Hollyoaks' Jessica Fox unrecognisable as she celebrates 20 years on soap
This week Jessica Fox has celebrated the impressive milestone of two decades since she first stepped onto the Hollyoaks set as Nancy Osborne.
The 42-year-old actress, who joined the Channel 4 soap back in 2005, was originally introduced as a rebellious teenager. But over the past 20 years, Nancy has evolved into a complex woman who has weathered countless storms in Chester and appeared in more than 1,600 episodes.
Jessica took to Instagram to honour the anniversary with a heartfelt post and a selection of throwback photos that gave fans a glimpse at Nancy's dramatic evolution over the years.
She wrote: "Happy 20th anniversary to me! Three episodes that turned into twenty years. If I was to write down all the things Nancy has gone through… 4 weddings, 3 divorces, drug, domestic and sexual abuse, addictions, and even brain damage.
"Explosions, fights, fires, being buried in more than one bunker and dragging a body through the forest. More tears and loss than anyone should have to deal with and she still has a wicked sense of humour.
"I love this woman, I'm so proud of her part in the village and in Hollyoaks's history. On a personal level it's the greatest rollercoaster. Hollyoaks changed the course of my life and I am forever grateful. Looking at that first cast card, I feel so many things. Twenty bloody years, oh baby girl, how lovely you were. I wish you'd been able to see it."
The post quickly racked up supportive comments from fans who have followed Jessica's journey since the very beginning. One wrote: "Have watched you from day one. Have loved how strong and independent your character has become, a true survivor."
Another added: "I remember Nancy back then! Becca Hayton's little sister! Does anyone remember her with Foz?" A third shared: "I love Nancy, she's always been one of my favourite characters. Happy 20th Anniversary."
And a fourth praised her for the way she has portrayed real life issues, saying: "Absolute icon. Happy 20 years — thank you for showcasing MS amazingly."
Outside of the world of Hollyoaks, Jessica has opened up about her personal struggles with her body image. She reflected on how her perspective shifted after the birth of her first child who she had with husband Nicholas Willes in March 2023.
In a candid post, she wrote: "It's not a perfect body but it's mine. It grew a little human and I was lucky to be able to breastfeed." She admitted that the time she used to spend hating her body would "add up to weeks rather than hours", but now she focuses on what her body has achieved instead.
Jessica and Nicholas quietly tied the knot in 2020. She revealed her pregnancy in October 2022 with a sweet Instagram post where she shared a photo of her baby scan.

The star had a very difficult first birth and while pregnant with her second child she insisted she would not have any more. She said at the time: 'I would not go to three,' she said. Marnie previously described her first labour, which lasted 28 hours, as traumatic and insisted on having a c-section the second time round.

It has been reported by The Sun that the "non-recent" claim was reported on June 14. A spokesperson for Channel 4 told the Mirror that they are aware that a report has been made to police about an alleged sexual assault during filming. They added: "We take any issues on the show incredibly seriously. Producers follow strict welfare protocols as the wellbeing of the cast is always the first priority. Support would be offered to anyone who wished to report a matter to the authorities, and naturally we would cooperate with any enquiries or investigations.' A source told The Sun that the alleged assault "is a disastrous look for bosses" as the show has been criticised before. According to the publication, police said: "We received a report of a non-recent sexual assault on June 14. Enquiries remain ongoing," with a show spokesman telling them they're "aware" of the report and adding they offer support to "anyone who wished to report a matter". Filming for the UK version began in February. The series usually airs in the autumn. Experts for the series include Mel Schilling, Charlene Douglas and Paul C Brunson.
