Bengals great loves what he's seen from Amarius Mims so far
Former Cincinnati Bengals standout Andrew Whitworth loves what he sees from the team's current offensive line, especially with sophomore Amarius Mims.
Speaking with Geoff Hobson of Bengals.com recently, Whitworth plenty to say about Mims.
"Fun to watch," Whitworth. "It's just like quarterbacks and every other position. We put so much emphasis on these young guys being whatever it is the very first year. It's such a process. Especially in that offense where literally he just lines up in the shotgun and is put in the most challenging scenarios he's ever going have in his career. That takes time. He's got all the ability in the world. I'm excited."
High praise for Mims, who appeared in 15 games last year, starting 13. He only finished with a 57.8 PFF grade, but the flashes on film and solid showings against some of the best pass rushers in the AFC North suggested major upside.
Mims appeared to have an inside track on a starting job as a rookie over the summer because of those flashes before suffering a slight setback.
Based on Whitworth's comments and everything else now, it's clear that simply being able to stay on the field for a full season might be the biggest hurdle in the way of Mims becoming a franchise tackle for years to come.

Golden State Warriors jersey history - No. 15 - Ralph Polson (1952-53)
The Golden State Warriors have had over 600 players don the more than 60 jersey numbers used by their players over the more than 75 years of existence the team has enjoyed in its rich and storied history. Founded in 1946 during the Basketball Association of America (BAA -- a precursor league of the NBA) era, the team has called home the cities of Philadelphia, San Francisco, Oakland, and even San Diego. Advertisement To commemorate the players who wore those numbers, Warriors Wire is covering the entire history of jersey numbers and the players who sported them since the founding of the team. For this article, we begin with the sixth of 27 players who wore the No. 15 jersey for the Warriors. After ending his college career at Whitworth, Polson was picked up with the sixth overall selection of the 1952 NBA draft by the New York Knicks. The Riverside, California native was dealt to the (then) Philadelphia (now, Golden State) Warriors before the year was out, his final 46 games played at the NBA level. Advertisement During his time suiting up for the Warriors, Polson wore only jersey No. 15 and put up 3.9 points and 4.4 rebounds per game. All stats and data courtesy of Basketball Reference. Eagles Young Lineman Labeled Breakout Candidate
Eagles Young Lineman Labeled Breakout Candidate originally appeared on Athlon Sports. The Philadelphia Eagles were able to win the second Super Bowl in franchise history this past season, and a big factor in their success was some spectacular play from their defense. Advertisement And that unit could be even better when the 2025 season comes. In a recent article by PFF's Bradley Locker, he puts together a team full of players who he believes could break out in 2025. And one of the players he picks is Eagles third year defense lineman Moro Ojomo. "As part of Philadelphia's Super Bowl-winning campaign, Ojomo quietly played a critical role in a deep interior defender rotation," Locker wrote. "The former seventh-round pick ended the season with an 82.4 PFF pass-rushing grade, including an 83.8 PFF pass-rushing grade on true pass sets. Each of those figures ranked top 11 among all defensive linemen, and his 18.2% pass-rush win rate was the second-best among qualifiers, trailing only Chris Jones." The interior of the Eagles' defensive line was a bit crowded in 2024, so Ojomo sat behind Jalen Carter and Milton Williams. But now that Williams has moved on to the New England Patriots, Ojomo could see more opportunities. Advertisement The 23-year-old defensive lineman tallied 20 talkies and five quarterback hits this past season while starting in just one game. If that is any indication of how he would play if he is given more snaps, the Eagles should be very happy. Philadelphia is clearly the team to beat in 2025, and Ojomo could help the team defend the Lombardi Trophy with a breakout year in his third season. Report: Bengals restart talks with star DE Trey Hendrickson
The Cincinnati Bengals and star defensive end Trey Hendrickson have reportedly resumed contract discussions. The NFL sack leader has been at odds with the franchise over the lack of a contract extension, but ESPN reported Sunday that dialogue has picked up. Hendrickson, 30, skipped last week's mandatory three-day mini-camp and is reportedly subject to $105,000 in fines. Hendrickson is slated to earn $15.8 million in base salary in 2025. That pales in comparison to the recent $40 million average deal Cleveland Browns star Myles Garrett signed in the offseason. Hendrickson has indicated he won't play without a bump in pay and expressed disappointment in the process in mid-May. "When there's a lack of communication in any relationship, where it's a business or personal relationship, lack of communication leads to animosity, and that leaves my narrative only to me with no clear direction," Hendrickson said May 13 when asked about whether he wants to remain with the Bengals. Hendrickson had 17.5 sacks in each of the past two seasons with that output being the best in the league in 2024. He has 57 total sacks in his four seasons with Cincinnati and has made the Pro Bowl on each occasion. Overall, Hendrickson has 77 career sacks in 110 games (81 starts), divided equally between the New Orleans Saints (2017-20) and Bengals. Bengals rookie defensive end Shemar Stewart also is in a dispute with the team over the language in his contract. --Field Level Media Field Level Media 2025 - All Rights Reserved
