Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah Tops TRP Charts, Beats Anupamaa
Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah, the longest-running Indian comedy series, continues to win hearts with its signature humour and strong portrayal of community and family values. Since its premiere in 2008, the show has remained a fan favourite and now, it has reclaimed the number one spot on the TRP charts. That's right! TMKOC has surpassed Rupali Ganguly's popular daily soap Anupamaa to become the most-watched show of the week.
Interestingly, the current 'Bhootni 2.0" storyline seems to have worked wonders for the show's ratings — and that too without the presence of its main lead, Jethalal (played by Dilip Joshi). The eerie, suspenseful twist has brought a refreshing change to the otherwise light-hearted tone of TMKOC. For long-time fans, the ghostly theme sparked nostalgia, reminding them of earlier haunted episodes that left the Gokuldham Society in similar spooky chaos.
Riding high on the success of the show, producer Asit Kumar Modi expressed his happiness and said, 'TMKOC is not just a show—it's a team effort, a shared dream. I believe in the power of storytelling rooted in values, and none of this would be possible without the dedication of our writers, cast, crew and the affection of our fans."
The absence of Dilip Joshi and Munmun Dutta aka Jethalal and Babita Ji in the current plot left the users speculating that both of them have decided to quit the show.
As for the current plot, every member of the Gokuldham society is on holiday in a haunted cottage. While other characters, such as Bapu ji, Popatlal, and Sodhi, have joined Taarak Mehta and Anjali on their vacation, Jethalal and Babita Ji have been absent. This has left everyone wondering if Dilip Joshi and Munmun Dutta are planning to leave.
According to ABP News, the show's production house has confirmed that Munmun Dutta and Dilip Joshi are still a part of the show. While the current plotline suggests that Jethalal is on a business trip with his colleagues, Babita and Iyer are believed to be vacationing in Mahabaleshwar.
The show features Dilip Joshi, Munmun Dutta, Mandar Chandwadkar, Sonalika Joshi, Amit Bhatt and Shyam Pathak among others in the leads.

Kitne Aadmi Thhe: Music stores remember the record that changed the industry for ever
Kolkata: In 1975, the release of 'Sholay' marked a pivotal moment in Bollywood, not just for its groundbreaking action sequences but for its revolutionary approach to film soundtracks. The film's music and dialogues became a cultural phenomenon, especially in Kolkata, where fans eagerly played the LPs and EPs until they wore out. This was the first time Bollywood embraced stereo sound, offering an immersive auditory experience that captivated audiences. Shiladitya Chaudhury, a music enthusiast and composer, recalls how the soundtrack was already a sensation before the film hit theaters. Radio Ceylon teased audiences with songs like 'Koi Haseena Jab Mil Jaaye', but it was the inclusion of Gabbar Singh's iconic dialogues and RD Burman 's evocative background score on vinyl that truly set it apart. This was more than just music; it was a sonic experience that fans relished on their home record players. Polydor Records, a newcomer in the Indian market, took a bold step by purchasing the music rights from the Sippys for Rs 5 lakh, outbidding industry giant HMV. This gamble paid off spectacularly, as Polydor sold five times the number of records needed to break even, cementing its place in the industry. Prem Gupta, from the Symphony shop in New Market, noted that 'Sholay' was instrumental in establishing Polydor's reputation. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Villas For Sale in Dubai Might Surprise You Villas In Dubai | Search Ads Get Quote Undo You Can Also Check: Kolkata AQI | Weather in Kolkata | Bank Holidays in Kolkata | Public Holidays in Kolkata | Gold Rates Today in Kolkata | Silver Rates Today in Kolkata The soundtrack's success was due in large part to RD Burman's innovative use of music. His compositions were ahead of their time, incorporating French horns, eerie cello wails, and even beer-bottle percussion. The six-track stereo recording was a rarity in India, requiring meticulous coordination and international collaboration for mixing. This technical achievement transformed the Indian film music scene, setting a new standard for future productions. The release of LPs featuring the film's dialogues was another groundbreaking move. Fans were not only captivated by the music but also by the memorable lines delivered by characters like Jai, Veeru, Basanti, and Gabbar Singh. These dialogues became an integral part of the film's appeal. While 'Sholay' wasn't technically the first 70mm or six-track stereo film, it was the first to combine these elements with a blockbuster narrative. The result was a sensory feast, with every sound meticulously crafted to enhance the viewing experience. Amit Sarkar, a sound engineer, highlighted how even the fight effects were reworked in London to deliver the satisfying 'dishum dishum' that audiences loved. The film's music also broke new ground with the use of a synthesizer in 'Yeh Dosti', signaling the playful rivalry and friendship between Jai and Veeru. Nearly five decades later, the sounds of 'Sholay' continue to resonate in popular culture. From Gabbar's gravelly 'Kitne aadmi the?' to Burman's galloping themes, the film's soundtrack remains a testament to the transformative power of music in cinema. In 1975, 'Sholay' wasn't just a film release; it was a revolution on vinyl. Stay updated with the latest local news from your city on Times of India (TOI). Mohit Suri reveals he called uncle Mahesh Bhatt for advice on Saiyaara: 'I said, I am feeling a little unsure'
Since its release last month, Mohit Suri 's most recent film, Saiyaara, has gained immense popularity. Newcomers Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda starred in the movie, and as a result of its success, they have also become huge stars. As Saiyaara continues its box office run, Mohit recently discussed love, loss and of course, Saiyaara. He recalled how, when he was unclear about a particular scene in the movie, he called his uncle, Mahesh Bhatt , for guidance. Mohit's mother, Heena, is Mahesh Bhatt's sister, making him the filmmaker's nephew. Mohit has frequently worked under Mahesh's guidance, and he turned to his uncle and mentor for support when he was having doubts during the Saiyaara filming. When Mohit Suri was performing the scene with the actors, he felt it was becoming too dramatic, referring to the scene in Saiyaara where Ahaan Panday's father gets violent with him. Mohit told News18, 'At 7 in the morning the next day, I was going to shoot the scene. I sent a missed call to Bhatt saab. He was up at 4 in the morning, and he called me up. I said, 'I am feeling a little unsure, they're very nice people. I think I'm being a little too dramatic.' by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Colombia: New Container Houses (Prices May Surprise You) Container House | Search ads Search Now Undo He has no idea about my script." 'All I've told him is the scene where the son gets violent with his father, he's an alcoholic. Bhatt saab just cut me off. He said a couple of swear words to me; that's him. I didn't realise that my profile picture was of my son's hand in my hand. He just said that the way you're holding your son's hand in a close-up, the kind of emotion you feel towards your son, no matter how, go shoot this scene, it's never going to have a wrong emotional connect," Mohit recalled. Mohit said that Bhatt mentioned, 'The son-father bond is too pure for you. How can the same person who has a DP like this even ask me this question? Go shoot it the way you want." Mohit Suri listened and paid heed to this advice and it turned out to be one of the scenes that Aditya Chopra loved most. Saiyaara, on the other hand, has moved viewers all over the world. The movie's worldwide total now exceeds Rs 500 crore, while its Indian box office receipts have surpassed Rs 300 crore. Alongside Ahaan and Aneet, the ensemble cast includes Alam Khan, Sid Makkar, Shaan Groverr, Rajesh Kumar, and Varun Badola.
