DJEIDI GASSAMA was the Rangers hero once again as the Light Blues marched on in Champions League qualifying.
But new footage has shown that one Panathinaikos player didn't seem too pleased about it all.

Rangers headed to Athens with a two-goal advantage after goals from Findlay Curtis and Gassama in the first leg at Ibrox.
Russell Martin's men weathered an almighty storm with Jack Butland called into action just as he was the week before.
The Greeks also squandered several great chances.
Panathinaikos did, however, open the scoring on 53 minutes when Filip Djuricic's rather scrappy header found the back of the net.
But just a minute after coming on, new fans' favourite Gassama clambered off the bench to strike with a superb first time finish.
While the host Greek broadcaster showed several replays of Gassama's goal, something appeared to have happened.
When the cameras switched back to the live action, Italian referee Simone Sozza was seen dishing out yellow cards.
One went to a rather bemused Gassama with the other flashed towards Panathinaikos midfielder Anastasios Bakasetas.
However, to those viewing on TV, it wasn't entirely clear why.
Gassama appeared to have been cautioned for jumping over the advertising hoardings to celebrate his goal but Bakasetas' booking was a bit of a mystery.

Rangers have released an alternative match view with their own footage as part of their 'Away Days' series on YouTube.
And the footage shows exactly what went on as Gassama celebrated his goal.
The winger can be seen blasting the ball home before wheeling away in delight to celebrate.
But as he turns around to take the adulation of his teammates, someone else decides to show up - Bakasetas.
The veteran midfielder - who had already clashed with Gers star Joe Rothwell earlier in the game - could be seen confronting the gathered Light Blues players.
The Greece international appears in shot and immediately gets into words with Gers skipper James Tavernier.
Danilo and Max Aarons then get into it with Bakasetas, who is subsequently joined by teammate Erik Palmer-Brown who also doesn't look too impressed.
What isn't clear is exactly what made Bakasetas so unhappy.
Gassama wasn't about to hang around to find out.
The Gers new boy can be seen turning back towards the fans while his teammates spar with Bakasetas.
The 21-year old puts his fingers to his ears as he faces the supporters.
Gassama's goal made it 3-1 on aggregate and that saw Rangers through to the third qualifying round.
They'll now take on Czech outfit Viktoria Plzen with the first leg taking place at Ibrox this coming Tuesday.

Juventus ready to help end Newcastle's striker transfer hell - but there's a huge catch

Newcastle are scouring the transfer market for a striker who can replace Liverpool target Alexander Isak and were closing in on Benjamin Sesko before Manchester United swooped in Newcastle have been handed the chance to end their hellish striker conundrum by signing Dusan Vlahovic from Juventus. But the Italian giants want something in exchange: star midfielder Sandro Tonali. ‌ The Magpies are looking for a new striker after Alexander Isak told St James' Park chiefs that he wants to leave ahead of their pre-season tour. Last week, Newcastle rejected a £120million bid from Liverpool but the Premier League champions are expected to table a second offer. ‌ Benjamin Sesko was identified as the ideal replacement but he's snubbed Newcastle in favour of a £74m move to Manchester United. That's forced them go down their shortlist, with Chelsea's Nicolas Jackson understood to be a serious target for Howe. ‌ But now Vlahovic has emerged an option. Gazzaetta dello Sport report that Newcastle have been offered the chance to sign the Serbian through intermediaries - with a huge catch. Juventus are dreaming of signing Tonali, with manager Igor Tudor and club chief Giorgio Chiellini in agreement that he's the right man to solve their issues in midfield. The problem is that Newcastle consider the 25-year-old, who's happy in the north east, unsellable, so Juve have come up with an ambitious proposal. In exchange for Tonali, the Italian giants would offer a cash sum plus Vlahovic and one of midfielder Douglas Luiz or right-back Nicolo Savona. Given the unlikelihood of Newcastle agreeing to such an outlandish deal, Juventus have identified a number alternatives, with Luiz up for sale like Vlahovic. Sporting Lisbon midfielder Dane Morten Hjulmand, Matt O'Riley of Brighton, Al-Ahli's Franck Kessie, Sofyan Amrabat of Fenerbahce and Roma's Bryan Cristante have been shortlisted as an alternatives. Newcastle would also have to asses whether Vlahovic, 25, was a sufficient replacement for Isak. The former Fiorentina hitman has been deemed surplus to requirements in Turin after failing to score 20 goals in any of his three full seasons with the Bianconeri. Vlahovic only scored 10 Serie A goals last term, hardly fitting of the £66.6m which Juve paid to sign him in January 2022. Should Newcastle swap Sandro Tonali for cash and two Juventus players? Have your say in the comments section. ‌ The Serbia international has been linked with a move to AC Milan, who are managed by ex-Juventus boss Massimiliano Allegri. Vlahovic has the physical presence to step into Isak's shoes but even with Luiz or Savona to boot, allowing Tonali to leave would be a huge gamble. Newcastle won't be short of change if Isak leaves, too, demanding a British record fee. Juventus might have to get more creative if they want to bring Tonali back to Italy.

