Woman wearing Palestine Action t-shirt arrested in Belfast
It comes after the British Government in July made expressing support for or being a member of Palestine Action a criminal offence under terrorism legislation.
In London, around 365 people were arrested for supporting the banned group after protesters gathered in Parliament Square on Saturday.
In Belfast, videos shared online show a woman wearing a Palestine Action t-shirt being told by police officers she was being arrested on suspicion of 'possessing an article, namely a sign or t-shirt, that indicates support for Palestine Action'.
Belfast MLA Gerry Carroll condemned police action against pro-Palestine activists.
He called on Executive ministers to 'speak up for the right to protest' and dismiss any charges people may face.
'The whole world can see the mass starvation and daily executions carried out by Israel, yet the people being harassed in Belfast are those who stand up for Palestine,' Mr Carroll said.
'On the same day we saw far-right protesters with offensive and provocative signage, including pro-Israel items, the police took it upon themselves to arrest activists for having the temerity to wear items of clothing in solidarity action.
'The British Government implemented a regressive clampdown with their vote to proscribe Palestine Action, without a single vote being cast in the local Assembly.'
Sinn Fein MLA for West Belfast Pat Sheehan said the British Government and PSNI's actions were 'disgraceful'.
'While Keir Starmer continues to enable the ongoing Israeli genocide and starvation of Gazans, he is also moving to silence ordinary, decent people for speaking out,' he said.
'Just yesterday, (Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin) Netanyahu announced his intention to seize Gaza City.
'Yet still, Starmer provides cover for this rogue regime, instead targeting activists for highlighting what should be a universal moral outrage.
'Like all previous censorship attempts by the British Government, which is totally out of step with the wider public, this too will fail.
'Highlighting the ongoing devastation in Gaza is not a crime. The real crime is Israel's policy of ethnic cleansing and genocide, aided and abetted by the US and Britain.'

Arrests made after motorcyclist and pedestrian killed in crash
Three men have been arrested after a motorcyclist and a pedestrian died in a crash on a busy road. Lancashire Police responded to a report that a BMW motorbike had collided with two pedestrians on the A6 Preston Road in Clayton-Le-Woods shortly after 10.30pm on 7 August. The motorcyclist, a man in his 50s from Macclesfield, Cheshire, and one of the pedestrians, a man in his 60s from Clayton-Le-Woods, both died at the scene. The second pedestrian, a woman in her 60s, was taken to hospital, where she remains in a serious but stable condition. A spokesperson for Lancashire Police said a 53-year-old man from Whittle-le-Woods, Lancashire and a 57-year-old man from Middlewich and a 46-year-old man from Congleton, both in Cheshire – who were all in the area at the time of the collision – were arrested on Friday on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving. The force spokesperson added all three men have since been released under investigation pending further inquiries. Detective Sergeant Joe Ghigi said: 'This collision has very sadly resulted in the death of two men, and inquiries are ongoing to establish the circumstances that led to the collision. 'Our thoughts are with the woman receiving treatment, and the loved ones of both men who died. 'They are being supported by specially trained officers at this incredibly distressing time. 'Although we have now made three arrests, our inquiries are very much ongoing. 'If you witnessed anything or have any footage which would assist our investigation, I would urge you to make contact with the police as soon as possible.' Family of kidnapped Israeli hostages to join march on Downing Street
Family members of Israeli hostages taken on October 7 are set to join a march on Downing Street to urge the release of those being held by Palestinian militant group Hamas. On Sunday afternoon there will be a 'national march for the hostages' in central London organised by Stop the Hate UK and a number of Jewish organisations. It comes after Sir Keir Starmer pledged to recognise a Palestinian state in September unless the Israeli government meets a series of conditions towards ending the conflict in Gaza. Stop the Hate said that protesters will urge the Prime Minister to prioritise the release of 50 remaining Israeli hostages, with 20 of them thought to be alive, before any recognition of a Palestinian state. Among those due to attend is Noga Guttman, the cousin of 24-year-old Evyatar David, who was kidnapped. Hamas released a video last weekend which showed Mr David looking skeletal and hollow-eyed in a dimly lit Gaza tunnel. Marchers will include the relatives of Avinatan Or, who was kidnapped from the Nova music festival with his girlfriend Noa Argamani. Mr Or's cousin Ariel Felber, from London, said: 'Keir Starmer has failed the hostages and their families by not making it a condition that all the remaining hostages are brought home to their loved ones before he can even entertain talk of state recognition of Palestine. 'He urgently needs to correct this.' Steve Brisley from Bridgend, Wales, whose sister and nieces were murdered on October 7 and his brother-in-law Eli taken hostage, said: 'As British families of hostages and victims, devastated by the ongoing suffering of our loved ones, our emotional torture has been exacerbated by the suggestion that the UK may recognise a Palestinian state without securing the release of the hostages as an absolute precondition. 'This is not about politics. This is about basic humanity.' Also joining the protesters will be Ayelet Svatitzky, whose brothers Roi and Nadav Popplewell were murdered, and Adam Ma'anit, whose cousin Tsachi Idan saw his eldest daughter's murder before he himself was later confirmed dead. Demonstrators will gather in Holborn from 2pm before marching to Downing Street, where speeches will take place. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's office said on Friday that Israel would seek 'the demilitarisation of the Gaza Strip', as well as 'Israeli security control in the Gaza Strip' and 'the establishment of an alternative civil administration that is neither Hamas nor the Palestinian Authority'. In their joint statement, the foreign ministers said the plans 'risk violating international law' and 'any attempts at annexation or of settlement extension violate international law'. Sir Keir described Israel's plans as 'wrong' and called for 'a ceasefire, a surge in humanitarian aid, the release of all hostages by Hamas and a negotiated solution'. He said the UK will recognise a Palestinian state in September unless Israel agrees to meet certain conditions, including addressing the humanitarian crisis, implementing a ceasefire and reviving the prospect of a two-state solution. But he insisted the move was not a propaganda boost to Hamas, saying the 'terrorist organisation' could play 'no part in any future government'.

Arrest made after man dies in Tewkesbury night-time tractor crash
A man has died after a tractor crashed into hedges and incident happened in Fiddington near Monks Lane in Tewkesbury at around 23:25 BST, close to the site where the Severn Vale Vintage Club show had been taking passenger, a man aged in his 50s, sustained serious injuries and died at the scene - his next of kin have been made aware, police said.A man aged in his 20s, who is believed to have been driving the tractor, has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and driving while unfit through alcohol. Following the incident, Severn Vale Vintage Club organisers have closed the event which was due to continue on Constabulary has made an appeal for any witnesses to come forward.
