Justin Baldoni attends Blake Lively's deposition in legal dispute
Baldoni, aged 41, faced Blake Lively, 37, as his lawyers questioned her at her legal team's office.
The courtroom drama has captivated not just Hollywood but the world. Conversations about workplace rights and legal protection have been resonating strongly.
The legal battle centres on Lively's allegations of sexual harassment and retaliation against Baldoni. Justin Baldoni was her director and co-star in the film It Ends With Us .
Baldoni has firmly denied the claims, according to People .
Justin Baldoni's physical presence at the deposition defied many expectations. Traditionally, parties refrain from attending such depositions in person.
Bryan Freedman, Justin Baldoni's lawyer, previously said, 'He wants to be vindicated, and that's all that he cares about.'
'Baldoni knows who he is, what he's done, what he hasn't done. He wants the truth to come out, and he's waiting for his day in court.'
Judge Lewis J. Liman has strictly regulated the legal process by issuing a protective order. This allowed Lively's lawyers control over the location and notification of those present for the deposition.
In a powerful statement after the dismissal of Baldoni's counterclaims, Blake Lively stated: 'Like so many others, I've felt the pain of a retaliatory lawsuit. This includes the manufactured shame that tries to break us.
I am more resolved than ever to continue to stand for every woman's right to have a voice in protecting themselves, including their safety, their integrity, their dignity and their story.'
Baldoni's countersuits include allegations of extortion and defamation against Blake Lively and her husband, actor Ryan Reynolds.
A judge dismissed Justin Baldoni's defamation lawsuit against Blake Lively in June 2025.
The court rejected his claims of extortion and defamation, ruling that Lively's actions constituted permissible negotiation rather than wrongful extortion.
A judge has set the trial for March 2026, and both Justin Baldoni and Blake Lively will testify.
Freedman summarised his approach: 'I'm going to ask her questions under penalty of perjury. She'll have to provide evidence and the truth.
We're going to see how consistent her testimony is with the facts of what transpired.'
The case remains a stark reminder of both the challenges faced by women in asserting their rights and the importance of due legal process.
As anticipation builds for the trial, one reality remains clear: both sides are preparing for a battle where the truth and public vindication are at stake.

Lawyer caught driving 220km/h on N2 in KwaZulu-Natal
A legal professional is facing the full might of the law after being caught driving at an astonishing 220km/h on the N2 this past weekend – nearly double the speed limit in a 120km/h zone. The lawyer, who was travelling from Umtata, was one of several drivers arrested by the Park Rynie Road Traffic Inspectorate for reckless speeding across KwaZulu-Natal. According to the KZN Department of Transport, officers had to pursue and apprehend the motorist after clocking the excessive speed on radar. Meanwhile, in a separate incident, an auditor from Reservoir Hills was arrested for speeding at 177km/h, while a third motorist, clocked at 178km/h, remains in police custody. Department spokesperson Ndabezinhle Sibiya praised the swift actions of traffic officers, warning that irresponsible driving not only threatens lives but also deepens social and economic hardship. 'In our interaction with many families or victims of road crashes, we hear stories of job losses, disability, and families being ripped apart,' said Sibiya. 'Reckless drivers are behind a vicious cycle of socio-economic problems and a decline in quality of life for many families.' All three suspects are expected to face charges related to reckless and negligent driving, with possible criminal prosecution if found guilty. Transport officials have reaffirmed their commitment to curbing speeding and improving road safety, especially as the province braces for increased holiday traffic later this year. Motorists are urged to respect speed limits and drive responsibly, or face arrest and prosecution. Minnie Dlamini sues MacG and Sol for millions
In April 2025, podcast MacGyver 'MacG' Mukwevho made some offensive remarks about Minnie Dlamini following her split from Dr. Brian Monaisa. These comments led to significant backlash, with many accusing him of misogyny and demanding he be held accountable. Although MacG issued an apology in May 2025, Minnie Dlamini has chosen to take legal action against the podcast duo. She is seeking millions in damages. In April 2025, MacG made controversial comments regarding Minnie Dlamini's break-up with Dr. Brian Monaisa. The podcast host made unsavoury comments regarding the television personality's hygiene and her ability to maintain relationships. These remarks ignited significant backlash, with many accusing the podcast host of misogyny. Groups like Women For Change and notable figures such as Deputy Minister Mmapaseka Steve Lestike demanded MacG be accountable for his comments. In response to the uproar, MacG issued a public apology in May 2025. Furthermore, he extended an invitation to Minnie Dlamini to join his podcast for a discussion. The podcast host said the following: I want to apologise, first and foremost to all the female chillers, and women in general SA I might have offended with that comment. That was not the intention. We never say things to offend people. I want to extend an invite to Minnie Dlamini to the show. You are more than welcome to come. This thing started on the podcast, let's end it on the podcast. She said some things, I said some things. Let's squash it once and for all. Dlamini, however, declined, labelling the apology insufficient. She went on to state that the comments MacG made were indicative of the show's ongoing pattern of misogynistic content. Minnie Dlamini has initiated a R2.5 million lawsuit against MacG and Sol in the Equality Court. The television personality claims the podcast duo engaged in hate speech, unfair discrimination, and gender-based harassment. She contends that their comments have undermined her dignity and violated her human constitutional rights, which appears to be a frequent occurrence on the podcast. In her case, Dlamini highlights previous episodes from 2022 where MacG allegedly accused her of cheating and made degrading comparisons to reality star Zodwa Wabantu. This pattern of remarks, she argues, has contributed to a hostile environment that she can no longer tolerate. Dlamini highlights that her lawsuit goes beyond her and is about t safeguarding the dignity of women in the media. The lawsuit that emerged on 3 August 2025 has attracted considerable attention from the public. Reactions are divided: some people rally behind Dlamini's fight against misogyny, while others defend MacG, arguing the lawsuit is merely an overreaction or a means to get money. This case seems to highlight an issue regarding the unregulated nature of the podcast industry. Let us know by leaving a comment below, or send a WhatsApp to 060 011 0211.