'Celtic need to take a leaf out of Rangers' book on transfers'

Celtic have been told they need to be more like rivals Rangers in the way they conduct their transfer business. Go Ahead Eagles chairman Jan Willem van Dop says he has had dealings with both Glasgow clubs in recent weeks and found a stark difference between the two. Van Dop said at the end of July that the club would only sell one of wingers Oliver Antman and Jakob Breum this summer. Rangers were linked with Antman, while he said Celtic had made contact about Breum. Since then, Antman has completed a move to Ibrox and made his debut, and an instant impact, in the Champions League qualifier against Viktoria Plzen. Breum remains a Go Ahead player, while Celtic have been criticised for their lack of major signings in the transfer window so far. The Dutch club's chairman says Celtic's offer was nowhere near Go Ahead's valuation of Breum, and advised the club to up their game if they want to land their targets. 'Celtic showed some interest in Jakob Breum, but we felt that the gap between us was too wide,' Van Dop told Algemeen Dagblad. 'Things moved very quickly with Oliver Antman and Glasgow Rangers. Celtic could have taken a leaf out of Rangers' book, haha.' Speaking last week, Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers made it clear he wanted new players in, and that he wanted to continue to deliver improvements on the squad and in results. 'I am not here to maintain levels, this is a really fast moving club and you have to keep moving quickly,' he said. 'It's one of the biggest clubs in world football and there is always a demand and an expectation, and the only way to get better is to keep improving and developing. 'The message to the supporters is that everyone here will be doing our upmost to improve on last season, and it's a really exciting season ahead, and if we can add where we need to add then it can be even better for us. 'For clarity, I love being here, yes there has been some challenges on the pitch, and off the pitch, since I have arrived, but that is management, that is coaching, but in the main I have absolutely loved it here and will continue to do so for however long that is. 'But, there has to be that ambition from everyone, it's no good just the manager having it and the players not, or whatever else, everything has to be aligned. I know that the club are also very keen to progress and develop. Gianluigi Donnarumma's clash with Liverpool icon, Pep Guardiola meddling, Man Utd U-turn

As Gianluigi Donnarumma continues to be linked with a Premier League move, we take a look at the Italian shot-stopper's potential Manchester United transfer and flash points surrounding PSG's keeper Gianluigi Donnarumma could face some interesting reunions if he ends up joining Manchester United. Italy's No.1 goalkeeper is reportedly interested in a move to Old Trafford, after Paris Saint-Germain agreed a £35million deal to sign Lille goalkeeper Lucas Chevalier. ‌ United have been busy in the transfer window, signing Diego Leon, Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo and they are also on the verge of buying Benjamin Sesko in a deal worth just short of £74m including add-ons. A move for PSG 's goalkeeper is said to be difficult at present. ‌ But the situation may change if United are able to shift unwanted players such as Alejandro Garnacho, Antony and Jadon Sancho – subsequently boosting their budget. ‌ The former AC Milan goalkeeper also has a history with Premier League clubs and some players he could yet come up against. Mirror Football takes a look at Donnarumma's past fracases. Donnarumma's clash with Liverpool icon In the Euro 2020 final, Donnarumma was seen arguing with former Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson at half time. As both teams went into the dressing room for the break, England were leading the Italians 1-0, thanks to Luke Shaw's half-volley in the second minute. But as Donnarumma strutted towards the tunnel, Henderson – an England substitute at the time – came out to confront the goalkeeper. The now Brentford midfielder was seen pointing at the penalty area while berating the goalkeeper. It's believed he took issue with Donnarumma's furious reaction to Raheem Sterling going down in the penalty area in the first half, which led to the PSG ace angrily confronting the forward. After Henderson approached him, a member of staff from the Italian team could be seen pulling Donnarumma away from the midfielder and down the tunnel. Italy, of course, went on to win the final on penalties – leaving Three Lions fans inside Wembley heartbroken. ‌ Pep Guardiola meddling This summer, Manchester City have also been linked with a move for Donnarumma. This is seemingly ironic, as reports claim Pep Guardiola personally intervened to prevent a move for the Italian happening in the summer of 2023. PSG were believed to be so interested in signing City midfielder Bernardo Silva in 2023, they were willing to offer the goalkeeper and Marco Verratti in exchange. However, Guardiola was intent on holding onto Silva and was said to have personally ended any hope of the move happening. ‌ Two years later, City have been linked with Donnarumma again, as per Football Italia, despite the fact they recently signed James Trafford from Burnley. Man Utd U-turn At the age of 18 years old, it was reported how Donnarumma had privately told his friends he was on his way to the Premier League. ‌ During this period, David De Gea looked certain to join Real Madrid, only for a fax machine to infamously scupper his move to the Bernabeu. United were the heavy favourites at the time, according to The Sun, and were confident they could wrap up a deal for the teenager back in 2017. However, Donnarumma performed a U-turn and proceeded to apologise to AC Milan supporters, ultimately signing a new long-term contract at the San Siro. After the move did not go through, he said: "I'm delighted and proud to be at Milan. I was born and raised at this club and I never had any doubts about staying in my mind. ‌ "I'm sorry to the fans who felt betrayed, but I repeat that was not my intention. I'm sorry to them and thank them for their affection for these two years. I am proud to be here." Chelsea star floored After Chelsea beat PSG 3-0 in the Club World Cup final this summer, Donnarumma and his manager Luis Enrique were furious with the antics of Joao Pedro. The Brazilian, who scooped the Blues' third goal over the Italian's head, was shoved in the throat by Donnarumma, while Enrique also wanted to get his own strike on him. ‌ Pedro, who joined the west Londoners from Brighton & Hove Albion for £60m this summer, fell to the floor, clutching his face. Donnarumma and Enrique continued arguing with Chelsea players, who also steamed into the scuffle. In the end, his shove on Pedro proved to be the most memorable moment of the post-match altercation. With Chelsea also previously expressing an interest in Donnarumma, it's possible the Italian and Pedro could yet become team-mates in the future, although United's hunt for a keeper appears more pressing right now.
