolidated car rental facility and working on the terminal enhancement project, which will relocate ticket counters. The air traffic control tower is set to be relocated and a new parking garage is set to be built.
In 2023, the airport opened a newly expanded Concourse A. Other recent additions include an indoor animal relief area and a sensory room, along with several food and beverage options.

3 new flights take off from Memphis airport in September: Here is where they'll take you
A new month will bring new flights to Memphis International Airport. New routes to Knoxville, New York City and Pensacola, Florida, will launch in September at the airport. The three new flights are expected to bring a boost in passenger numbers to the airport, which has seen a bit of a slowdown, according to Glen Thomas, communications director for the Memphis-Shelby County Airport Authority. 'Thus far in August, our TSA checkpoint numbers reflect a slight decrease of about 2.5% compared to the same period in 2024,' Thomas said. 'These numbers are reflective of a softening in recent demand across the industry and across all major airlines. Nonetheless, we continue to meet with airlines in our continual effort to secure additional air service and maintain existing service.' So far in 2025, Memphis International Airport has announced plans for 10 new flights. Here is a closer look at the new routes coming to the airport in September. Allegiant Air's Memphis-to-Knoxville flight Memphis residents traveling to Knoxville soon will have a new way to get there. Allegiant adds a new beach route to the Des Moines Airport
Allegiant Air has announced new travel routes across the country, and the Des Moines International Airport made the list. The new routes launch this fall, Allegiant said in a news release, and to celebrate, it is offering one-way fares — for new routes only — for as low as $49. Here's what we know about the new destination reachable via the Des Moines Airport. What new route did Allegiant add at the Des Moines International Airport? Beginning Nov. 21, Iowans can travel nonstop from Des Moines to Fort Myers, Florida, on Allegiant Air. 'This expansion reflects our commitment to connecting underserved communities with affordable, convenient travel options,' said Drew Wells, Allegiant's chief commercial officer. 'By adding Fort Myers, we're providing Des Moines travelers new nonstop access to a popular beach destination,meaning they spend less time at the airport and more time on vacation.' This flight marks a record-breaking 35th nonstop route out of Des Moines. It is also the sixth new route announced in 2025. Is the Des Moines International Airport getting other new routes this fall? The newest nonstop additions will join two others that are also coming to the Des Moines Airport this fall: Los Angeles on American Airlines: This new route begins in October and will operate year-round.
