Effective implementation of welfare schemes enabled TDP government to win hearts of people says MLA Bonela Vijaya Chandra
At a meeting under 'Suparipalana-Toli Adugu'' in Parvatipuram, he urged all party leaders to highlight the achievements of the administration by directly engaging with people in the villages, and mandals.
He said that the Chief Minister had enhanced social welfare programmes, enabling 67 lakh people to receive an additional amount of ₹1,000 as soon as he took reins of the administration in June, 2024.
He said: 'The previous YSRCP government extend financial assistance to only one child under the Amma Vodi programme, but the TDP extended Talliki Vandanam scheme to all children in a family. Such welfare scheme is not found even in rich States like Gujarat and Maharashtra.'
Mr. Vijaya Chandra said that lakhs of jobs would be created for the youth with initiatives such as the Quantum Computing Valley, the development of an aviation hub at Bhogapuram and the construction of Amaravati capital region.

The DMK was consistently and vociferously raising its voice in Parliament against the unconstitutional denial of the State rights, the centralisation of power, the rising tide of hate propaganda, and the relentless imposition of Hindi and Sanskrit — 'all of which dig a grave for the Constitution and attempt to bury it', Mr. Stalin said. The DMK president said 'secular-spirited people of Tamil Nadu' had, in successive elections, overwhelmingly voted for the MPs and MLAs of the DMK-led alliance to defend the rights of the State and safeguard the Constitution. SC allows Delhi govt to withdraw plea concerning appointments in DERC
Agency: New Delhi, Aug 19 (PTI) The Supreme Court has allowed the Delhi government to withdraw its plea concerning the appointment of chairperson and members of the Delhi Electricity Regulatory Commission (DERC). A bench comprising Chief Justice B R Gavai and Justices K Vinod Chandran and N V Anjaria passed the order on Monday. 'Counsel for the petitioner (Delhi government) has filed an application seeking withdrawal of this writ petition. Hence, the application for withdrawal is allowed. Consequently, the writ petition is disposed of as withdrawn," the bench said. The counsel appearing for the Delhi government told the bench that until regular appointments are made in accordance with the procedure prescribed by law, the services of all the existing pro tem members shall continue. The lawyer also assured the bench that the process of regular appointments shall be completed expeditiously. While hearing the matter in November 2023, the top court had set up a three-member selection panel to make recommendations for the appointment of two pro tem members of the DERC. The plea was filed in the apex court by the erstwhile AAP-led Delhi government in 2023.
