UDST, Shafallah Centre come together for job shadowing & training

The University of Doha for Science and Technology welcomed a group of members from the Shafallah Centre for Persons with Disabilities as part of the Is'ham initiative, which aims to empower individuals with intellectual disabilities and autism and prepare them for employment through real-life educational experiences in a professional work environment.
As part of this inclusive collaboration, members from the Shafallah Centre, accompanied by job coaches, participated in both training sessions and hands-on job shadowing across key UDST locations, including the University Library and Archives. The initiative offered members valuable exposure to professional work environments, encouraging the development of self-confidence, independence, and essential workplace skills.
Dr. Salem Al-Naemi, president of UDST, said: 'This initiative demonstrated the power of inclusive education and the strength of community partnerships. We were honoured to host these bright and determined members from the Shafallah and to provide them with a meaningful, hands-on work experience within the university. By opening our doors and engaging in initiatives like this, we reinforce our commitment to accessibility, diversity, and equal opportunity. These experiences not only benefit the students, but also enrich our campus culture and broaden the perspectives of our staff and faculty.'
Mariam Saif Al Suwaidi, executive director of Al-Shafallah Centre, expressed her gratitude to the administrators of the University of Doha for Science and Technology for providing the opportunity for the centre's members to train in a professional work environment. She added, saying: 'Such partnerships are essential in paving comprehensive career paths for our members. We are grateful to UDST for its continued support, and for providing an environment that leverages growth, engagement, and constructive evaluation.'
This initiative serves as a model for collaboration between educational and community institutions.

Tribune News Network Doha The Ministry of Environment and Climate Change (MoECC), represented by the Public Relations and Communications Department, concluded its participation in the summer camp organised by the Qatar Chess Federation from July 6 to July 31. As part ofparticipation, the ministry presented a number of recycling workshops under the theme 'Turn Your Waste into Creative Ideas'. The workshops aimed to raise environmental awareness among young people and highlight the importance of recycling household waste and transforming it into innovative works of art. The activities included displaying examples of artwork created by workshop participants, in addition to organising awareness-raising competitions that focused on introducing participants to the components of the Qatari environment and ways to preserve it. The workshops received remarkable interaction from the children participating in the camp, with several expressing their enthusiasm for learning about recycling methods through practical activities that combined entertainment and learning, under the supervision of specialists from the ministry. The ministry's participation is a successful model for employing summer activities to instil concepts of sustainability among participants and encourage them to adopt positive, environmentally friendly behaviours in their daily lives.

Bangladesh MHM School & College celebrates outstanding SSC results

Tribune News Network Doha Bangladesh MHM School & College has announced its excellent achievement in the Secondary School Certificate (SSC) Examination 2025, conducted under the Boards of Intermediate and Secondary Education, Dhaka. The school attained a remarkable overall pass rate of 84%, significantly surpassing the Dhaka board's average pass percentage of 67.51%. Out of 94 students who appeared in the examination, 68 successfully passed, and an impressive 14 students achieved brilliant results of GPA-5, including 13 from the Science group and 1 from the Business Studies group. Among these, 6 students earned the highly prestigious Golden GPA-5. Additionally, 16 students secured GPA 4 and above, which reflects the school's teachers and parent's relentless dedication and team works for this grand success. Expressing his heartfelt congratulations, Lt. Cdr. Md. Anwar Khurshid (Retd), MBA, director of Bangladesh MHM School & College, praised the dedication and perseverance of the students, particularly the GPA-5 achievers and all other successful candidates. He also expressed sincere appreciation to the hardworking teachers, parents, and devoted administrative staffs whose combined efforts made this success possible. He further acknowledged the unwavering guidance and support of Ambassador of Bangladesh to Qatar and Chairman of the institution, H.E. Md. Nazrul Islam, who played a pivotal role in achieving these remarkable results. Islam expressed his satisfaction over the excellent performance of the Golden GPA-5 and GPA-5 achievers, along with the high overall pass percentage. ATM Asadusjaman, acting principal, also extended warm congratulations to the students and teachers for their dedication and expressed optimism for continued academic success in future examinations. With these accomplishments, Bangladesh MHM School & College reaffirms its commitment to nurturing academic excellence and rendering support every student to reach their highest goal.

NCSA's Cybersecurity Curriculum Project wins WSIS 2025 Award

Tribune News Network Doha The Cybersecurity Curriculum Project of the National Cyber Security Agency, has won the World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS) 2025 Prize in the category 'ALC10: Ethical Dimensions of the Information Society'. The award was received on Monday by Abdulla Al Sayed, advisor to the President of the National Cyber Security Agency, during the official ceremony held in Geneva, Switzerland. On this occasion, Al Sayed, emphasized that winning the first place is the result of the agency's continuous and dedicated efforts to enhance individual cyber capabilities and strengthen the stability of cyberspace across all segments of society. He added 'Through the Cybersecurity Curriculum Project, we aim to build a cyber safe society where all members possess the awareness needed to encounter future challenges that accompany the rapid technological advancement, positioning Qatar as a global leader in the cybersecurity landscape.' He extended his sincere appreciation to the Ministry of Education & Higher Education and the entire team behind the Cybersecurity Curriculum Project. Dalal Al Aqeedi, assistant director of Cyber Security Strategies & Policies Department at the National Cyber Security Agency, stated that this global award marks a significant achievement. The project passed through various competitive stages, alongside five other global projects, receiving more than 15000 votes. During the 2024-2025 academic year, the Cybersecurity Curriculum Project was implemented in 214 government school, 178 private school, 39 community school, 2 schools for students with special needs and 500 parents. The project included delivering cybersecurity awareness content to more than 280,000 student and delivering training workshops for 353 teachers. The project has also achieved significant outcomes, including fundamentals of safe browsing, personal data protection, online risks and malware, digital safety and cybersecurity fundamentals, as well as general awareness on the negative digital behaviours such as internet addiction. The Cybersecurity Curriculum Project has earned several recognitions, including the Cybersecurity Education Excellence Award from the Swiss Cybersecurity Institute. It was also featured in the UNESCO Global Education Monitoring Report, and recognized during the International Day for Education under HundrED Institute. The project is designed to achieve a set of objectives, including raising awareness among the general public, especially children and youths, about the concept of digital citizenship, which entails the responsible, ethical, and safe use of Information & Communication Technology.
