Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Richard Madden to Star in Netflix Thriller ‘Trinity'
Netflix is going inside the Pentagon with its latest series order.
The streamer has picked up Trinity, a thriller from Bodyguard creator Jed Mercurio and Disney's 20th Television. Gugu Mbatha-Raw and Richard Madden (who starred in Bodyguard) will play the lead roles as a U.S. Navy officer and the secretary of defense.

Mbatha-Raw (Apple TV's Surface and The Morning Show) will play Commander Katherine Decker, the second in command of the USS Kansas, a nuclear submarine. Katherine becomes involved with Secretary of Defense Webb Preston (Madden), then discovers 'he may be at the heart of a dangerous conspiracy,' per the show's logline.
Madden's character is described as having a background in tech, making him different from most politicians, and his drive for innovation is seen as a threat.
Mercurio's Bodyguard scored a pair of Emmy nominations (best drama series and best writing for a drama) in 2019. Mercurio's credits as a writer and producer also include the BBC's Line of Duty (which streams on Acorn TV in the U.S.) and Bodies and ITV's Trigger Point. He will executive produce Trinity with Jimmy Mulville of Hat Trick Productions and Wendy Mericle. Michael Cuesta (Homeland, Dexter) will direct and executive produce the first two episodes.

Theron coordinated the look with a pair of black square-toed boots. She also styled a black blazer with sharp lapels overtop her bodysuit. As for her glam, Theron's blond hair was pulled back into a tight chignon. Her makeup included smoky eyes, defined brows and a glossy lip. Theron's 'The Old Guard 2' premiere look made its runway debut during Paris Fashion Week last March. The collection marked Sarah Burton's first as the creative director of the French luxury fashion house. The designer previously led the formative years of her career with Alexander McQueen. Burton took inspiration from Givenchy's debut collection in 1952, turning to the archives and crafting a collection that went 'back to silhouette. This is the backbone of the house today,' she said per Miles Socha's WWD review of the collection. 'The clothes were superb, peerlessly realized and immediately desirable; sometimes young and zesty, but most often the pinnacle of adult sophistication,' Socha wrote in WWD's review. Is ‘Lookism' returning for season 2? Everything we know so far

If you binged the first season of this South Korean anime on Netflix back in December 2022, you're probably itching to know if Park Hyung-seok's wild body-switching story is coming back for round two. The show, based on Park Tae-joon's mega-popular webtoon, hooked fans with its mix of raw social commentary—think bullying and judging people by their looks—and a supernatural twist that's just plain cool. So, is Lookism Season 2 happening? Here's everything we know so far. Is Lookism Season 2 happening? Straight up, as of today in June 2025, there's no official word from Netflix or Studio Mir (the folks who animated it) about a second season. Crickets. Nada. Zilch. The first season dropped eight episodes, wrapping up around chapter 27 of the webtoon with that school festival moment where Hyung-seok and Deok Hwa stole the show. Fans loved it— Lookism is sitting pretty with a 7.49/10 on MyAnimeList—but Netflix plays its renewal cards close to the chest. They're all about those viewership numbers, and we don't have the tea on whether Lookism hit their magic mark. The webtoon's got over 400 chapters and counting, so there's no shortage of story to tell. If Netflix gives the green light soon, we're probably looking at late 2026 or even 2027 for a release, since animation takes forever. Studio Mir's got a solid track record, but they're not rushing this one, it seems. Lookism Season 2 Potential Plot Okay, let's say Season 2 gets the go-ahead. What's in store? The first season left off right before the PaprikaTV arc, where Deok Hwa gets into live-streaming and things get spicy. Expect new faces, more drama, and deeper dives into Hyung-seok's whole 'two bodies, one soul' deal. The webtoon starts peeling back layers on other characters who can pull the same body-switch trick, like Choi Su-jeong. It's less about high school shenanigans and more about the bigger picture—still tackling how society's obsessed with looks, but with some fresh twists. The webtoon gets pretty intense later, with gang vibes and darker themes, but Season 2 would probably keep that mix of funny, heartfelt, and 'whoa, didn't see that coming' moments that made Season 1 click.
