Effective implementation of welfare schemes enabled TDP government to win hearts of people says MLA Bonela Vijaya Chandra
At a meeting under 'Suparipalana-Toli Adugu'' in Parvatipuram, he urged all party leaders to highlight the achievements of the administration by directly engaging with people in the villages, and mandals.
He said that the Chief Minister had enhanced social welfare programmes, enabling 67 lakh people to receive an additional amount of ₹1,000 as soon as he took reins of the administration in June, 2024.
He said: 'The previous YSRCP government extend financial assistance to only one child under the Amma Vodi programme, but the TDP extended Talliki Vandanam scheme to all children in a family. Such welfare scheme is not found even in rich States like Gujarat and Maharashtra.'
Mr. Vijaya Chandra said that lakhs of jobs would be created for the youth with initiatives such as the Quantum Computing Valley, the development of an aviation hub at Bhogapuram and the construction of Amaravati capital region.

Two decades after they parted ways, following a power tussle, Shiv Sena (UBT) chief Uddhav Thackeray and Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) chief Raj Thackeray will be seen in a joint rally in Worli today. The victory rally titled, 'Awaj Marathicha' (voice of Marathi) was planned by the two parties together after the ruling Mahayuti government rolled back its decision to make Hindi mandatory as a third language in the state's primary schools recently, following a strong opposition both from Raj and Uddhav, and intellectuals from civil society. Both parties have pulled out all the stops to put up a strong show of strength for the rally, which is being held at the NSCI Dome, Worli. A leader from Sena (UBT) told HT that while the auditorium's capacity is 8,000, the audience turnout is likely to be far more. However, those that are unable to reach the venue can watch the event on LED screens which have been set up outside the auditorium. Marathi director-producer Ajit Bhure will anchor the event. 'We have erected a grand stage with the map of Maharashtra in the background, headlined 'Awaj Marathicha'. We have arranged nearly 6000 chairs. Tents have been set up on all sides of the NSCI Dome, and screens propped up high on footpaths. We expect people to come spontaneously. Traffic on Annie Besant Road may have to be stopped,' said MNS leader Yashwant Killedar. Earlier, senior leaders such as Anil Parab from Shiv Sena (UBT) and Bala Nandgaonkar from MNS were assigned to oversee the planning and arrangements, which they have been executing with the help of their respective leaders through the week. The duo also held a meeting of functionaries to ensure everything goes according to plan. Local leaders have also been asked to set up LED screens in their areas. Teasers showing both brothers as lions fighting a cackle of hyenas are doing the rounds on social media and banners showing the cousins with Shiv Sena founder, the late Bal Thackeray, have been placed at several places across Mumbai, particularly Lalbaug, Parel, Dadar and Worli, and the Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR). The messages writ large are: 'Who brings down the government to its knees? Marathi manoos' and 'Unity of the Marathi people is the need of the time and real strength for us.' Kunal Manikar, MNS's western Mumbai chief, said: 'The Marathi mandals have heeded our call. A Jai Jawan Govinda Mandal will form a human pyramid at the venue.' Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Kishori Pednekar said, 'Though the rally is for the cause of Marathi, it could be the beginning of a renewed alliance between the cousins ahead of the local body polls.' Another leader from the party, Vinayak Raut, said, 'People will come from across Maharashtra to see the two brothers together. Leaders from allied parties such as Jayant Patil of NCP (SP), and CPI and CPM will join us.' NEW DELHI: For the first time in 20 years, Shiv Sena (UBT) chief Uddhav Thackeray and Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) president Raj Thackeray will share the stage on Saturday. The two leaders will address a joint "victory" rally organised by their parties to mark the withdrawal of government resolutions (GRs) related to the three-language policy. The rally is being held at the NSCI Dome in central Mumbai's Worli, which falls in the assembly constituency of Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Aaditya Thackeray. The gathering is also seen as significant ahead of the upcoming local body elections, including the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) polls. Uddhav and Raj Thackeray, whose parties have been vocal on the issues of Marathi language and identity, last shared a stage in 2005 during the Malvan assembly bypoll campaign. That was after former chief minister Narayan Rane had left the undivided Shiv Sena. Raj Thackeray quit the party later that year and launched the MNS in 2006. The rally comes in the backdrop of protests against the April 16 GR issued by the BJP-led Mahayuti government in Maharashtra, which made Hindi a compulsory third language for students from Classes 1 to 5 in English and Marathi medium schools. On the same day, leaders from Shiv Sena (UBT) and MNS had burnt copies of the GRs and had planned a protest march for July 5. After the rollback, both parties decided to hold a joint "victory" event instead. Uddhav and Raj had then said the government blinked after witnessing the unity of Maharashtrians and did not want them to come together. Though the two parties have chosen not to display any party flags, symbols, hoardings or scarves during the event, the political significance of the rally is being seen in the backdrop of their recent electoral performance. In the 2024 Maharashtra assembly elections, the Shiv Sena (UBT) won 20 seats while the MNS failed to win any. The parties have invited other political groups that opposed the GRs, as well as members of the literary and art community, to take part in the rally. The Congress, a partner in the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) alliance with Shiv Sena (UBT), has however said it will not attend the event. State Congress president Harshwardhan Sapkal said the party supports the stand against making Hindi mandatory but will not join the rally. NCP (Sharad Pawar faction) president Sharad Pawar also said in Pune on Thursday that he would not be attending due to prior commitments. However, NCP (SP) state president Jayant Patil said the party would be represented either by working president Supriya Sule or MLA Jitendra Awhad. Patil said MNS leader Bala Nandgaonkar had personally invited the NCP (SP). The rally takes place amid recent incidents involving both parties. MNS activists were seen on camera assaulting a food stall owner for not speaking Marathi. In another case, two people were made to apologise to a man in front of Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Rajan Vichare for allegedly attacking him. 'Speak in Marathi since you have hit a Marathi person,' a voice is heard telling one of the two men while he tries to say something to Vichare, a former MP from Thane.

