French Consul hails Sheikh Sultan's efforts in setting up Holy Quran Academy
The Consul General of France in Dubai commended His Highness Dr Sheikh Sultan Bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, for his efforts in founding the Holy Quran Academy in Sharjah.
He described the Academy as a distinguished academic hub that fosters global connections and serves as a unique educational institution dedicated to sharing the knowledge and heritage of the Quran with the world.
This statement came during the visit of the French Consul General, Jean-Christophe Paris, and his deputy, Ilhami Gulsen, to the Academy, where they were received by Dr Eng. Khalifa Musabah Al Tunaiji, President of the Academy; Abdullah Khalaf Al Hosani, Secretary General of the Academy; and several department directors.

The Academy's President welcomed the French Consul and his accompanying delegation, taking them on a tour of the Quranic museums and offering a detailed explanation of the Academy's role, mission, and three main pillars: the Sharjah Global Electronic Quran Recitation Platform, through which students receive Quranic certifications in various narrations; the Department of Studies and Scientific Research, which handles the Academy's academic and research projects; and the Quranic Museums, which showcase the history of Quranic manuscript writing, its sciences, and notable figures.
Jean-Christophe Paris, the French Consul General, said: 'I was honoured to visit the Holy Quran Academy in Sharjah, a prominent institution in the emirate and a center of knowledge, preservation, and transmission of Quranic sciences in the Islamic world.'
He added: 'I toured the museums that display rare and ancient manuscripts, exceptional textiles that once adorned the Holy Kaaba in Makkah, and the legacies of prominent Quran reciters, including Sheikh Mohamed Siddiq Al Minshawi, Sheikh Mahmoud Khalil Al Hussary, and Sheikh Ali Abdullah Saleh Ali Jaber Al Hasaidi.'
He also praised the efforts of Sheikh Sultan in establishing this academic institution, which serves as a bridge between nations and religions.
More than 400 students from over 172 countries around the world visit the Academy annually.
The French Consul General concluded: 'I extend my thanks to the Academy's management and all its team members for their warm welcome and applauded their exceptional efforts.'

This success affirms the importance of evidence-based policy and global best practices in conserving our natural heritage for future generations.'EAD's recent monitoring efforts also yielded notable findings that further validate the success of its marine sustainability agenda. These include the landing of 55 nuaimi fish– a species rarely sighted in recent years – as well as the first recorded presence of the white-spotted grouper in Abu Dhabi, now officially registered on the international Fish Base database. Additional sightings include rare species such as the large-scaled triggerfish and the spotted oceanic triggerfish, as well as the general presence of larger fish, indicating healthier marine has implemented a comprehensive series of internationally aligned policies for fish stock recovery. These measures include regulating commercial fishing activities through sustainable methods, as well as implementing new regulations for recreational fishing. The Agency has also established six marine reserves within the Sheikh Zayed Protected Areas Network where fishing is regulated, enhanced sustainable aquaculture and fish stocks through coral culture and artificial reefs as part of the Abu Dhabi Coral Gardens initiative.
