Khushi Kapoor Accepts Undergoing Cosmetic Surgery: ‘Why Lie? I Wasn't Born Looking Like This'

News1818-07-2025
Khushi Kapoor admits to going under the knife and urges honesty about cosmetic procedures: 'I wasn't born like this, but I've always been honest about it.'
The conversation around cosmetic treatments in the entertainment industry has always sparked debate—especially when it comes to transparency. While many celebrities either evade the topic or face criticism for admitting to it, Nadaaniyan actress Khushi Kapoor is bringing a fresh, honest perspective that has caught attention.
In a recent interview with The Times of India, Khushi was asked about her views on artificial enhancements. Candid and composed, she admitted to having undergone cosmetic procedures and emphasized that it's a personal decision, 'I've always tried to be honest and open about whatever I'm getting done," she said. 'If someone wishes to get work done, it is their choice, and they should do what suits them."
Khushi further explained that, in her view, celebrities should acknowledge the impact they have on their followers—especially younger audiences who may internalize unrealistic beauty standards, 'Getting work done and lying about it is unfair to younger girls who look up to you, because then they think, 'Oh, I don't look like that; why can't I?'"
She admitted that being a public figure comes with inevitable judgment—regardless of what choices are made, 'People who question my decisions would have judged me either way,"
Khushi said, 'There is no real way to win in these kinds of discussions, so to have peace of mind, one should own up to their decision and worry less about what people will say."
Khushi has addressed the topic before. In a previous interview with CurlyTales, she echoed similar thoughts, 'I don't think it's such a big deal. The main issue is that people are scared that they will get hate if they come out and admit it," she remarked. 'People think that the term 'plastic' is the biggest insult you can give someone, but I don't think it's bad if someone gets work done and stuff like that."
Her comments come at a time when the conversation around cosmetic treatments and anti-ageing medications has become particularly sensitive. The recent death of actress Shefali Jariwala, who reportedly used such supplements and therapies, has reignited concerns about the risks associated with these practices. Police are currently investigating if the treatments contributed to her untimely passing.

'Mujhe Daant Padi': Amitabh Bachchan Scolded Rajiv Rai For Making Kajol The Killer In Gupt

Director Rajiv Rai recalls Amitabh Bachchan scolding him for making Kajol the killer in Gupt. Director Rajiv Rai's 1997 thriller Gupt left a generation stunned with its shocking twist — Kajol, the film's beloved heroine, was revealed to be the murderer. The bold move to cast a female lead as the villain was considered groundbreaking in Hindi cinema at the time. But not everyone was on board with this twist — including none other than Amitabh Bachchan, who personally questioned Rai's decision ahead of the film's release. In a recent interview on the Ravi Buleiy Official YouTube channel, Rajiv Rai shared a fascinating anecdote about a trial screening of Gupt held in Chennai. Amitabh Bachchan had attended the show and called Rai the very next day. 'He said, 'Rajiv, are you convinced with what you have done in this film? You have made Kajol the killer, are you sure? How can you be so sure?' So in one way, as a senior, he scolded me," Rai said. 'Mere ko daant padi. He is a senior, he can obviously scold me." Rajiv went on to explain that despite Bachchan's doubts, he stood firm in his creative vision, 'He questioned me, 'How are you so confident that this will work?' I told him, 'Sir, I don't have an answer for your questions. It is Wednesday already, please wait for 2 days, you will get your answer.'" As history would have it, Gupt opened to critical and commercial success, and Kajol's performance earned her the Filmfare Award for Best Villain, becoming the first actress to win in that category. Rajiv Rai also recalled his early professional ties to Amitabh Bachchan, having worked as an assistant director on classic films like Trishul and Kaala Patthar, both of which starred the megastar. He revealed that during a challenging phase in Bachchan's career — between 1992 and 1994 — he developed a script with Anees Bazmee specifically for the legendary actor. Despite Rai's high hopes, Bachchan declined the project, 'He said that the phase that I am going through right now, I don't want to do any films. He was not going through a good phase then," Rai said. 'He was confused, and in that confusion, he said no. He is not a confused man but his circumstances were such." The rejection left Rai heartbroken, 'I was like, 'I worked so hard, I was angry with my destiny, not with Amitabh Bachchan. I thought if destiny does not want me to work with Amit ji, I will work with someone new, so I made Mohra with Suniel Shetty." That decision turned out to be career-defining. Mohra, released in 1994, was a major hit, and along with Gupt, cemented Rai's legacy as one of the most daring and successful directors of 1990s Bollywood. Kelly Osbourne Mourns Dad Ozzy Osbourne's Death, Calls Him Her 'Best Friend'

Kelly Osbourne has broken her silence following the recent death of her dad, Ozzy Osbourne. Kelly Osbourne has lost her 'best friend" following the death of her dad Ozzy Osbourne. The 40-year-old star has taken to social media to share her thoughts following Ozzy's passing on Tuesday (22.07.25), aged 76. Kelly – who released a cover of the Black Sabbath song Changes with her dad back in 2003 – wrote on Instagram: 'I feel unhappy I am so sad. I lost the best friend I ever had. (sic)" Ozzy performed his last-ever concert at Villa Park in Birmingham earlier this month, and Kelly actually got engaged backstage to Sid Wilson, from the band Slipknot, at the star-studded event. The Back to the Beginning concert also featured appearances from the likes of Metallica, Yungblud and Guns N' Roses. Ozzy's death was announced by his family earlier this week. They said in a statement: 'It is with more sadness than mere words can convey that we have to report that our beloved Ozzy Osbourne has passed away this morning. He was with his family and surrounded by love." The news prompted an outpouring of tributes from some of the biggest names in the music industry, including Ozzy's Black Sabbath bandmate Tony Iommi. He told BBC Radio 4's Today: 'He loved what he did, he loved music, he loved playing together, and I'm so glad we had the opportunity of getting together again to do the [farewell] show. 'It was brilliant being with all the guys again, and the atmosphere, and it was brilliant for Ozzy because he really wanted to do that, he felt at home there and it was good for all of us." Kiss frontman Gene Simmons also paid a glowing tribute to the late star, describing Ozzy as a 'unique, loveable person". Gene, 75, told the BBC: 'I know that, right now, millions of fans around the world are crying and shocked, and my heart goes out to Sharon and the family and the fans. 'There were no airs about him – he's met kings queens, political leaders, I think it's fair to say there was never an Ozzy Osbourne before Ozzy, and there will be another Ozzy. He was a unique, loveable person." First Published: Disclaimer: Comments reflect users' views, not News18's. Please keep discussions respectful and constructive.