Thackeray brothers Uddhav and Raj unite for Marathi pride for first time in 20 years. Will Sharad Pawar join?
The estranged Thackeray brothers—Uddhav and Raj—are set to unite for the first time in 20 years in Mumbai on Saturday. They will share a stage to celebrate 'victory' against the Maharashtra government's move to 'impose' three-language policy in primary schools.. Uddhav Thackeray' Shiv Sena (UBT) and Raj Thackeray's Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) are known to aggressively push the cause of Marathi identity and language. The last time the two cousins shared the stage was during the election campaign of Malvan Assembly bypoll in 2005 after former chief minister Narayan Rane had quit the undivided Shiv Sena, news agency PTI reported. Raj Thackeray quit the undivided Shiv Sena shortly in the same year and floated the MNS in 2006. The Shiv Sena (UBT) and the MNS have jointly organised the "victory" gathering at the NSCI Dome in central Mumbai's Worli, which also happens to be in the assembly constituency of Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Aaditya Thackeray. The two parties urged other political outfits who have protested against making Hindi "compulsory" in primary schools, and also people from the field of literature, art to participate in the gathering. The BJP-led Mahayuti government had issued a GR (government order) on April 16, making Hindi a compulsory third language for students in Classes 1 to 5 studying in English and Marathi medium schools. After a backlash, the government issued an amended GR on June 17, making Hindi an optional language. The move was criticised by the Opposition parties — Shiv Sena (UBT), MNS, and NCP (SP) — which dubbed it the "imposition" of Hindi on Maharashtra. The Sena UBT and MNS leaders' burnt copies of the GR and planned a "mega" protest march on July 5. On June 29, as the chorus against the introduction of the Hindi language in Maharashtra schools from Classes 1 to 5 grew, the state cabinet withdrew the two GRs on the implementation of the three-language policy. Uddhav and Raj had then said the government blinked after witnessing the unity of Maharashtrians and did not want them to come together. Claiming victory, both decided to hold a victory celebration on the same day. The victory celebration is also being held at a time when MNS activists were caught on camera allegedly assaulting a footstall owner for not speaking in Marathi, while two persons were made to apologise to a man in the presence of Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Rajan Vichare for allegedly assaulting him. Although both Shiv Sena (UBT) and MNS have decided not to use any party's flag, banners, poll symbol, hoardings and scarf during the event, the political messaging is evident at a time when they are witnessing diminishing electoral influence after their dismal performance in the 2024 Maharashtra Assembly Election. The Shiv Sena (UBT) had won 20 assembly seats, while the MNS drew a blank. After the poll debacle, Uddhav and Raj Thckeray are coming together on one stage just ahead of the local body polls, including the cash rich Mumbai civic corporation. NCP (SP) president Sharad Pawar, who is allied with the Congress and the Sena (UBT) under the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) banner in Maharashtra, said that he will not attend the event due to prior commitments. Speaking to PTI on Friday, NCP (SP) working president and Baramati MP Supriya Sule said Pawar will be in Pune on Saturday. Sule said she and MLA Jitendra Awhad will take part. The opposition stalwart had earlier told reporters he has events scheduled in Pune and would, therefore, not attend the Worli event. "Maharashtra Navnirman Sena leader Bala Nandgaonkar called me and invited me to the rally," state NCP (SP) chief Jayant Patil told PTI. Meanwhile, the Congress, an ally of the Sena (UBT), will not be a part of the victory celebration, state Congress president Harshwardhan Sapkal said.
