French Consul hails Sheikh Sultan's efforts in setting up Holy Quran Academy
He described the Academy as a distinguished academic hub that fosters global connections and serves as a unique educational institution dedicated to sharing the knowledge and heritage of the Quran with the world.
This statement came during the visit of the French Consul General, Jean-Christophe Paris, and his deputy, Ilhami Gulsen, to the Academy, where they were received by Dr Eng. Khalifa Musabah Al Tunaiji, President of the Academy; Abdullah Khalaf Al Hosani, Secretary General of the Academy; and several department directors.

The Academy's President welcomed the French Consul and his accompanying delegation, taking them on a tour of the Quranic museums and offering a detailed explanation of the Academy's role, mission, and three main pillars: the Sharjah Global Electronic Quran Recitation Platform, through which students receive Quranic certifications in various narrations; the Department of Studies and Scientific Research, which handles the Academy's academic and research projects; and the Quranic Museums, which showcase the history of Quranic manuscript writing, its sciences, and notable figures.
Jean-Christophe Paris, the French Consul General, said: 'I was honoured to visit the Holy Quran Academy in Sharjah, a prominent institution in the emirate and a center of knowledge, preservation, and transmission of Quranic sciences in the Islamic world.'
He added: 'I toured the museums that display rare and ancient manuscripts, exceptional textiles that once adorned the Holy Kaaba in Makkah, and the legacies of prominent Quran reciters, including Sheikh Mohamed Siddiq Al Minshawi, Sheikh Mahmoud Khalil Al Hussary, and Sheikh Ali Abdullah Saleh Ali Jaber Al Hasaidi.'
He also praised the efforts of Sheikh Sultan in establishing this academic institution, which serves as a bridge between nations and religions.
More than 400 students from over 172 countries around the world visit the Academy annually.
The French Consul General concluded: 'I extend my thanks to the Academy's management and all its team members for their warm welcome and applauded their exceptional efforts.'

His Highness examined the centre's comprehensive layout, admired the aesthetic designs, and appreciated the murals inscribed with Quranic verses. His Highness also took note of the centre's collection of notable historical Qurans and religious artifacts. His Highness also paid a visit to Masjid Misr, the largest mosque in the country and the third-largest in the world. It can hold up to 12,000 worshippers inside, but when considering the entire area, it can accommodate around 137,000 people. The mosque is renowned for its stunning architectural design, featuring two tall minarets that rise 148 meters into the sky, and a main dome that measures 29.5 meters in diameter and weighs an impressive 500 tons. There are also 20 smaller domes throughout the building. Additionally, the wooden pulpit in the mosque holds the title for the largest of its kind in the world, according to the Guinness Book of Records.
